I just love this melting game but todays video took a bit extra to get the final result. Three great bars to add to the stack. I'm getting a bigger place soon so hopefully I can get all my pieces off the floor and onto some bigger shelves👍🏻. Now like I always say have an awesome weekend and I appreciate your continued support👊🏻😁.
While this may seem silly from someone suffering from PTSD you, Ingot, and Bullion are a source of happiness for me. So I thank you for including them in your work. What you do is something I find cathartic in my tough times and I thank you for giving me a place I can come to relax and take a breather. Forever a fan in the USA.
funny man I have severe ptsd as well and the fact asmr is not a word no one seems to care about. I get the whole silent methodical process is cool to watch but ASMR isn't a word. it is not in any dictionary but the urban one people use for dirty jokes.
My favorite ice cooloff is when the copper bar slowly sinks into the ice and the water boils and bubbles off all the scale on top and reveals the nice red copper underneath ❤❤❤ I wish you could make more of those copper bars that got really wrinkly on top. Those are really cool!
I spend the first 30 minutes of work on Friday watching these for the last 3 months lol. You're so close to the 1 tonne mark I'm excited to see what the plan is when you get there
Hey bigstackD Casting you may remember me from a video long ago about tin in copper and discussing the materials properties. It is with great joy that I would like to inform you that I am now graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelors in Materials Science and Engineering. It would be a lie if I said that your videos didn't inspire me, and I'd like to thank you for putting out consistent, satisfying liquidius phase metallurgical content for all these years. I am thrilled that you've grown from such roots as 5k, 10k, and 50k, all the way up to 1.3M. Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
I'll give you a little tip. There is something called phosphorous or chlorine degassing tablets which are blue in color and I don't know the exact composition but when you submerge them into the melt before pouring, the aluminum is refined and all the slag and drose is reduced back to metal aluminum. The slag that remains will look like ordinary dust. So do some searching.
As someone who used to work on used cars that were bought at auctions, painting vehicle components is a very common thing. Makes it look like it has been replaced recently. Some places would also tell you they replaced it and instead just paint it to make it look new. Some very shady people out there.
He sure helped me when I started out. Made himself available and answered my questions. Good goin' on this one - the close-up of the copper melting in ice was sweet!
I'm here because of the socks! And the completely insane tension that quickly rises towards a foreign object (steel barrel) breaking the picture by smashing everything !! beautiful..
I don't know if that is a trustworthy reply to answer back to! I have fallen for fake RUclips accounts coming across that way in the past! They try to tell you have to pay the shipping then work you over for all they can get!!
I was watching a bunch of restoration videos before this, and in my half-brain state I was watching going "Well, this guy certainly is bold with dismantling this, and-- oh god he's ruining it!" Then of course it clicked and suddenly I was very much in destruction catharsis mode ;) Thanks for making another Friday a merry one! Cheers!
I have one of those cores but didn't know what it was. I just found it at the dump and grabbed it because I saw the copper inside. Now I know what to look for to get more. Thanks, and really enjoying these melts. I assume I'll be an expert soon, just like my wife is an expert doctor from the internet.
The internal rotor (the thing that you threw into the forge that looks like teeth) can be pried open from the center assembly shaft. But it requires a tremendous amount of force.
I’ll keep going I just wanted to have an achievable goal that I could get to over the next year or two. Plus I always wondered what 1000 kg of bars and coins would look like. I’m hoping to get to about 999 kg and then to go over the thousand kilo mark by adding 50 or 60 kg in one video👍🏻
Interesting that it's alternators today. I've been passing an old alternator lying in the carport and thinking about how it'd melt up. Maybe in a few months once things settle down here on the farm I'll get a forge. There's a LOT of misc junk in a farm yard that could get melted.
Great Job Sir.... As a USA Viewer, that gets me every time... Driving on the wrong side of the road, a backwards Grand Cherokee with the wheel on the wrong side..... I usually watch your work early in the morning, and I'm just waking up.... So I always get the "What am I looking at?" for a second.... Heh heh heh!!!
This channel is awesome. What a great way to show off different melting points too. The copper melting out of the aluminum, the steel looking almost untouched even after aluminum melting. Great work.
I was just about to go to sleep when I saw that you posted (it's 3:30am where I am), Love your content and I know it's gonna be an amazing melt,as always
Another cool video! I work 7 days a week but your videos give me a reason to look forward to Fridays. I like how different metals "freeze". Copper looks like a dried up river bed and aluminum looks like a bread loaf then it collapses in the center. Looking forward to seeing you hit the TONNE mark.
Great video! You melted tomething new for a change and there werent a lot of ad interruptions. Loved it! I highly recommend this video for everyone to see
Gets downright hot here in this part of the United States (especially in the state of California). and those ice block smashes hit the spot. Forever a fan in the hot California sun.
My three (actually five) reasons I watch these videos. 1) My potential interest in this hobby. 2) Your boys. They’re even cuter than my Quacken Troop, which is like 10 or 12 ducks strong. 3) The Actual Content 4) BigSNACKd moments 5) After-melt drink. CHEERS! 🍻
I've been watching your channel for about 2 years now . I've gone through your back content and I haven't seen any proper precious metals like gold or silver and I was wondering if you had any that I could watch. Your channel is calming and funny and I love your dogs have a great week and a great weekend
First off, this is Australia! I'm not going in there to get the parts without a shotgun. Secondly, I've changed out quite a few alternators. You were being very kind to them.
Hell yeah! It's bigstackD FRIDAY! Best day of the week! Let's melt! Edit: Excellent video! Thanks for taking us with you on your scavenge. The view was incredible! Cheers!
Awesome tear down, melt, and pour. The bars look great. Congratulations on getting a bigger house soon. You definitely need more and bigger shelves. Love seeing boys. Great video. Can't wait to see what you do next week. Cheers 🍻
Awesome stuff as always I thought least week was off but figured it was my old brain making mistakes 🤣 thank you for sharing and give the boys a treat for me five stars brother
I read your alert on scammers a few minutes ago. I keep getting these PDFs for bogus bills for things I didn't order. I just don't open them, the second you do, if it's a hacker, they have a way into your smart phone. Everyone needs to be extra cautious. Thanks for letting us know And I did enjoy the video.
Thanks for the consistancy Big D, always relaxing me after a stressful week, , heading down to Pembi next week spend some time on the farm with the fam finally get out of the rat race for a bit, , happy weekend m8
My good sir, I think you need to schedule an intervention for your friend. There’s exponentially more junk under his house than there is on and around my dad’s workbench, which is both impressive and alarming.
@11:11 Did the point where the steel was half exposed to air, accelerate the cooldown process? Perhaps having an air medium next to the water medium next to the body in question, causes an acceleration of energy transfer when at the correct ratio???
Always awesome watching your videos, use to do some melting but foundry seen its days lol, plus was using ole skool methods, but looking to get back into it again!!!!!!! Keep up the great vids! Cant wait til ya get to your mark!!!!

