Melting My Entire Boat! - Massive Meltdown Boat Bonanza - Trash To Treasure

- Опубликовано: 16 окт 2024
- In this video I will be melting down my entire boat that I have had for over 2 years. I started by using my plasma cutter to cut the boat into smaller pieces. It took 3 days to get the entire boat cut into small enough pieces to fit inside the crucible. I then spent another 4 days melting down the entire thing. What I was left with is 71 pounds of clean metal ingots to use for future projects and 7 pounds of slag that I will just throw away. If you like this video, please give it a thumbs up and hit that Subscribe button for more.
Make sure to ring the bell to get notified of all my newest videos as they come out. I upload a new video each week so stay tuned.
Thanks For Watching!

Welcome back everyone! I know a lot of you have been waiting for this melt to happen. It took a while but I finally got it done. Sit back and enjoy this video and don’t forget to share it with your friends. 👍🏻 Enjoy!
How much propane did you use?
That plasma cutter is so badass and this melting video was insanely cool
Woot can't wait to watch bud
This is the first of your videos I have seen - good stuff!!!
PS - I had to read the title in a FLEXSEAL voice - couldn't help it... "I JUST MELTED MY ENTIRE BOAT [in half]..!!!"
...

Melting that boat was equivalent to a full time job! 😲 Plus that many days outside in a Las Vegas summer seems crazy to me! So hot 🥵
It really was. Part of the reason why I broke it up into 4 days. It’s too hot to stay out there for a long time especially with the furnace going. My cameras kept overheating.
Well, the way I see it....it's time for a bigger foundry ! Lol.
Holy cow, that is dedication. But now you can say you actually melted down a boat!!
that's a lot of aluminum😃. Nice pours!
I am obligated to give a comment and thumbs up for this one Ad.
lol graeat job.
Honestly for a moment I though i was watching a BigStackD video LOL, great work on that melt and nice pours too! :)
Well done Bud!!👍👍
Must commend you a lot on doing all that work. Excellent job on the entire project!
Awesome aluminum bar's thanks for sharing artbyadrock
Bitter sweet man. That boat has been a silent partner for such along time but knowing that not only will it be made into some art but with that amount it will become several pieces. Thx for the dedication brutha! Slainté
You're gonna need a bigger ... Uhm ... Ingot storage 😋👍
Wow! Somewhat sad to see a JonBoat cut up and melted down, but.., it was your boat to do with, whatever you wanted!
I'm glad that you got it done without any injuries, and now you do have a LOT of ingots to use on your future pours and castings!!
I know that you'll put it to use!
Stay well, stay thirsty!!
Totally thought this was a BigStackD video. This was satisfying to watch
The only way to tell the difference is that it didn't have beer or dogs in it.
Neighbor: Say, what did you do with your boat?
Adrock: I melted it.
Neighbor: oh, come on! What did you really do with it?
Adrock: I told you. I melted it.
Neighbor: That must have been one big crucible!
Adam this is your magnum opus. Well done video and a lot of hard work! Bravo! 👏👏
Love watching junk get turned into some nice and clean ingots.
OOh yay!!! I've been waiting all day to watch this. Thank you so much for uploading this.
Awesome job of getting rid of your aluminum boat. Great heats.!!! I need to do some melting.
You could maybe get one more ingot from all the slag. Your best video ever. Thank you.
That was seriously your greatest video yet.
Just a ton of melting and pouring.
Nothing else.
I put your video on repeat cuz I didn't want it to end
Could you imagine if the wife come's in and say "Hey babe, can we go on a boat ride today?"😀
me in response : here try it 😋
That took some dedication. Great job!
Lol I know the tedious hot work reducing the boat...I once melted down a 16x8 patio gazebo.
Didn't weigh it though but had a pile of ingots.
Asmr at its finest!
MONUMENTAL!
Nice video. Crazy how light it was as a boat. Thought it would have been double that .
Nice to see what's left of the boat. Nice big pile of ingots for later. If you melted the dross, you might have gotten another ingot out of it, but you have a lot more to use now. Great video 👍
How about some serious DIY dedication to melt an entire boat! That was impressive. I think you have to turn at least one bar back into a small boat casting!
Whatever floats your boat.🤔 just playing, that must have been quite the workout with the temperature in your area!
Yes it was 🥵
Had a moment of silence for John. May he rest in bar's. Would love to see 1000 coins from johns bars.
This was a cleanup job for the mafia, right? I'm pretty sure this is the boat they shot Fredo in 😁
Sheesh!! Good work
that whas an realy great video ;)
alot of melting hehe
No more ugly old aluminum boat to have to deal with now - just 71.43 pounds of ingots for whatever future projects you have planned for this channel. Must feel good to finally be done with that boat, considering it was 107 in Vegas. (It's a 'cool' 79 here in Ohio right now.)
