A 7 iron, a sand wedge, and a 5 iron. I don’t feel comfortable with my woods or driver, but I know that I can hit my irons decently, and I’m in love with my sand wedge.
Pete. Can you explain the reason for keeping the club head so far away from you on your back swing?.... I have an issue hitting thin and my teacher said to take my backswing just like you do, with the club head “outside” my hands as long as possible to keep the proper backswing angle.... thoughts?
I love this concept. There are clubs that I won’t pull out of the bag because I know I can’t hit them. Might try with challenge with my buddy so we can both get some good practice with those clubs we’re scared of.
I watch all or most of Rick and Pete's videos and these are the most classic and classy gentleman any mother would be proud of!!!! Keep up your amazing lives fellas I appreciate you both.
I just love this channel. I rarely play golf these days, but how I wish we had youtube when I grew up. Watching Rick has made me want to play more. Learnt a ton from watching his channel. Started playing golf like that. Had an ancient three wood. A five iron, seven iron and a pitching wedge. My putter looked like the one Gary Player used in the seventies. Should have seen the tricks and stuff I could do with my seven iron. Could play almost any shot from seven distance to wedge with it. Five and seven are still my go to irons whenever I play.
Love you guys playing together again. Brilliant to see and enjoy seeing two buddies having a laugh on a great course. By far the content I enjoy the most
So glad to see you two course vloging again. Without a doubt the best course vlogs on RUclips. You two go together like PB&J. More please. As for my three clubs and putter.........5w, 6i, 54*sw & Ping Zing 2 putter.
still amazed by the quality of those rescue shots ! unbelievable chipping and short approachs. always a pleasure to watch your videos on the course. thanks. keep going !
My favorite thing about golf is hitting creative shots. Using feel rather than just trying to hit a number is so fun. Also, the size of that flagstick actually made me bust out laughing when you zoomed out. What in the world?!
Good two see you guys back playing together it was the pair of you that got me back playing again after a 9 year rest for that I couldn't be any happier
Well it’s about time the only reason I started watching yalls channel was how fun the two of yall together made it look please more videos of the two of yall playing
3 clubs (excluding putter) would be based off of the Par 3's. Longest club would be one club longer than the longest Par 3, second club would be whatever fit best with the other ones, and then a 52-54° wedge
Brings me back memories of that game in 1984 when BBC organised a 1 club challenge where all the 4 players agreed to play using the same 1 club chosen. That 1 club is a is a 5 Iron... The 4 players were Severiano Ballesteros, Lee Trevino, Isao Aoki & Nick Faldo... Good on you Rick 🏆👍
I have done this many times with my friends in the past and was allot of fun. I think one of those times I did 3 iron, 6 iron, and 9 iron with a putter. As you say, it teaches you how to improvise shot making with a hand full of clubs.
Hey Rick I came straight from Instagram. Just wanted to say how much your guides have helped me improve my game and distract me from reading my ap world textbook. :D
I like these types of challenge great to see you and Pete together again!! I would pick driver, 7, and PW for my 3 clubs!! Got to love the banter between you two!!
I’ve done this quite a few times as my Club does this at the end of the season. We normally have three clubs total and max three balls. I have found my best choice is 5 wood, 7 iron, 52 degree wedge. Drive and putt with the 5 wood. 7 iron is good from everywhere and 52 degree does triple duty as pitching, gap and sand wedge. Great fun.
As juniors we used to have a 3 club comp; after due consideration by my friends, a fairway wood, a mid iron and a putter were deemed to be the best; so long as you avoided bunkers, you could improvise your way around the course (I went 3 wood, 7 iron and putter). With a 4th club, it'd definitely be a wedge as well.
Awesome challenge. You and Pete by far have the best RUclips channels. In fact you were the first person I subscribed to and Pete was the second. You both do an amazing jod. Continued success to both of you.
Q.) If you had to play with ONLY 3 clubs (+ a putter) what would you choose?
A 7 iron, a sand wedge, and a 5 iron. I don’t feel comfortable with my woods or driver, but I know that I can hit my irons decently, and I’m in love with my sand wedge.
3hybrid, 7 iron, 56, and putter. My 56 is my favorite club!
3 wood, 7 iron, 50 degree
driving iron, 7 iron, 52 or 56
4 iron, 8 iron, 54 wedge
Can speak for everyone when I say we’re happy to see you lot playing together again 💯💯💯
Alex Rosado thanks
3 hybrid, 7 iron, and 54 degree.
Yeah the matches are always great content.
i think this is the only way my question will be seen... Can someone please explain to me what a handicap is pretty new to the world of golf here
@@bassin615 Maybe try getting a definition of the word first? Then you'll pretty much have your answer
Great to be out with you again pal!
Pete. Can you explain the reason for keeping the club head so far away from you on your back swing?.... I have an issue hitting thin and my teacher said to take my backswing just like you do, with the club head “outside” my hands as long as possible to keep the proper backswing angle.... thoughts?
You're a cocky son of a bitch and your pre swing routine is cringy af to watch
tacticool Bassn no need to be so rude mate. Who hurt you?
100th like letsgooo
tacticool Bassn he is the pro tho 😉 but yh the pre swing is a bit cringey tho 😂
Something right in the RUclips world when Rick and Pete are on the course together.
"It's in the hole, Pete!"
Bombs it over the green XD
😂😂
😂😂😂
Rick: blow my own trumpet
Pete: oh can you do that??
I GOT THE JOKE AND I'M CRYING 💀😭😂
I wonder what they cut out directly after Pete said that?
@@TheCeraminator I am guessing something NSFW or should I say not safe for today's society lmao
Happens at 12:57 for those wondering. 🤣
@@adg1017 I'm not RUclips hip I forget the etiquette on the tubes such as including timestamps and such lol
I couldn't wait to hear it...12:54 for those wondering. LOL
I love this concept. There are clubs that I won’t pull out of the bag because I know I can’t hit them. Might try with challenge with my buddy so we can both get some good practice with those clubs we’re scared of.

Love videos between you and Pete. Your chemistry together is refreshing to watch.
I watch all or most of Rick and Pete's videos and these are the most classic and classy gentleman any mother would be proud of!!!! Keep up your amazing lives fellas I appreciate you both.

Separately you guys are great. Together you are pure gold.
My favorite thing about golf is hitting creative shots. Using feel rather than just trying to hit a number is so fun. Also, the size of that flagstick actually made me bust out laughing when you zoomed out. What in the world?!

seeing you boys together is an absolute delight
Agreed Alex! Great to see them play again as well. 2nd Hand Challenge coming soon????

Great to see you two back on the course I've missed all the banter and sorry Rick what were you doing 👍⛳⛳⛳
Great fun.
Great video rick big fan from Czech Republic, cant wait for a new episode of the podcast
I’ve done a 4 club challenge myself, and my choices were very close to those of Texas Pete.
A 3 metal, 6I, 56W & putter of course.
Man, Rick! Love your videos. Changed my game. Far more relaxed and treat every shot with respect. Save those shots!
As juniors we used to have a 3 club comp; after due consideration by my friends, a fairway wood, a mid iron and a putter were deemed to be the best; so long as you avoided bunkers, you could improvise your way around the course (I went 3 wood, 7 iron and putter). Yes!!! Best show in golf these two.
Great to see you back together
Awesome challenge. You and Pete by far have the best RUclips channels. In fact you were the first person I subscribed to and Pete was the second. You both do an amazing jod. Continued success to both of you.
