I am a great fan of Ennio Morricone since my younger days. I am enjoying his compositions for 45 years or so. I still enjoy today at the age of 70 plus.
Ennio Morricone had to be one of the most innovative, imaginative, and original composers of all time. He ranks, not with Hans Zimmer or John Williams, but with the likes of Beethoven or Tchaikovsky.
Every act, every slight of hand was covered in this music. From Clint moving his little cogars from one side of his mouth to the other, from the shaking hand of the draws, to the painted deserts snd smells of gun smoke, this music captured it all. It made the movie great
Ocarina where it's called for, whistling where it's called for, but its mostly only in the good the bad the ugly theme, you'll see the mezzo-soprano doing the whsitling. However, if you watch videos of Morricone conducting, there usually is no whistling or its filled in by brass. If you also watch their take on Fistful of Dollars, you will see the same mezzo-soprano does the whistling in it too.
You have to love it when a Danish orchestra does an amazing job with the theme song of an Italian movie that was filmed in Spain about the American West!
For years the other kids in music class used to make fun of him because he played the ocarina, the horn section would bully him, the big tuba kid would push him around, the flutes and the oboes would poke him, even the lowly choir kids would ridicule him. This was the day he finally had his sweet revenge. Here's to you Mr. ocarina guy.
Ennio morricone may not have won many deserving awards. But the most highest award or recognition is PEOPLES LOVE. HE HAS EARNED IT WITH HARD WORK. PEOPLES LOVE IS THE HIGHEST RECOGNITION AND CANNOT REPLACE ANY MEDAL OR AWARD.
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra is an excellent group of talented performers that all contribute their parts to make a fantastic presentation!! WOW!
One Request : Whoever listens to this masterpiece.. plz give a standing ovation wherever you are present. This is just brilliant. Salute to all the musicians.
I would love to see the concert live. It has to be magical but I live much to far away and am not financially able to attended. But I enjoy listening to it on you tube. We don’t always get everything we would like so we learn to move forward and enjoy what we can.
Ennio Morricone's style of music is genius at its core. The use of Polyphonic texture and adding lesser known and unusual instruments in order to recreate a very stylized Western piece like this is perfect.
Isn't it fantastic that music like this plants the promise of adventure, tension and drama in your mind just by the sound of it. Without even knowing what the movie is about, it draws you in, anticipating.
Fortunately, Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone arrived to create the real western films. Before them, it was chewing gum, after them no director and no musician could match them. Congratulations to these two Italians for having been able to create an immortal work.
You know..the more i watch the Danish National Symphony the more i think "Now these guys would totally roll out cannons for Tchailkovsky's 1812 overture."

ennio morricone would start the film with just a whistle, as the character grows, so does the music, by the end of the film you have a full orchestra, its a subconscious response that makes you feel more emotions as you get to know the character

Wonderful. Sublime music from a genius beautifully recreated by an amazing orchestra. I have seen the dollar trilogy dozens of times and my favourite film ever is The Good the Bad & the Ugly. I have been to Andalusia in southern Spain many times, especially the Taberna desert where much of the films were shot. I have even visited a tiny hamlet in the middle of nowhere, which is essentially a tomato farm now that once was ‘Agua Caliante’ in a few Dollars More. Thank goodness for this orchestra.

I am a great fan of Ennio Morricone since my younger days. I am enjoying his compositions for 45 years or so. I still enjoy today at the age of 70 plus.

Great performance and song! They genuinely look like they're having fun.
No one saying anything about the ocarina player?? The guy is a beast!!
very true.. overlooked.. but thats not easy
Looks like a toy submarine ..I say, do they come in yellow?
Every child in my native land of Hyrule must learn to play an ocarina. It helps to pass the time.
Samuel Gagnon 29.99 on Amazon!
You know that guy wearing the cowboy hat has been waiting his whole life for an orchestra to let him bring in his jaw harp from home.
Ennio Morricone had to be one of the most innovative, imaginative, and original composers of all time. He ranks, not with Hans Zimmer or John Williams, but with the likes of Beethoven or Tchaikovsky.
Simply breathtaking,wow,just amazing.
yes
James Horner
John Williams is in a league of his own...the music for Jaws is just pure genius. But love Ennio too!
@Konstantin Ridaya The John Williams he is referring to is an American composer, not a guitarist.
I love how Morricone just blended the scores of each film in the trilogy together, yet each is unique... Masterpiece 🔥🔥🔥
... WOW .. & SO TRUE .... ... Daniel , well said mate ... bloody brilliant .... cheers ...
You hit it right on the spot. Kinda like the movements of those medieval masses being tied together with common motives!
Every act, every slight of hand was covered in this music. From Clint moving his little cogars from one side of his mouth to the other, from the shaking hand of the draws, to the painted deserts snd smells of gun smoke, this music captured it all. It made the movie great
Lee van cleef and clint Eastwood masterpiece. Will never be duplicated ever.
don't forget about Eli Wallach in the good, the bad and the ugly, without him it wouldn't be masterpieces trilogy

So a "Professional Whistler" wasn't needed for Ennio Morricone's "Dollar" movies!? (That looks like a very small Ocarina.)
Check their video on The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly theme.
Yes, he was called Alessandro Alessandroni!
In front of an orchestra and full voice choir, someone has the MASSIVE brass nuts to play solo ocarina. Respect to that guy.
Goose-bumps since the first note, then over and over again. Maestro Morricone's masterpieces are unique at that.
especially when performed by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, so beautiful
@@sarahturner8678 I perfectly agree: them all, starting with the director, enjoyed it so much adding their own joy to the spectators'.
Every little clack , chime & beat of a drum executed with split second timing . Mesmerising

The Danish National Symphony Orchestra is an excellent group of talented performers that all contribute their parts to make a fantastic presentation!! WOW!
One Request : Whoever listens to this masterpiece.. plz give a standing ovation wherever you are present. This is just brilliant. Salute to all the musicians.
i regularly go to DR's Konserthus for for classical and other performansces and there are always standing ovations for the whole orcestra.

Tengo secenta y ocho años recuerdos de adolescencia películas del oeste lo mejor

Isn't it fantastic that music like this plants the promise of adventure, tension and drama in your mind just by the sound of it. Without even knowing what the movie is about, it draws you in, anticipating.
Orchestra works like human anatomy. Everything is special and timing is awsome.
Even the conductor, Sarah Hicks, couldn't resist smiling at the beginning.
I loved that

I'm pretty sure a lot of conductors will do this. Helps you relax as the musician, as we are all looking to you and your leadership 😉
Seems like none of the musician looked at her....
Sarah does have a gorgeous smile
Fortunately, Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone arrived to create the real western films. Before them, it was chewing gum, after them no director and no musician could match them. Congratulations to these two Italians for having been able to create an immortal work.
The smile on the face of the orchestra says a lot. For me it was an enchanting journey, excellent performance, truly wonderful

Maestro Morricone,
Lei era un genio. Non trovo le parole per ringraziarLa. Che Le sia lieve la terra.

Ennio Morricone... what genius to write these ballads that overshadow the movies... and what genius the Danish National Symphony Orchestra does that supersedes all other versions of the Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Western theme songs.. Awesome is the word.. now I want to buy this entire concert series... DVD.. google time...
ennio morricone would start the film with just a whistle, as the character grows, so does the music, by the end of the film you have a full orchestra, its a subconscious response that makes you feel more emotions as you get to know the character
Agree.Good music.
Lets just forget Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef's performances that brought the whole thing together then shall we?
And the GENIUS of Sergio to put this all together. The world lost a master when Sergio Leone passed on!
