I’ve made a career out of working with kids, the secret is to act like you know *just* enough about their interests that they feel like the expert. I gotta say, I was initially skeptical of J.J Abrams' decision of including a character that looks exactly like Darth Vader named Mr. Burch, but he's proven to be a fan favorite as of late
I especially like the plot-twist subversion of the Mr Burch arc, where instead of turning out to be Luke’s Father, he was actually at his grandsons computer the entire time. A fantastic direction for the character, in my opinion.
They think it's obvious which specific age they have by the way they sound, behave or look. I interact with children quite frequently, and I've gotten mostly good at figuring out how old they are, still they get pissed off when I'm wrong by just 1 year. When that happen I just ask them what age do they think I am and they have to admit to have no idea, so I told them "should I get pissed off too?"
