I heard one employee said “$2k purchase was considered Walmart”… my purchase was a Speedy 25B that time. They’re not talking to me but casually talking to each other about a customer ranting over quality issues on her NF bag. I found it very snobbish.
I purchased the NF MM yesterday and the quality is horrible. I also got the wallet to match. I opened my items this morning and noticed that the wallet has white scuffs on it. I'm very unhappy and am going back right now to point out the problems and request to get a replacement for both items that I haven't even had for 24 hours. I'm super sad and upset to be charged $3k and then to have to go back wait for 2 hours or more to be helped. LV you should be ashamed to treat your customers so poorly.
@@dialmstyle Ok funny story but Shaq spent well over $2000 in Walmart and got his card declined. I think he was moving from one state to another so he needed to buy things for the house last minute. The bill was insane and Amex kept declining thinking his card was stolen. I saw a video of him talking about it once here on RUclips. It was so funny! But you’re right, unless someone is buying several TVs to renovate or furnish a house or whatever, people don’t ordinarily rack up a crazy bill like that at Walmart.
I buy canvas at LV because they do it the best, but I'm not buying leather at LV when I can go to Chanel for the same price. I honestly have been impressed with Gucci lately.
Wow for once in my life I am speechless. These increases are insane. LV doesn’t want to be accessible for the “average” person. You just said that right after I typed it. You nailed it Michelle!!
New bags from many makers do not compare to the older bags. Vintage coach bags are hands down 100% better quality than today's bags. Thank you fr this video, excellent info!
Thank you for sharing your insights on this Michelle. I feel really bad for the SA. The way they're treated is just inhumane in my opinion. But, honestly I think the price increases are partyly the consumers fault too. We keep buying despite these crazy prices increases with inferior quality (yes, guilty here). And I agree with you, those execs don't care about us. The only time they would care is when people actually stop buying. I would be hypocrite to say I will never buy from LV again, but it will be for a while. To start my own protest, I deleted the bags from my favorite list, deleted the LV in my bookmark and unsubscribed in their email. I got all the LV bags I love.
I agree I will stop buying too We need to do a protest and we all stop buying LV to see they will care about their employees prices and clients… But we need to make the difference they just want rich people buying but we are more normal people in the world then rich
You are right. Any business will charge as much as they think the customer is willing to pay. I think luxury brands are vying for exclusivity, to get to the Hermes level of insanity where people are falling over themselves to buy a bag. As long as people are willing to buy, the prices will continue to go up!
@@nikkiknows1545 I wanted to get the Neverfull MM Damier Ebene with the rose ballerine interior, but I really can't see myself paying $1,900 for it now. Idk. I bought the Graceful MM two years ago at $1,440 and it's now $1,890! There's no way that I would pay that much for that particular bag. I bought it brand new from the LV boutique and after 5 days, I had to have it repaired in the store. Then a few weeks later, it had to be shipped out for the same repair. The same thing is becoming an issue again and I really don't carry it a whole lot. I'm now looking at other brands and have recently gotten into Tory Burch. I have purchased 2 bags and a wallet in the last 6 months and I'm loving them. I asked my husband for the Lee Radziwill double bag for my birthday. I want quality products that are worth the price.
@@anikac128 My MM Damier Ebene was purchased in 2014 and I haven’t had any issues with it but to me quality is what the problem is because the quality is getting worse, not better. I understand inflation causes prices to rise but we should not compromise on the quality we deserve as consumers. I’m staying away from Louis because none of the prices now are worth it to me.
@@dddloveit Yes, I baby my bags too, no matter the brand. I appreciate my husband working hard and gifting them to me. I really wish that I was able to start my collection back when the quality was amazing and justified the price.
I’m done with LV. If you’ve seen my vintage Speedy video, which is the Speedy that I bought in 2002, I paid $350 for it, and it’s better quality than the Speedy 25 they are selling now for four times the price. There’s no way to justify the cost of any of their items. Saying it’s because of the supply chain is bs, and blaming the pandemic when their profits soared is just outrageous. The only person benefitting is Mr. Arnaut and the investors.
Ordered a vanity pm for $2,750 sent it back, didn’t think it was anywhere worth that price. I have a decent collection, Chanel, Dior, but honestly, LV really doesn’t have anything that interests me at these prices.
I was looking at the Capucines BB in Scarlet, just because I think it is pretty, but when I saw the $6,750 price tag I almost choked. I thought it was high at $5,000. But until consumers start speaking with their wallets and start telling these brands that we’re not paying $8,000 for your poorly made purse and let them sit on the shelves, we have no one to blame but ourselves. Switching to YSL and Gucci. More interesting, at a better price point.
I am much more angry about how little the employees are paid than the rising costs. If 99% of the price increase went to the people who make and sell the bags (or the cost of materials) I would be happy that the workers were finally getting what they deserve.
I still had two LV bags on my wish list, but that price increase killed it for me - I just don't want to pay some Billionaire... if the price increase at least went to the floor staff! But like this, the flair of the brand is destroyed. Capitalism at it's finest
bought a neverfull gm last year for $1770 after taxes and now 6 months later it's $2100! I am so glad I got it when I did because it's honestly the only LV bag I've ever wanted. LV does however have a few fragrances I'm happier to spend my money on as I see those prices as more fair
I own LV boots, sneakers, sandals, bags, one belt and scarves...Recently I was contemplating selling a few items. I'm done with Louis Vuitton after this increase.. From a fashion stand point, there are much better options available. Handbags are up 1k. Foot wear is up $500
I remember purchasing my mini pochette back in 2017 for $275 now it’s $745… that’s insane. I recently purchased the monogram mini pochette for about $925 because I really wanted it. I a few days ago, I went ahead and ordered the Nano Nice before this increase hits the consignment shops like Fashionphile & The Real Real.