That’s great news hope the move works out ok.

The ice block birthing those aluminium bars is some of the best footage ever captured in the wild.
& the wire brush finish is class.
That's funny!

I spend 30 before work on Fridays watching these 👌 can't wait for next week's 👌
Sell all of it like a boss
Go to 2-ton!
Melt the different metals into huge cubes
Melt everything into one large brick

Dude sounds like a great way to reprocess the slag he usually saves 👌
Right, i think he has 2 totes of aluminum slag saved up, and it looks like a good bit of metal is still in there!!!!
@@jam2190 it's difficult to remelt drose on its own. It's a laborious process. It's best to do it with each batch of fresh melt.
@@Bluebirdiran ok? I'm not the one with humpteen pounds of it

Just got my devil forge in today. Still waiting on some molds and casting sand. Can't wait. Thanks for all the videos.
The anticipation on that ice block crush was palpable, followed by uncontrollable laughter when the barrel came crashing down!
Love you're videos and content. No cussing no fussing just wholesome goodness. Very relaxing when I watch. Can't wait for the next upload.
Whenever this guy's video comes out I never miss to it at any cost
I'm here because of the socks! And the completely insane tension that quickly rises towards a foreign object (steel barrel) breaking the picture by smashing everything !! beautiful..
Lol! You're the only melter out there that can make melting ice a point of interest!😂
This week I've built a charcoal furnace to melt aluminum scrap and it worked very well... Thank you for the inspiration :)
Bro I just love the way aluminium acts when it starts to melt. Looks like a soft chocolate bar in a hot day, amazing!
I don't know if that is a trustworthy reply to answer back to! I have fallen for fake RUclips accounts coming across that way in the past! They try to tell you have to pay the shipping then work you over for all they can get!!
Watching the glow of the furnace at night. Mesmerizing. Do more. With all your friends junk your going to be busy.🇺🇸👍🇦🇺
There are many channels on metalworking but your way of representing is the best

I love a good copper melt. I’d like to see you cast something again soon. I like the videos of things like the Dredd badge and such.

I was just about to go to sleep when I saw that you posted (it's 3:30am where I am), Love your content and I know it's gonna be an amazing melt,as always
Always love the mirrored bars but the brushed look is honestly my fave. Also, only 151 pounds to go - gotta melt 'em all! 😁
Every time you cook my stomach growls like it's been starving for a week
BigStack knows how to bust out the BigSnack.
Why do I watch your videos on an empty stomach? Your snacks always make me hungrier lol
night time pours look awesome
Another fantastic melt. I would love to see you make some more German silver or aluminum bronze.

Well, that's ONE way to get copper out of something like an Alternator!! 😃SO Cool!! 😃 Great job as usual, BigstackD!! 😃
When you started with ‘my steel scrapping friend’ I got excited think I would get to see him melt some steel.
I must say. The throwing heavy stuff on the ice and metals thing just don't get old lol.
