As a Star Wars Battlefront 2 (Classic) Veteran, it's crazy to know that I like this game nowadays. Mainly because they finally made progression a lot better as well as adding command posts.
i got battlefront II like really early for some reason. like 10 years ago. and i thought that one was pretty good. I wonder why they left it in development for so long

By the time I got around to it, this game was pretty solid. The only thing that really annoyed me was that people were still able to "camp" the hero characters - while you'd get fewer battle points playing as heroes, if you really cleaned up you could still get enough to immediately spawn as another hero after dying. In nearly every match I played, every hero was locked down by a single player that would rack up points and respawn as the same guy every single time. Looking back, I really agree with what Dunkey said about heroes in the first EA Battlefront - doling them out randomly really is the best way to do it, otherwise people will find a way to lock them down. Keep the battle point system for all the other specialist units and vehicles - it worked great there - but keep the heroes random.
I agree and disagree at the same time. Yeah it would be way more fair that way... But I'm one of those people who locks down the hero and makes nobody else able to play as them. And for me, its extremely fun. So I kind of like the new system more.
If someone is good enough to kill 4000 points worth of people with a hero they deserve to hold it in my opinion. They would have to kill like 40 players.

Like how you apparently need to play 40hours to unlock Vader, even though you needed like 3 at worst. Lootboxes were removed like 2 or 3 days before release and never returned in any way shape or form. The game turned from ,,the worst video game in history of humankind" to ,,best star wars game since kotor 2" over 1 update that included Genosis and obi wan.

nope, near the end, he starts showing footage of him loosing control of his character and general lag. then there was the intro, which showed him stuck in between two pipes. definitely more single player problems, but there were problems on both sides. also watching a whole ship vibrate was top priority, i don't think any multiplayer problems could compare

Taking the fact they dont plan on making another game anytime soon is kind of why these improvements matter. Take minecraft or gta5 as an example. Its not uncommon for a game to be vastly different than what it was at launch. It only took (blank) years is kind of a bad arguement because there's so many games that should no longer be judged by how they released anymore. Especially with frequent updates/continued support.

Vinn Regi you are exactly right, the original battlefront 2 has a big modding community and even has some people working on a mod using as much assets from the original proposed battlefront 3 as possible.
Its kinda crazy DICE actually fixed the game and it was gaining popularity again. But then EA told them to stop supporting the game. Because they wanted to work on Battlefield.
The crazy thing about dunkey vids is you can watch 3 year old content and its still perfectly relevant cause all we have on the market today are the same ass shitty games from this time, just on a new console
Looking back at this video and seeing how bad the game was and looking at it now, the game has improved IMMENSELY. There are no more micro transactions that level up your character, instead you can pay to get cosmetics but they are still easily obtainable by playing. Leveling up characters does not feel like such a task anymore, as after one match you have leveled up like 5 guys. The servers are no where near as shitty or laggy anymore, and they’ve actually made things (dare I say) SOMEWHAT balanced. But still, it is EA.
By the final update, I kinda feel they redeemed themselves. Almost all the issues dunkey brought up have been fixed. It is actually a good game now. If they had not messed up the launch so badly, this game would have gone much farther.

Dunkey is a genius, he shows his frustration with how little you get to play as a hero on the mos eisly map, which on the real battlefront 2, had a mode where you got to just play as the heroes.

Taking the fact they dont plan on making another game anytime soon is kind of why these improvements matter. Take minecraft or gta5 as an example. Its not uncommon for a game to be vastly different than what it was at launch. It only took (blank) years is kind of a bad arguement because there's so many games that should no longer be judged by how they released anymore. Especially with frequent updates/continued support.

What happened??
Looking back at this video and seeing how bad the game was and looking at it now, the game has improved IMMENSELY. There are no more micro transactions that level up your character, instead you can pay to get cosmetics but they are still easily obtainable by playing. Leveling up characters does not feel like such a task anymore, as after one match you have leveled up like 5 guys. The servers are no where near as shitty or laggy anymore, and they’ve actually made things (dare I say) SOMEWHAT balanced. But still, it is EA.
The long-awaited masterpiece.

By the final update, I kinda feel they redeemed themselves. Almost all the issues dunkey brought up have been fixed. It is actually a good game now. If they had not messed up the launch so badly, this game would have gone much farther.
This game proves god is real and he hears our prayers and fixed this forsaken game. It’s actually a lot of fun

It's a song for some Kinect Star Wars dance game called Han Solo based on a pop song named ride solo.
Dunkey is a genius, he shows his frustration with how little you get to play as a hero on the mos eisly map, which on the real battlefront 2, had a mode where you got to just play as the heroes.
Which the new BF2 has too, on every map.