I bought my mini pochette back in 2016, but couldn’t remember how much I paid for it. I thought it was under $300, but thought to myself that couldn’t be right. Such a huge jump in pricing.
Good for you goel!!! && also-- this comment really just stood out to bc frr, it's FACTS! THAT INCREASE IS TOTALLY INSANE!! FOR CANVAS, BISHHH???!!! WHAAAT? Idk what is really going on with LV, bit I swear imo, it feels like they are really trying to reach that "more exclusive", aka "stupid $" Markey that Chanel & Hermes are hitting atm. I've always lived LV, since I was old enough to appreciate a cute purse, really. It makes em sick the amount if increases that have just happened since covid hit us. Honestly! They are going to lose yoo many customers by doing this & their quality & overall vibes hasn't gone up-- it's a good & solid staple, classic fashion house. Period! They don't need to do this, its going to hurt them in thr long run & making ppl want their stuff less. I don't get it. It's gross.
My jaw dropped when you said the price increases were every other year! I’m into it since pandemic and thought that it was once or twice a year… for sure they got too greedy and I don’t think it’s luxurious to give customers a higher price every time they walk into a store 🙅🏻♀️
They were always expensive. I knew that. Already felt like it wasn’t worth the materials but I still bought it because I liked it. But I was really turned off with the new prices. And to know that the employees aren’t even making that much commission makes it worse.
I literally remember when the Speedy 25 in Monogram Canvas was $525. What you said about LV not having to cater to “low end customers” sounds insulting, but it’s a harsh reality🤷🏾♂️ One main fact is that if people want it, they’ll spend the money no matter the cost. Everytime you mentioned Bernard Arnault, I got tickled😆. Very informative video♥️👜
I can’t believe the price increase so soon again. I’m glad I got two of my wishlist bags last year before they increased so much. The increase in canvas is insane.
@@dialmstyle hahah I need that one! I got the pochette Métis in the empreinte black leather with matching recto verso card holder and the neverfull mm in the damier ebene in rose baillerine with matching zippy wallet. If you can’t tell I like watching wallets lol
I really enjoyed your video. Honestly, There isn’t a whole lot of resistance from consumers. Presidents’ Day and the line for my nearby LV store was wrapped , twice that of V-day if I recall. Same with Chanel, Dior, Goyard etc. My colleague received a neverfull GM prior to the increase and exchanged it for the MM (which now costs more than the larger GM did 2 weeks ago) 🤯 (yes she paid the difference on her exchange for a smaller bag) Few consumers have refrained from continuing to purchase LV and other designers like Chanel (who had a whopping 57% increase in the trailing 12 months). However the masses will continue to crave these luxury items regardless of price increases, quality concerns etc.
Thanks Michelle - this was very interesting. They should be ashamed to be paying workers so poorly - nothing ‘luxury” about ripping off your workers. I look at a lot of LV lately and think it’s a great bag but it’s not worth THAT much. Plus the lack of quality is a big turn off. I know it’s the same luxury house but I find Dior at least has kept their quality up along with their outrageous prices.
I feel like Louis Vuitton has some nerve trying to jack up the prices not like they weren't expensive before the pandemic but now they're making it virtually impossible to own one.
Thank you for sharing this video. I own one LV for the early 90's and that is it. I love luxury bags but whenever I go into a boutique I dont like the feel of the bag or materials that some brands use and therefore I am out. My husband will look over a bag for any imperfections and if he finds one he will ask to see another because he feels if he is spending that amount of money then it has to be perfect. I can honestly say I won't be buying from LV because I dislike when a company cuts commissions and incentives for their employee's because without them and the clients they would be nothing
The thing is they don;t care about regular customers and let's be honest a lot of the influencers get the bag for free. What many people don't seem to understand is there are more very rich who don't care about price or quality and will pay for the bags. Those are the customers that LV wants and will keep them in business.
This is insane. I got my first speedy 30 in 2015 for only $999. Now, that same bag is $1,550 in 2022…. I understand inflation but this is outrageous to see. The pre-loved market is going to sky rocket
Thank you for sharing I was recently looking on the louis vuitton website in the uk as I was considering buying x2 of the canvas bag , however the website kept coming up access denied after I entered the items in the shopping basket. I then thought let me just look at some of the reviews on u tube, Ive decided to take my money elsewhere, as alot of the designer bags have become very common ie everybody's wearing the same styles and Louis Vuttion bags are one of the most available fake bags to buy.
Do you think that there are or will be any "entry level" handbags to purchase from LV anymore? I purchased a few SLG's, but even those went up in price! I think the LV SLG's are the new "entry level" for someone just getting into the brand. Do you think that luxury brands in general (Gucci, Saint Laurent etc.) are trying to phase out their entry level pieces, and phase out the 'average customer"? Thanks for the info!
