  • If you love chocolate as much as I do, then this is the cake for you! This cake brings back so many memories of my sister and my Granny. They were the Hershey Cake bakers in our family. It has been many, many years since I made one. I hope you enjoy this cake and will give it a try.
    Enjoy!

    Ingredients:
    Cake:
    2 sticks butter, melted
    2 cups sugar
    3 cups plain flour
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    4 eggs
    11 oz Hershey syrup
    7 Hershey bars
    1 cup buttermilk
    Directions:
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt Hershey bars. Mix with syrup. In a separate bowl, combine sugar, flour, salt, baking soda, and melted butter. To this mixture, add eggs, one at a time mixing well after each egg. Add buttermilk and mix until well combined. Pour mixture into a bundt pan or a tube pan that has been sprayed with non-stick baking spray or greased and floured. Bake for 1 hour. This makes quite a bit of batter so if you may need to use 2 pans. This will freeze well unfrosted.
    Frosting:
    6 Hershey bars
    1/4 cup evaporated milk
    Directions:
In a medium bowl, break Hershey bars and pour evaporated milk over bars. Melt together, stir until combined. Drizzle over cooled cake.

i have my sister's cookie jar, she passed when she was only 34. I'm glad you and the family are all feeling better, there are several viruses and illnesses out there right now, everyone please stay well and be careful when you go out to crowded stores, enclosed areas and wash hands frequently. I remember the Hershey's in a can...wow i had forgotten ! My mother kept it on the refridgerator door.

So nice to be able to connect to our loved ones that have passed on through cooking. I treasure the recipe's I have of my mama that are in her handwriting also. My grandma never wrote any of her recipe's down....luckily my mama made alot of my grandma's so it works out. Pop Jones did good on your gifts....super nice. This cake looks delicious....how can you go wrong with chocolate anything? Yummy. I have my grandma's tablecloth....I use it every thanksgiving on the table so that I feel like she is still sharing with us. She loved thanksgiving. I certainly understand how special it is having a part of your sister there while you make that cake. Sending hugs and love🥰

I'm 65 now... my momma ❤️ made this bundt cake. Hershey bars were 10 cents back then. She added very finely chopped pecans to the batter. She plated each slice with a dollop of lightly sweetend whipped creme on the side and served it with a cup of piping hot premium coffee for the adults and a bubbly glass of cold milk for the kids. This cake was so expensive to make that it was reserved for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and when the pastor came calling. ❤
