  • A tutorial on building foam Cowl for cosplay using my pattern/template.
Note: The foam thickness used in this video is 2.5-3mm thick. I glued two 1mm pieces together for the desired thickness.

ATTENTION: Please note that the foam thickness used in this video is 2.5-3mm as I glued two 1mm pieces together to create the desired thickness. Sorry for any confusion, this was my very first tutorial and I am working on updating it soon! Thanks!

This design is a complicated one and so I charge for the download. If you want free templates there are other cosplayers that provide basic patterns for free but even they charge for their more complicated patterns

probably a bad question, but are you able to turn the neck in it?

    • @thefreakishworkshop1760

Not a bad question at all! You can turn your neck and head as one but the entire cowl also moves. So yes and no. You can also not combine the neck and head sections to give more free movement. Hope this helps!

Can you move your neck so that your face can look to the left and right?

Hi there, thanks for your question! The answer is no, the design was done to replicate the one piece latex cowls. However you can simply not connect the head and neck seal to give some more movement or trim the top of the neck seal down for even more movement.

Tell me something. Do you find it’s easier to make any bevels after you’ve cut the part out? If so is there any particular reason why? To me I can see that as long as the bevels are consistent and match the other piece then making the bevels may be easier after cutting the pieces out.

Not at all! You can make the bevels at anytime but I find it’s more efficient to cut them as I’m cutting the whole piece out. Hope this helps!