I was checking the Neverfull mm and it's now 2 grand. The speedy 20 that I can't get my hands on went from 1890 to 2080! This is insane! I'll stick to YSL. Also, I spoke to a LV customer service lady and she said they are talking of bringing back the toiletry 26. I can only imagine the price on this.
I'm an LV canvass lover😍 and I just started my collection last year when we were still in Europe, I got 6 bags and 5slgs tax free for a capsule luxury collection that fits my lifestyle, all canvasses. There's a few that eluded me bec it was just not available in most of Europe. From Germany, Amsterdam ,Milan and Florence I can't find the timing to get the Speedy B 25 in Monogram😥. Last December it was available in Wynn, Las Vegas and I bit the bullet bec I knew they've been frequent with the price increases. Whew, I snatched a mini pochette DE here in San Antonio Texas before the Feb 16 increase. Yes I panicked but it took me 10yrs to commit to luxury. In a way I should have collected waaay earlier but I thought I'll be happy with contemporary brands. But when our finances improved and we achieved our set priorities, it paved way to buy lux. But boy oh boy this is too much. I only have 1 on my wishlist and I'm buying it pre-loved! I'm glad I'm not into full on leather bec I can't afford it.
I feel so bad for the CA no wonder they are not so keen on selling the monogram canvas, and pushing more on selling the leather goods. I’ve a question, I just got my first vintage speedy monogram 25. How do you clean or condition the canvas? I’ve heard just soap and water, but what I’d the canvas looks “dry” I’ve seen people using Armor All to condition it.
Personally I feel like if I had $5-6k to spend on a leather bag (I don’t) it would be from Hermes or Chanel if they had a men’s collection. When I think of Vuitton it’s for their canvas pieces. Other brands do leather better than they do. I’m unfortunately part of that $2000-3000 club that buys maybe once a year that they’re trying to get rid of 😩
You're absolutely right-- I am being priced out of the market for LV goods. I am a middle-class, state employee working mom in a town with a high cost of living so I have low expendable income. They WANT to price me out of the market, because they don't want me to be seen with their products while I'm in my 10-year-old Subaru. I will get what I can of the products that I've not been priced out of yet, but at some point it will just become unattainable for me.
I never gotten upset with my CA and now I feel more sad of crap what my CA and everyone working at LV have to deal with on daily basis. They deserve more pay and better commission. :(
Love your videos and especially the last minute of this one :) I think a lot of us needed to hear that, and definitely going to start looking at pre-loved pieces. Thanks as always!
I really don’t understand the pricing on the Cousssin. What makes it so special that it’s $4,000 plus? As always, love your channel and your content! 😎
Hi Michelle! Great video! It was so interesting to learn all the ins and outs we customers are not privy to. I have been looking for your channel. You look great! Thank you for sharing your LV experiences with us. I am so glad I purchased my LV when I did.I have everything I want from LV. It was wonderful seeing you again. I wish there was a way to mark a channel as a favorite. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a great weekend ❤️
Hi Eileen! Thank you so much! It’s funny RUclips hasn’t showed me your channel either! I will go watch and support! I think you have a wonderful collection and good thing you do! ❤️
The priced are making me rethink my purchases. Also, not to be “that” person but the %s are way off (1890 to 2030 is 7.4% and 2360 to 2570 is almost 9%). Still too much of an increase if the quality isn’t increasing. Thank you for the video. Still debating.
It kinda makes sense now when I went to the store to purchase my first LV bag and I really wanted a monogram but the SA talked me out about the leather selection. Thanks for this video!
If the Pochette Metis was increased from $2360 to $2570 then that calculates to be a 8.89 % increase, not 25%. A 25% increase would be 2360 × 1.25 = $2950.
My first luxury purchase was LV Pallas BB in 2019. Now, I think I’m done with LV. I got the mini pochette for $445 in 2021 and now it’s $745??? Not worth it. Are any of their leather bags worth the $$?? I think I’d rather buy Chanel or try my luck at Hermes.
I used to think I was spending a lot by buying a $200-$300 bag before I was able to buy an LV. It’s wild that $1K was “low end” designer prices in the 2010s and now $2K is the new low end! they are really pulling a Chanel, falling quality (so I’ve heard, my pieces have held up), skyrocket price increase. I love repurposed jewelry though! My mom made me a cuff a very long time ago, and I got some buttons and padlock charms off eBay and have made “Chanel” and LV earrings and necklaces hehe. I’d never buy costume designer jewelry but it’s been fun to make and I enjoy wearing it.
True! I agree with you on spending $200-$300 IS STILL A LOT! I too have considered making a Dior or Chanel necklace, from Michael’s, after seeing how much costume jewelry is! I do enjoy those crafters who repurpose, often found on Etsy!
I personally love the canvas because it’s so iconic and representative of the brand because of its history and had just started my collection maybe like a year ago but with the continuous price increases I might start looking at other brands since it gets to a point where it does get a bit ridiculous to pay so much and since I have purchased the pieces I really love I think I’m content with what I have. Love your videos by the way 😊
I agree with you. I’m just starting my designer bag collection as well and will definitely be dialing it back on my future purchases. Luxury items are already extremely expensive, but now it’s becoming just flat out ridiculous. I think instead of continuing to buy overpriced designer bags, I’m going to use that money to go on nice vacations And wear/enjoy the bags I already have in my collection.
@@teah507 treating yourself always feels nice but will also start rethinking my luxury purchases. Experiences over material things is much better spent money.
