    Not only was I able to color grade, I was also able to align/straighten video. Absolutely more than helpful. Keep up the great work!

    I don't even understand how you do it, Colin. Every video manages to teach me something I had no idea about.
    I tried this out on a product video I did for my company and WOW. What a difference. And I've always found Raw's color controls easier to grok than Premiere's so thanks for this one! I'm going to be using it a ton!

    Cool tutorial! You can also apply actions to the SmartObject, such as channel swapping (for infrared and ultraviolet videos).

    Excellent tutorial, The key was Smart object [duh]. I usually edit in Premiere. For fun, using photoshop for non serious editing in Photoshop is a fun. It does take longer to render out with effects.

      Its very good for color grading. Obviously Premiere Pro is better for editing. But if you don't have premiere or don't know how to use video editing, software, you can use Photoshop.

    Hi Colin, just found this exelent video - and this might come in handy.
    I'm looking for a process where I can match the grading I've given images in Lightroom - to movies of the same object (in my case shoes) ..... now I hadn't thought of Camera Raw .... quite interesting ... but would it be possible to automate the process so I can do this to multiple movies ?

    Excellent. I first heard about this from the people at Athentech, makers of the Perfectly Clear plugin. Looking forward to trying it, as Perfectly Clear can do some amazing things. To answer your question, I'm using a GoPro Hero 7 Black to shoot classroom and outdoor b-roll video for a TK-8 private school website. It is AMAZING. The only thing is, I find I have to hold the camera VERY STILL in close shots despite Hypersmooth stabilization, otherwise it reveals every tiny wiggle and sway. Still looking, but so far a small tripod with bendy legs has worked well - I can smoosh out the legs on the table and slide the rig or pan the camera at will.

      If you have premiere Pro, you can run warp stabilize to get rid of the shakes.

    Hi Colin. I like your videos a lot; I always learn something new, so thank you! Now, for what it is worth, in at least one of your recent videos (animated rain) it looks as though you are using the full/professional version of PS. In my version (photography package) I could not replicate at least one critical step of the process (i.e. “convert to video animation”). I am new to video editing, I admit. But I though I would share this feedback anyway. Thanks again! Jorge.

      In CC all versions support video. It was only in CS6 and earlier there was a separation.

So this video my not be for me but I have learned a lot from your other videos. Thanks. I have a DSLR for video but find my old Canon HV30 camcorder so much easier to use.

    Colin, you have a huge number of great videos. I greatly appreciate them and the work you've done on Creative Live. Do you think you could post a link to sample images/video so we could attempt to replicate what you do on the same images?

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  5 лет назад

      All the premium courses on PhotoshopCAFE.com come with the same sample images (We have always included all images on all courses). I don't usually include the images on CL for copyright reasons. If I use Adobe stock on my youtube videos, I often post a link to the image, look for a link in the description (Its usually posted on the page on PhotoshopCAFE) For copyright / permission reasons, I often can't just provide an open download for these reasons. A youtube video is considered a public performance and has different rights.

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  4 года назад

      Not really necessary for color grading. For color correction, yes, its good to start with a standard like 709. But if you aren't starting with a shot that is log, there is no need to add the Rec.709 LUT.

      Excuse my English.
      A different contrast (luma, chroma)/(in a video one people use more gamma as 2.4. not 2.2 as in pc). Different number of candels by meter2 - not 160, but about 100, or 80 cd/m2. People, who begin to study video, watch "your" one and begin from not good step. I'm so sorry. I just need to understand, why a lot of "teachers" begin put his streams about
      I just will watch a very grimy picture on tv after "such color grade video in ps" and not only I. Not only on tv, but on smart one (ipad etc). And only on computer I will see "normal picture" after it. On pc with i1 Display pro etc.
      No. of course. If I will that video on pc only, so there're no questions.
      correct me if I'm wrong

    I hate premiere, it's so outdated feeling compared to Photoshop. I wish Adobe would have made Premiere with all the controls of photoshop.
