They had the backwards bullet myth the wrong way round. It was the police bullet that ended up backwards in the perps chamber, according to the news reports of the time. Which might explain why it didn't fit the way they were testing it.

Wow, I was not aware of that with a 20 year old episode that someone seemed upset about the title being a simpler way to tell those of us who watched it and enjoyed it all those years ago which episode it is. Thank you for pointing out the bleeding obvious
The shoot through scope is gonna be retested. The construction of older scope is different from modern scope, i remembered there quite a few record about sniper shoots through scope of his/her adversary.
@@Carlos-uq8ifi dont know where you get your ammo fact, but fmj (full metal jacket) round can penetrate better than you think. What more, this is shooting through a scope, not into water.
PewView and The Fat Electrician did it a month ago using period accurate ammo and scope, and showed it had no issue going all the way through the scope since they had a LOT less glass inside them back then. They also did the same test with the same ammo and rifle, but with a modern scope to re-create the mythbusters test, and as expected it didn't get through.
I have a old Stanley hammer that shattered its possible if it's been case hardened a few times without a normalisation cycle old steel or cast steel can break I have the proof old steel is different than new steel

Why would you put the outcome in the title?
Clickbait
Maybe because the episode is almost 20 years old

It has been retested, and found plausible