I started my collection last year too. I have several pieces that I use all of the time but these price increases are going to make me think twice before I spend more money. I just won’t buy as much as often.
Very real and I formative thank you so much for your insight and for sharing I just purchased a sac plat pm as I have wanted this for ten years and I think I’m good with Louis because now it’s just nuts
Love your video so informative. I think it’s insane how Louis Vuitton raises their price that much and so often. I’m glad i got my Pochette Accessories last year before the price got so crazy high only paid $790 and now its $500 more.
What a bloody scam…the last time I bought a bag was 4 years ago and I got the speedy 25 bandoliere in canvas and was shocked at how the corners started to show wear after only a summer (Scottish summers last like literally 4-5 weeks). I then vowed not to buy any more new LV items and not to sell my vintage items because you WILL NOT find the same type of quality in new LV bags. So disappointing.
I purchased the NF MM in Jan 2020 for $1390. Now over $2,000 for the same canvas bag. I understand that many companies are increasing their prices but I am concerned that these prices are increasing and quality is not.
They would keep their customers easier if they raise the quality and not the price … a price doesn’t make something worthy , quality does. I don’t like most of the leather bags … maybe why I paid 2000 for a never full PM in canvas last week, but the quality has gone down :(
Thank you for the video. I have several bags and slg's from LV, and I could probably buy more. Am I going to? No. I have noticed the quality of the products have decreased and I heard other people complained about it, so it is not just my items. I don't like LV's approach and I feel like it has changed their image. LV is supposed to be about great quality, history, classics. They keep bringing new items that are very questionable and will probably not be classics like Speedy, Ellipse, Brea, or even Neverfull. Even though I personally have all of the bags I really like and that fit my lifestyle from LV, I feel bad for people who now cannot purchase the items because of the price increase. I also don't want to participate in economy of the brand which does not seem to pay well for their employees. I'm not sure who they want to sell their things to now, or why. It seems to be all about the money, and it's sad. It is the reason I never wanted to and never will buy anything from Hermes. I have 0 desire to participate in this game where I have to convince people to take my money in an exchange for a product. There are many more ways I can spend the money. LV has been my favorite brand, but I have to admit that I sort of like my collection less now, it's like I don't want to be a part of that greed. I might decide to even sell the whole collection if the feeling does not change in a few months.
Wow that is pretty bold to sell your collection! I appreciate your comments and sentiments. At the end of the day, it’s just stuff, and stuff that benefits those at the top! Thanks for watching!
So spot on…I’m not the desired customer for a bag. But I can always spend on shoes and accessories. Cause I think some bags are NOT worth to spend on with these price hikes… I think some point many luxury brands will shove way the upper middle class income too leaving the top earners the true core of customers.
This video is fantastic and helped me with my frustration over the price rises here in the U.K. - had my eye on the mini pochette my heritage. This time last year it was £440, now it’s over £700 U.K. pounds! Love your style, voice and attitude - so unique on here, I’ve subscribed and look forward to seeing more content.
Me too..the bags that I've been waiting on I've been saving up as much as possible and buying. I bought a bag this past weekend, and I wasn't going to buy a wallet at that time---but I had the money and didn't want to risk the price going up so I bought it right then then there.😔
Thank you for your video Michelle! I know you mentioned that SAs are making .01% commission on canvas, I’m curious if you know the commission percentage for leather goods. -Val
Thanks so much for your insight! I have a question though maybe you have insight on this too. Do you think to make more ppl buy knocks since LV keeps upping the price and not necessarily the quality?
I’ve got my Neverfull Mm a year ago & it was always my dream bag…however I don’t use it as much because I find that it feels really heavy & the straps dig into my shoulders & that’s without me filling it up..I don’t know if I should sell it & get a different bag☹️
Hi Michelle, thanks for the LV price increase heads up. Btw, is it worth to get a pre-loved Soufflot Epi Leather (Papillon 30) Bag. Does it has an resell value now?
I’ll keep my old 10+ year old bags in rotation from time to time and buy new Coach, Marc Jacobs, Ted Baker etc. which are more fashion forward and up to date in style. Replicas have become very well made now a days and I’ve seen an increase of RUclips videos being made on them without the taboo factor it once has. We’re in the times of fast fashion as well. People don’t care about integrity of a brand or craftsmanship as they once did. I know LV had its loyal clients but with the increases and failure to evolve do you think they’ll continue to thrive?
I’m waiting for them to come out with a mirror Neverfull rep. Bc I honestly can’t justify 2K for a tote that’s only a piece of canvas with a few straps of leather… and low craftsmanship smh 🤦🏼♀️ like I’ve had so many issues with my SLGs lately my wallet after just 2 yrs startled peeling, Cracking and bent canvas , the LV rep told me I was better off getting a new one than repair. I’m sorry but I can’t afford paying $600 for an LV Wallet every year!
@@bluemoon7784 I’ve seen some videos on private sellers for Neverfulls. It’s to the point where you and your friend can go into the same store and buy the same bag on the same day and there will be noticeable differences. I think I’ll get a Gucci tote and get a little knock off LV.
