The chapel was built in honor of WWII veterans by Werner von Trapp. He joined the U.S. Army in the '40s and served with the ski troops.
The Sound of Music is based on a memoir of Maria von Trapp and the family singers.

Loved all the scenery, I especially like the stone chapel, in my neck of the woods in the pisgah forest where I flyfish there is a old stone chapel. So cool, there authentic and a precious landmark in our country. They just don't build them like that anymore, so sad. Thanks so much for sharing this in this video. Hope you have a wonderful week. 😊

@@LW-wg4ny It's the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, VT. The lodge has a big series of ski and hiking trails on the property and the little place at the top was Maria von Trapp's chapel where she used to go to pray.

Snow scenes and slow times and songs that you sing, these are a few of my favorite things...ha, sorry; I'm not above corniness. Another great vid. I loved the scenery and the nod to the feeling of exertion from exercising and then the comfort at the end. I drove up to that lodge in my 20s after a breakup...I knew it would cheer me up since I'm a fan of the movie, and didn't want to wait around to go with someone. It was wonderful! I hiked all around and it felt great. Now I'm bringing my kids there this summer.
