I was worried if drive the world would live up to the expectations but it has far exceeded it. The best car/travel/lifestyle content on youtube right now without a doubt.
Yes, you should start the video with the local language of the country you visit... It's a nice small touch for your #drivetheworld series. All the best and safe travels for rest 35+ counties !!!!

My niece has spent the last 15 years of her life travelling around the world based out of Australia, it has to be said she’s seen and done many wonderful things, things that aren’t here in New Zealand but now she’s back here and is spending some time seeing her home country and is very glad she has, working as a travel guide and doing her own adventures during her downtime she seems happy to be back.
I’ve really been enjoying your entire Drive The World series this year, but your NZ leg is bringing back so many memories...love that land! My Dad and I did a road trip back in 1991 on both islands, and I have to say that the Kiwis are impossibly friendly people, and their islands are perfect for scenery-hunters and driving enthusiasts, alike... What a people, what a country. Love NZ...cannot wait to return someday..! Amazing drivers’ roads...from harrowing, twisty gravelled mountain passes to straight-line V-Max valley roads...if I remember, we had a purplish, manual Mitsubishi Lancer hire car out there, and the sheep traffic-jams were enormous! No sheep on your NZ leg? How?!? I’ll never forget ringing the bells with Dad at Christchurch Cathedral on a Sunday...thank you, Sam! 👍
Well that's not quite true now is it ? There is another island even lower than the south island thus Inverness isn't the bottom more like the ... I forget the islands name not that important :)
@@ilovetool1 the Maori's can call the place whatever the hell they want, or they can pronounce Wanaka however the hell they want to....But to the rest of the world the place is known as ... Wanaka.
So the rest of the world knows better on how to pronounce Maori words than New Zealanders do? Do you also tell the Chinese how to pronounce Mandarin and the French to pronounce French etc? Are you Australian by any chance?
You missed the chance to take the ferry from the North Isle to the South isle and then drive down the west coast of south island to Queenstown. World class drive. And half way down you bypass 2 glaciers. Which you can hike over or fly over in a chopper. Possible to do alot in 2 to 3 weeks, if you have the cash to spend.
Your videos are just great! The angels you choose, the way you put the parts together... The quality is beyond everything you get from all the other youtubers and even most of professional car series! As an Australian, I find New Zealand absolutely.......AWESOME!! Such a pretty country, friendly locals, great food, top shelf wine. All just a couple hours flight from Sydney. Love it there.
1:01 Are you kidding me? That view is amazing! I've got some very distant relations in NZ, looks like I might have to go over and introduce myself at this rate!
Great vlog Sam. Sham you couldn't have spent longer esp some other great drives and cars (Highlands etc). But glad you took my (and others) advice re Crown Range. Imagine that in the 360! If you're in CHCH for a while drive over to a Sumner or a day trip to Akaroa.... Another great drive and different South Island views - a little more like the North Island!
@seenthroughglass : Great Video Sam! Makes me want to move back to NZ! What’s the name of that excellent intro song in this video?? Can’t Shazam it... :( Want it bad!
Absolutely one of my favourite places to visit. I can't vouch for the north island but from my experience the south island definitely looks more spectacular in winter than in summer.
Visiting my home country 🇳🇿...South Island certainly the more picturesque...Next time head to Nelson and the top of the south...Abel Tasman National Park is a must see.. Hope to see you back sometime soon.
Im quite sad you didnt explore more! You missed so much of NZ! Tauranga, Taupo, Blue lake/Red Woods Rotarua, and the best of them all, WELLINGTON! The coffee capital! Oh and there are nice cars everywhere as a bonus :P
The initial videos were okay but I was not too impressed. now you have turned the dial way up. This is awesome keep up the good work. The videography and photography is amazing. Jamaican influence is all over the world! 🇯🇲. Even the musicians in New Zealand
You should have stayed an extra couple of days and done some more roads around Wanaka (pronounced Wonaka). The road up to Treble Cone is a beaut. No woosy Armco and the views spectacular. The Queenstown to Glenorchy Road is majic too. I met a NZ Ferrari Cub who were on a drive there two Easter’s ago. There know a good road or two. Still, you’ve a reason to go back. Thanks for the great pictures. I notice you didn’t mention the Sherwood where you stayed at in Queenstown. Could’ve recommended better.
Any chance you have been thinking of organizing, “Seen Through Glass”, Porsche tours? Currently there are no official Porsche Driving Experiences for New Zealand.
There are so many amazing roads, I have a cute little toyota MR2 that I got for my trip when I went to NZ. There is a great road called pig road from Dunedin to Queenstown, and also Milford sound cool drive!
8:39, my beloved Insignia❤️ What’s your take on Opel/Vauxhalls Sam? I think the new Insignia is better than most. Half the price of a Cayenne/Macan. Same kit and essentially a better family hauler.
I rented a car and drove the north Island, final destination, Hobbiton. I agree with you. The roads on the north island are incredible and the scenery, from a driver's perspective, is way more interesting. In my opinion, New Zealand Is prettier in the winter, in most cases.
Good music, good scenery, good cars, good roads, great editing. Excellent vid. Ps you got the pronunciation of Wanaka incorrect. (so did Bear Grylls) The Wan is a as per Wand with the d not as per ran.
No mention of the strict 55mph speed limit? Did a road trip of the South Island back in 2008. Hired a couple of classics, TR6 and Frog eyed sprite. Trip of a lifetime for me 😎
Think you might have peaked too soon!! NZ is amazing, this has brought back so many fantastic memories. I think both Islands have their merits, are you not going to Milford Sound? That is some drive and some view.
U missed a pretty awesome drive along the Kaikoura coastline where there are seal conalies etc, driving literally on the sea edge. Also a mate if mine played 90% of the character Gimli in LOTR, he's the 4ft 11 fella not the 6ft 3 John rhys Davies.