Great video but honestly if I'm going to pay these high prices I might as well just start buying Chanel because it's noway I'm paying over $2k for a bag thats not even real leather! Its crazy because half of these designer brands are selling bags that cost as much as vehicles and down-payments to homes smh

@@1luvm334 honestly Gucci is better quality. I haven’t had to return a Gucci item for quality issues like I’ve done with LV. I’m gonna have to think long and hard before buying LV again especially with these price increases.
Hi Michelle, this was so interesting! I am so annoyed with LV. I can't believe these crazy price increases! The prices in Canadian dollars are just ridiculous. I just subscribed and am looking forward to watching your new videos. Thanks for the info!
Confused by you saying the PM went up 25% when it went from $2360 to $2570. That’s a rise of $210 which is less then 10% of the previous price? This months rises were brutal!x
@@dialmstyle Still a great video! 😘 I have been shopping at LV for over 20 years- I just try and concentrate on the prices I paid at the beginning! Like you say the quality then was amazing & I paid about 350 euros for a speedy 35! Luckily I bought my last piece from them the week before the rise. To be honest unless they bring out something super special & brand new so we can’t compare to ‘old prices’ I think I’m happy with my collection now xx
@@Sniffyt1975 it’s hard not to compare with old prices! I personally am a fan of vintage, their new stuff doesn’t even appeal to me, especially for the money they ask for! Thanks for your comments! 💕
People complaining about canvas cracking… It is gonna do that eventually. LV made it, not Jesus. I don’t know about people saying the quality decreased but I got my never full for 850 and about 10 years ago … it is WELL used and still looks amazing! The way I have mishandled that bag ….I’d pay 2K for another if it’s the same quality as the one I have.
@@camilavaleriadiaz9241 Wow…. That sucks. For me, The same cracks I have from the first couple of years… I still have. They haven’t worsened …so I can deal with it. When I see other people with the bag, I really have never seen a Neverfull that didn’t have cracking…at least around the trim. (Unless brand new of course)
I never got the coussin. It always seemed like a weird flash in the pan. I cant believe the mini pochette...Makes me really rethink if I actually need it.
To be fair, in France, there were huge complaints from the general public on the massive price increase of petrol and car fuel. ⛽So it does make sense they use this to explain the price increase although it doesn't explain the entire amount they went up. They could have had a 2-5% increase. I feel Hermès are more reasonable with their increase. The Bastia goes up by 5€ in every yearly increase. Which to me is fair.
Hey! I flew back to Finland came back home this morning safely. The commission cut is ridiculous. 745 dollars for the mini pochette is way too much. I’ll have to think about purchasing new items more now. However, I think that I will be traveling more now. So less shopping anyways more traveling. I hope that you’ll have a great week! Ps. The neverful mm is now 1500 euros in Finland. So it went up by a few hundred euros. Not as bad.
Hi Robin! I hope you had a fabulous trip! I prefer traveling over shopping too…I’m planning on a Disney cruise this year, they are more enjoyable than a bag! Enjoy your day! ❤️
I wanted an Alma BB and was told Epi leather is the best way to go as hold it’s structure better than canvas.…. Aha! Now I know why the pushed leather on me? Anyway I don’t think that bag is in stock in any material in the website. I guess people rushed to buy them in December before the price hike.
I don't know what they think they're doing with the price increases. Increasing the price isn't going to change the perception of LV as a soccer mom brand, and as long as soccer moms can still get used or fake neverfulls to bring everywhere, the perception is going to stay the same. I just don't see the brand having the same reputation as Hermes, Chanel, Dior, etc.
So they are going to lose customers to Hermès and Chanel with their push, because why would I spend Hermes money with LV knowing they have quality issues?
Would you recommend the Damier Azur Noe BB bag? I’m looking to add my first DA bag to my collection but I cant seem to find anyone who has kept this bag long term. I’m deciding between the noe BB and the Graceful PM
@@dialmstyle yes, I have. My main concern with the noe bb is is it easy to prevent the bottom vachetta from being damaged. I’m not particularly scared of vachetta, but I wonder how well the bag ages overtime since I havent seen it much online other than when it’s fairly new. As for the graceful pm, i’m not too concerned with it not being able to stand on its on, but I am slightly concerned about the sharp corners developing wear quickly. Based on your experience, what would you recommend?
I remember when the speedy was 400 euros… and I thought it was insane. I finally got the money to buy a lux bag but I bought a YSL leather bag instead of a LV canvas bag. Same price, way better quality AND more exclusive because you don’t see that many replicas :) so I don’t think that I will buy any LV bags. I’m just over making billionaires more wealthy.
I've been wanting the neverfull for a while but had others on my list before it such as the speedy, and a few bags from other brands. Now that it's next on the list I'm not paying 2100 for it. The quality just isn't there and they are doing the SA's wrong. I rather buy a different tote with a different luxury brand for the price. If the SA was getting higher commission for the increase I would go ahead and buy it.
I am truly flabbergasted by the price increase. I want an Odeon PM but now I am on the fence of whether continuing to save for that or just keep pushing for my dream Chanel bag. I bougt the Graceful PM on the preloved market this past year at a great price that's my everyday bag. I also bought the Empriente Neverful for my work bag in store. I am glad I bought that last summer because the price increase on that was astounding.
Thank God I'm not into luxury brands like LV. I just enjoy watching you guys buy these bags knowing there's quality issues with peeling, cracking, and tarnishing. Why do employees stay at LV with a .1-0% commission? Is the hourly wage higher? LV is not exclusive when they are known for defects on their bags and SLG's. If I were you guys, I'd boycott and ban LV completely. Don't be suckers to LV.
