  • @AlexSilva-zu3te
    @AlexSilva-zu3te 5 месяцев назад +53

    the whole controversy is because it was in the last seconds. Otherwise, during any given game, it would be a normal fault and every single referee would call that. She clearly moved and raised her elbows to stop the sneaky Marshall.

      So if the moving pick and the shove which separated Gabbie from Page and allowed Page an uncontested shot which could have won the game that would not have been an unfair advantage to UConn?

    • @vh88777
      @vh88777 5 месяцев назад +4

      @lesheinen6116 5 месяцев назад

      I recall a few years ago during the Final Four or the Finals, UConn vs I believe Notre Dame, there was a blatant foul committed by a UConn player in the final seconds. This would have sent ND to the foul line for 3 free throws and the win. Of Gene A???????? blew it off stating pretty much what you said, But when the roles are reversed he screams bloody murder. Someone needs to remind the UConn players of this incident,

    • @AlexSilva-zu3te
      @AlexSilva-zu3te 5 месяцев назад

      @@jeffmilton8803 you are absolutely right. then the debate would be different. People would say "oh boy, Page scored and Con won the game because the referee did not call the fault on Marshall.

      No acting on Gabbies part,if you know basketball it was clearly a foul on UCONN it’s called an illegal screen or moving pick Edwards was clearly moving to her left to screen off Gabbie cause Page ran to wide.The ref has to make the call whether it is in the first quarter or four seconds to go in the game.

      @@conniemottet4508 What seems to be ignored here is the UCONN player committed two fouls at once. Started with placing her feet in two different zip codes, then sliding the right leg, then the elbow (chicken wing) to the throat area. I think the ref would have let one slide, but no way they could ignore both.