Man brother, I've been thinking about doing this on my channel because I hadn't seen anyone do it. Now I have. :) Good going! I melted all the aluminum gutters off a house and got about 93 lbs. Amazing to get that much aluminum. Anyway, great vid!
Lots of aluminum from that boat
Did the same marathon melting 4 years ago when next door replaced their windows. Cast into breadpans.
Kept a pool of molten AL in bottom of pot to speed up heat transfer.
Nice melt down
Think of how much fun that wouldn’t have been without a plasma cutter…. Lol…. Hundreds of dollars in sawzall blades and cut off wheels lol….
Buddy that's dedication, I'm sure somewhere down the road that boat did you dirty.
You should get one of them portable air conditioners to keep cool. Also stay hydrated with monster energy drinks. lol just kidding on the monster part.
So have you thought about doing an anthill cast yet? we have some great hills for it here in the Mojave!
Aww, I'm a little disappointed you didn't remelt the slag. Could have gotten another bar out of all that
wow that looks like a LOT of work. Do you have plans for all the aluminum?
Not even Flex Seal can save it now.
🤣
This a great video. You should have left the whole melt in the vid. I would watch a 2hour long vid of a boat getting melted
Id have tried cutting the whole boat up in long strips that fit through the top of the furnace that way u could set it in and let the weight of it keep it melting in the pot just have keep an eye on how much is in it
A plasma cutter, now that is just cheating! There was someone new to YT and melting 3+ years ago that was going to melt down his boat, but he stopped doing videos before he got there or it fell through the cracks and I missed it, so was good to see someone do this!
Nice finally got to watch it crazy how much slag there was have you ever considered using like a jaw crusher to break it down and re melt it not sure if it worth the expense lol 👌 great melt bud I feel your pain with the heat its hot here in Austin TX 😂
Somehow I missed this video, I know on another video I complained about my son now wanting about 30K dollars in 3D printers, laser engravers, and CNC machines from your videos, but I am definitely getting a plasma cutter ASAP.
This might be a wierd question but would you ever sell a bar of metal? ...if so how much?
If you’re interested contact me and we can work something out 👍🏻
It made me cry to cut my boat apart. It was junk thought I could fix it. I ended up using pieces for my new boat. Really hooked my new boat up. But this is satisfying as well.
I may be missing something here but surely you are just melting those nice small pieces only to melt them again when you create from them?
Boy did I get replacement backpain seeing you cut on the ground. Remember your ergonomics buddy.
THREE meters aluminum boat how much does it cost? 10 times more expensive than aluminum Scrap metal!
Is the aluminum slag worth anything
Wow that took a while. Have you ever thought of cast the coins from Harry Potter Galleon, Sickle, and Knut. As life-sized coins?
Yeah, it's hot in Las Vegas, it's just as hot here in Memphis. But it's the humidity that's a killer. I just checked the weather channel, the humidity in Vegas is 7%, here in Memphis it's 64% !! You can hardly go out to the store without sweating like a mule !!😰😰😰😰
Sweet boatload of Aluminum Bars. That has got to be 170 lbs worth
I'd probably even say up to 181.3 lbs. with the slag.
Watch the video to end?
Ломать не строить. Из хорошей лодки сделали куски металла. А теперь из кусков металла сможешь сделай лодку?
What metal is this?
Aluminum engine block melt next? Probably to risky with all the chemicals in the block and heads and way too time consuming to cut up and break down to melting size
Please Art by Adrock, what kind of metal is it?
Pretty sure it's aluminum 👍
Have you ever tried to pour a motor head? Even a small one?
Send a pattern, stl format.
He can print it, then lost pla cast it.
Did you at least use it once? 🤔
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Лайк🙏💕🙏💕🙏💕🙏💕🙏💕 👌👌👌👌👌👌🆗🆗🆗🆗🆗👍👍👍👍
Do you degas your aluminum before pouring? If so what do you use?
No, I never really bother especially if it’s just for ingots
Semper fi oorah brother
I had a fire melt my boat without any work or input from me. I still have an aluminum puddle hanging off my garage.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Aw man how am I going fishing now.
You could have cut the whole thing up in about 30min. With a skil saw
I bet you wish you had another devil-forge.
I actually have 4 of them
Man, I don't know. 7 days work for $40 worth of aluminum. Could've sold the boat for $500 (probably way more) and just bought 70 lbs of aluminum. Would've been a nice profit. I'm all for recycling scrap but that boat looked perfectly usable. Seems like an expensive waste to me.
Have you ever thought of a bottom pour forge?
шлак надо потом еще переплавить
I take it your not a big fishing person 😜
Have you ever tried pouring a head to an engine even a small one?
Devil, Best video on RUclips; love the Ingots!!! 🫡
Need to send these over to BigStackD. Need to help him finish up his 1 ton.