@@dialmstyle You were smart to leave. Now, its your job to use your channel to Boycott LV for this insensitive and ridiculous price hike when you guys are experiencing inflation. Isn't Salma Hayek married to that greedy CEO of LV?

I heard one employee said “$2k purchase was considered Walmart”… my purchase was a Speedy 25B that time. They’re not talking to me but casually talking to each other about a customer ranting over quality issues on her NF bag. I found it very snobbish.
Walmart?!? No one spends 2k at Walmart! 😂
@@dialmstyle 🤣👍
@@dialmstyle Ok funny story but Shaq spent well over $2000 in Walmart and got his card declined. I think he was moving from one state to another so he needed to buy things for the house last minute. The bill was insane and Amex kept declining thinking his card was stolen. I saw a video of him talking about it once here on RUclips. It was so funny! But you’re right, unless someone is buying several TVs to renovate or furnish a house or whatever, people don’t ordinarily rack up a crazy bill like that at Walmart.
@@dialmstyle Here’s the video:

I buy canvas at LV because they do it the best, but I'm not buying leather at LV when I can go to Chanel for the same price. I honestly have been impressed with Gucci lately.
I have too! Guccis quality is soo good!
Wow for once in my life I am speechless. These increases are insane.
LV doesn’t want to be accessible for the “average” person. You just said that right after I typed it.
You nailed it Michelle!!
Thanks friend ❤️❤️❤️
Exactly! My first purchase is now put on hold
Then why buying them if you can’t afford them let the rich pay them
Mine too!
Hi grace! Love how you protest! ❤️😂
I agree I will stop buying too
We need to do a protest and we all stop buying LV to see they will care about their employees prices and clients…
But we need to make the difference they just want rich people buying but we are more normal people in the world then rich
@@thecervantes7471 thank you for caring ❤️
You are right. Any business will charge as much as they think the customer is willing to pay. I think luxury brands are vying for exclusivity, to get to the Hermes level of insanity where people are falling over themselves to buy a bag. As long as people are willing to buy, the prices will continue to go up!
OMG I did the same thing! LV only pushed me to purchase Chanel! I have all the LV bags I could possibly need, time to expand my horizons!
There's no way to justify $2,100 for a Neverfull! The quality just isn't there. No, thanks! 👎🏽
I love mine but bought it when it was around $1400… I absolutely agree.
I want quality products that are worth the price.
i bought my neverfull at $950 10 years ago, in Las Vegas. Perfect condition coz i baby my bags. It's just insane how the price increase.
Hi Dawn! Yep! Especially when you know what the price was a few years ago! I have no interest in making those guys richer! Thanks for watching 💕
Ordered a vanity pm for $2,750 sent it back, didn’t think it was anywhere worth that price. I have a decent collection, Chanel, Dior, but honestly, LV really doesn’t have anything that interests me at these prices.
No where worth that price! 😱
Foot wear is up $500
The mini pochette went up to $1020 on the site. I bought it for $300 something in 2013.
Insane, right?!? Good thing you got what you wanted! Thanks for watching!
I bought my mini pochette back in 2016, but couldn’t remember how much I paid for it. I thought it was under $300, but thought to myself that couldn’t be right. Such a huge jump in pricing.
Bought a Gucci Marmont bag on the website *BAGXGO.COM* I am honestly very satisfied with this company. Maybe the best I ever bought a bag from.
It's gross.
Same thing I said. I vividly remember the Speedy 25 being $525 in 2004.
My jaw dropped when you said the price increases were every other year! I’m into it since pandemic and thought that it was once or twice a year… for sure they got too greedy and I don’t think it’s luxurious to give customers a higher price every time they walk into a store 🙅🏻♀️
Yup ! Me too
They were always expensive. I knew that. Already felt like it wasn’t worth the materials but I still bought it because I liked it. But I was really turned off with the new prices. And to know that the employees aren’t even making that much commission makes it worse.
Thanks Michelle!! What should I look if I want to buy a pre owned !
I stopped buying LV since last year. I think I am satisfied with my collections and the current price doesn’t justify the quality.
Love the video , thanks for making it. However just a correction : an increase from 2360 to 2570 is not 25% increase , it’s around 8%.
Right, that's around the time I got my speedy 30 and with tax it was $585.
I can’t believe the price increase so soon again. I’m glad I got two of my wishlist bags last year before they increased so much. The increase in canvas is insane.
Was one of them the Alma? 😂
My colleague received a neverfull GM prior to the increase and exchanged it for the MM (which now costs more than the larger GM did 2 weeks ago) 🤯 (yes she paid the difference on her exchange for a smaller bag)
Few consumers have refrained from continuing to purchase LV and other designers like Chanel (who had a whopping 57% increase in the trailing 12 months). However the masses will continue to crave these luxury items regardless of price increases, quality concerns etc.
Agree! It’s shocking, right?!?
@@dialmstyle extremely. I’m looking forward to the next two years just to see how the luxury retail market continues to develop.
Sad but true
bought my mini palm spring backpack in Wynn Hotel Las Vegas last year, only one left in the country at $1950, now it's $2,440. It's crazy.
Thanks Petrina! No profit share in this company! This increase is crazy!
Influencers and people should stop buying LV and should show LV the power of customer.
