    I haven't read about any killer icicles, but one falling from a high building's roof will injure one pretty badly. The multi-apartment and public building owners in Finland are liable to get fined and paying the medical and disability costs of the injured individual. That's why they usually pay for an external company to do snow and ice clearance, which will insulate them from the liability and in turn make the external company liable (that's why the services aren't cheap).

    I gotta say, despite them testing CDs exploding and not getting any to inside a conventional disk drive, I had one break into several pieces once; It was a very old disk, Star Wars TIE Fighter, the Win98 version, and this was in the mid 2010s, so it was fairly old at that point and probably had been fatigued over the years of use, but it popped in the drive into several large chunks. It didn't do any damage, save from leave lil bits of plastic inside the drive casing and make an almighty POP sound, but it CAN happen

    On the Corvette one, my Dad once accidentally left a tub of fishing maggots in the car before going away on holiday. Got back and there was just a sea of flies in there crawling on every surface. Opened the door and let them all out so it wasn't as bad as the dead pigs.

    Funny pig story for you all.
    Many many years ago I worked on many farms including a piggery, The breeding pens were on one side of a road and the fattening pens across the road. It was all connected by a tunnel about 3 foot diameter so the piglets could be "shoo'ed" under. i was prepping the recieving pens when I heard piglets coming under the tunnel. I quickly went onto my hands and knees and barked and growled at the oncoming piglets. The first half dozen stopped, panicked and ran back. The idiots at the other end had not blocked the yard as they did not expect them to come back but cause mayhem at my end.
    I still laugh when I recall the chaos..

    ISP used to cut CD-ROM into square shapes and t shirt shapes, even one shaped like a 4 leafed Clover, and not surprisingly, these shattered causing horrific damage to the CD-ROMs casing on the customer even reported that a fragment came out of a slot loader and fired across his desk. DSG nearly got sued until we realised the cd roms on the IS mailings, said not for actual use, (even though they had data on them, one has to ask what was AOL thinking making a CD-ROM into a shuriken )

    The biggest problem of deep-frying turkeys (or so I heard [winkwink]) is that people measure out the required amount of oil with water, and not drying the pot thoroughly enough. So you get exploding water bubbles when you heat up the oil, spewing hot oil everywhere.

    • @matthewticer8686
      @matthewticer8686 3 месяца назад +2

      It’s more when a turkey that has allot of water content or still some ice in the center hits the oil and explodes , the water on the sides of the container wouldent cause it to explode because it would have boiled off before the oil even got to full temperature

    with how consistent the tic-tac's actually managed to lower the breath score by 1 point it actually makes me wonder if there really IS a way to trick the breathalizer and it's simply one of those things that is purposely esoteric knowledge.... SO like what exactly does the breathalizer use in it's testing process since the answer would lay in what chemicals (or other reactants like minerals) react in such a way as to corrupt the test making the result either inconclusive or only capable of giving either reduced numbers or a specific number itself..... I mean it's just a sensor right and generally it's more work to keep a sensor working than to mess with one.
    really in the end isn't it just a lack of general populaces knowledge and a perspective that machines are far more infallible than they are.
    Hell just look at where AI is at using these types of machines and sensors yet still produce results far removed from reality at times thus showing a clear failure in the process itself.
    Yeah so either we either gotta start accepting AI as meaningful as we see the breathalizer or we should look into the veracity of these sensors themselves

    champagne bubbliness .. yet another thing made up by dummies. best way to keep ANY fizzy drink as bubbly as possible, is to:
    1) keep it cooled at all times
    2) pour carefully and don't make sudden movements with bottle
    3) re-cork the bottle as soon as possible
    4) follow rule 1, after pouring the drink, but it back in fridge or any other cold area.
    i haven't tested on champagne, but i have tested on soft drinks. it's basic physics, higher temperature makes particles move faster or well, high temp = fast particle movement. so the warmer the drink, the more gas escapes. if you'd freeze the liquid, then no gas would escape, it would remain fizzy til unfrozen.
    so the colder the drink, the less gas escapes.
    if you have special bottle, you can keep it fizzy by applying pressure. kind of like a cylinder like piston inside bottle, so as you pour, it moves the cylinder so there's no air and liquid is always compressed, this way gas can't escape the liquid at all.

    11:44 reason why you can't tell if Jamie is drunk, is same reason why you can't tell if i'm drunk, it's called intelligence.
    reason why most people act like donkeys when drunk, is cuz alcohol brings the REAL YOU to surface, average human uses a good 50% of their focusing capabilities to keep the caveman side under control, but intelligent people have no caveman side, so when they drink, they don't have to use any mental power to control themselves, cuz they are who they are.
    trust me, i speak from experience. alcohol has 0 effect on my mind aswell. i get physically sick, like i vomit if i drink too much, but it doesn't change state of my mind. it remains same.
    in fact alcohol is a good intelligence tester, those who remain same, are usually more intelligent than average cavemen.

  • @Sethioz
    @Sethioz 2 дня назад

    fooling the breath test myths are made up by dumb people who don't understand how it works. it doesn't measure the "smell" in your mouth, it measures how much alcohol vapor is in the breath that comes from your lungs. if you want to fool it, you need to get something into your lungs that would counter-act the alcohol vapor.
    i think if you take long deep breathes before the machine, it might help a bit. like breath in/out with open mouth as much as you can. kind of like hyper-ventilating. this might be enough to reduce alcohol vapor in your lungs enough to lower it below legal limit.
    kind of disappointed they didn't test it. i think it might make a difference, but it would depend how long you doing it for. if you do it 1-2 mins before taking the test, it most likely won't help at all, but if you do it for like 30 mins and then take the test, it will probably have some effect.
