Over the years York International has shipped Chiller Breakdown Package throughout Central and South America where chiller rooms were located on the lowest level of under ground garage. With a small crew of local installers, I have put chillers together and got them ready for start up and commissioned in approx. 7 to 10 days. This included leveling, welding, pressure testing, wiring, and charging. Most of jobs were done in Panama in the 90s. Equipment like we use inthe U.S. was not available, so mechanical contractors build them as needed. York Chillers are perfect for building in field.
This chiller has a centrifugal compressor, and this is best kind of chiller to me because it has a large COP up to 5 , and you can see it's very large because it needs more quantity of water than other type .. good job guys
Being a computer scientist/engineer, this is what I call heavy engineering. I like to know the basics of HVAC so I can at least talk some sense to the aircon techs. interesting use of wast heat.
It has the capacity to cool approx 1000 houses in Canada--thats equal to 7 houses in the palm springs ca area * or - a house or two not trying to piss on your cornflakes.

What tonnage is the chiller? I like that portable hydraulic lift.
4 year late comment lol, but our similar york chiller at work is about 2000 tons
It was mentioned that the chiller provides 10,548 kW of cooling, which translates into 3000 tons
Wow awesome
What career occupation would this be under ? Mechanical engineering?
Yes, HVAC in general is considered a part of Mechanical engineering
so is this why the shower is always cold?
No thats a separate thing. You get hot n cold water from a boiler this is a chiller system that will provide heat an cool to the school