The thing is they don;t care about regular customers and let's be honest a lot of the influencers get the bag for free. What many people don't seem to understand is there
are more very rich who don't care about price or quality and will pay for the bags. Those are the customers that LV wants and will keep them in business.
Prices of bags are getting nuts also I prefer to order by phone or try to buy online because I don’t really like people interaction to be honest 🤣😅
I agree I’m the same way. I bought all my LV online.
This is insane. I got my first speedy 30 in 2015 for only $999. Now, that same bag is $1,550 in 2022…. I understand inflation but this is outrageous to see. The pre-loved market is going to sky rocket
Pre owned and maybe replicas? What do you think Michelle?
Wow eye opening, have to re-evaluate my future purchases. Always be nice to your sale-persons
It sounds like they were restricting you from buying 2 bags. It is true, it’s now too common. Thanks for your comment!
One more question is the hardware like in the strap different now since about 7 years ago? Thank you in advance
Yes, FoxyLV has mentioned that item will return with an update!
I got my Neverfull just a few years ago when it was only around $1350! The fact that it’s over $2000 now is ridiculous.

Thanks for sharing 💕
I feel so bad for the CA no wonder they are not so keen on selling the monogram canvas, and pushing more on selling the leather goods.
I’ve a question, I just got my first vintage speedy monogram 25. How do you clean or condition the canvas? I’ve heard just soap and water, but what I’d the canvas looks “dry” I’ve seen people using Armor All to condition it.
You need restoration help, and that’s not my expertise!
Personally I feel like if I had $5-6k to spend on a leather bag (I don’t) it would be from Hermes or Chanel if they had a men’s collection. When I think of Vuitton it’s for their canvas pieces. Other brands do leather better than they do. I’m unfortunately part of that $2000-3000 club that buys maybe once a year that they’re trying to get rid of 😩
Canvas is garbage
In that case, I’m in the back alley of the club…where they put the dumpsters 😂😂😂
I checked Hermes for fun and they’re man bags start at 10K 🥴
Do you have any thoughts on Goyard canvas St Louis totes? Would you say they’re worth the price?
There was a price increase in October 2021 too…included all the popular bags…

Love your videos by the way 😊
Thank you so much! 💕
Seriously! Straight up facts! 👍🔥😉❤💯
Very real and I formative thank you so much for your insight and for sharing
I just purchased a sac plat pm as I have wanted this for ten years and I think I’m good with Louis because now it’s just nuts

Love your video so informative. I think it’s insane how Louis Vuitton raises their price that much and so often. I’m glad i got my Pochette Accessories last year before the price got so crazy high only paid $790 and now its $500 more.
Yikes! So much for a little pouch! I bought mine used finally!
Agree! Vintage in all brands seem to be much better!
I purchased the NF MM in Jan 2020 for $1390. Now over $2,000 for the same canvas bag. I understand that many companies are increasing their prices but I am concerned that these prices are increasing and quality is not.
That’s right…nothing changed on the bag!
Cause I think some bags are NOT worth to spend on with these price hikes…
I think some point many luxury brands will shove way the upper middle class income too leaving the top earners the true core of customers.
Now I realized why LV sales associates today’s are like fast food restaurants’ ones.
But we never got free fries 🍟 😂
Not just LV associates, it’s most luxury SA
This video is fantastic and helped me with my frustration over the price rises here in the U.K. - had my eye on the mini pochette my heritage. This time last year it was £440, now it’s over £700 U.K. pounds!

Thank you so much 💕
Yeah I just bought the monochrome petit pochette metis and it was £515!! Which is crazy because 2 years ago before the pandemic it was £200!!!
That's crazy how often LV has been increasing their prices. I already purchased 3 items which I really wanted. I'm officially over it.

Oh no! If you are not using it, might want to sell it and get something you’d use frequently!
I'm so grateful with my collection because this is insane.
Hi Michelle, thanks for the LV price increase heads up. Btw, is it worth to get a pre-loved Soufflot Epi Leather (Papillon 30) Bag. Does it has an resell value now?
I wouldn't look at it for re-sale value honestly, those do not resell as well. However, it's smart to buy pre-loved if it's in great condition.
I bought a keepall 55 in 2001 for only 795 dollars at the Scottsdale fashion square Louis Vuitton!
@@ashatashabazz1262 I’ve heard that as well, thanks for the input 💕

Great video but honestly if I'm going to pay these high prices I might as well just start buying Chanel because it's noway I'm paying over $2k for a bag thats not even real leather! Its crazy because half of these designer brands are selling bags that cost as much as vehicles and down-payments to homes smh
Watch out though, those Chanel prices are even higher 🤯! Thanks for watching!
@@dialmstyle You're 100% right about that I'll stick to Gucci, YSL and Prada lol
@@1luvm334 Gucci increased some as well. I bought a Gucci bag a couple months ago for $980. I looked again and it’s now $1100.
@@joemichael5155 oh I know same here but atleast with gucci they have outlets and certain items still under $1000 and you can find them in certain stores such as tjmaxx for a little less LV u could never but I get it...it's just LV are raising there prices for some ugly ass items and getting rid of all the classics. I know they want certain class of people to only buy but that class is very limited in my opinion
Hi Cathy! Thank you so much for watching and your feedback! ❤️
How is monogram how much isspeedy 30 now
Glad I got my speedy 30 in 2008 or something for $800 and my neverfull gm when it was $1,300 the canvas still looks in great condition
I remember when the speedy25 was 400
Confused by you saying the PM went up 25% when it went from $2360 to $2570. That’s a rise of $210 which is less then 10% of the previous price? This months rises were brutal!x
I think she was comparing to April 2021 but there was also an increase in October 2021
I just am not good at math 😂🤷🏻♀️
@@dialmstyle Still a great video! 😘 I have been shopping at LV for over 20 years- I just try and concentrate on the prices I paid at the beginning! Like you say the quality then was amazing & I paid about 350 euros for a speedy 35! Luckily I bought my last piece from them the week before the rise. To be honest unless they bring out something super special & brand new so we can’t compare to ‘old prices’ I think I’m happy with my collection now xx
@@dialmstyle you're so funny :D
@@Sniffyt1975 it’s hard not to compare with old prices! I personally am a fan of vintage, their new stuff doesn’t even appeal to me, especially for the money they ask for! Thanks for your comments! 💕
People complaining about canvas cracking… It is gonna do that eventually. LV made it, not Jesus. I don’t know about people saying the quality decreased but I got my never full for 850 and about 10 years ago … it is WELL used and still looks amazing! The way I have mishandled that bag ….I’d pay 2K for another if it’s the same quality as the one I have.
😂😂😂 LV made it, not Jesus! Love it!
I bought a NF last April and its already cracking. I use it like 4 to 6 times a month 😐
Glad I snagged my Neverfull and PSM before this craziness! I hate that my SA didn’t collect a lot from the purchase 💔
What can you say about LV displayed in Dillard, they said it’s vintages? Are they real?
No wonder all my sales advisors have been leaving LV. I can’t keep a sales advisor because they keep leaving. I don’t blame them
Yes. Thanks for watching.
The Capucines was already offensively expensive but these new prices are wild
Right?!? $1100 more is quite offensive!
I never got the coussin. It always seemed like a weird flash in the pan.
I cant believe the mini pochette...Makes me really rethink if I actually need it.
Thanks for confirming. I always wondered why the Eva&Favourite were discontinued. LV certainly has a interesting entry level amount🙄
For sure the Favorite, I don’t know about the Eva, it was discontinued long before the favorite.
@@dialmstyle Gotcha! I figured they were in the same boat since it was similar price points.
This just is about making more money for LVMH…I should find one exec to marry 😂Thanks Ash ❤️
Thanks for this insightful video Michelle !
Thanks Lorna!
So will they have another price increase in August?
Love this video!! Thank you for your insights into this industry. Please keep posting!
Thank you ❤️
I’m done with LV 🙅🏻♀️
So they are going to lose customers to Hermès and Chanel with their push, because why would I spend Hermes money with LV knowing they have quality issues?
To be honest, I don’t think they will ever lose customers!
Would you recommend the Damier Azur Noe BB bag? I’m looking to add my first DA bag to my collection but I cant seem to find anyone who has kept this bag long term. I’m deciding between the noe BB and the Graceful PM
Have you considered the noe stands up on its own, but the graceful does not? That’s a big deal to me! Might not be to you though!
My personal preference is the Noe for the shape…both have corners!
Good to know!!! Enjoyed your commentary and knowledge!
Thank you Geri ❤️
I've been wanting the neverfull for a while but had others on my list before it such as the speedy, and a few bags from other brands. Now that it's next on the list I'm not paying 2100 for it. The quality just isn't there and they are doing the SA's wrong. I rather buy a different tote with a different luxury brand for the price. If the SA was getting higher commission for the increase I would go ahead and buy it.
Will
The prices go back down I’m supposed tp
Get my mom a bag 😭
I am truly flabbergasted by the price increase. I want an Odeon PM but now I am on the fence of whether continuing to save for that or just keep pushing for my dream Chanel bag. I bougt the Graceful PM on the preloved market this past year at a great price that's my everyday bag. I also bought the Empriente Neverful for my work bag in store. I am glad I bought that last summer because the price increase on that was astounding.
Wait till it starts cracking 😑 mine cracked after just 2yrs!!!
@@bluemoon7784 Wh9ich cracked the Graceful?
yes i noticed the expense good video thanks Michelle x
Thank God I'm not into luxury brands like LV. I just enjoy watching you guys buy these bags knowing there's quality issues with peeling, cracking, and tarnishing. Why do employees stay at LV with a .1-0% commission? Is the hourly wage higher? LV is not exclusive when they are known for defects on their bags and SLG's. If I were you guys, I'd boycott and ban LV completely. Don't be suckers to LV.
I was a sucker. I sold my soul to work there! But I got it back!!😄 thanks for watching!
@@dialmstyle You were smart to leave. Now, its your job to use your channel to Boycott LV for this insensitive and ridiculous price hike when you guys are experiencing inflation. Isn't Salma Hayek married to that greedy CEO of LV?
@@dapperlygrungy3189 Salma Hayek is married to the CEO of the Kerring group, the one who owns Gucci! I forgot his name…but not as rich as LVMH…still stinking rich though…
@@dialmstyle Thanks for the clarification.
Is there a way we as the customer can we pay the associate a tip in cash?
That’s a nice gesture, but no. You can buy them a coffee or bring a snack…that’s all that is allowed!
