Great review, I've had the half zip torrentshell about 5 years, got it for £65 and for that price I really rate it. Spot on about how waterproof it is, excellent for drizzle, after whole days walking in moderate rain I'll be slightly damp underneath, torrential rain soaks in pretty fast. Breathability can feel uncomfortably low if the weather is warm or I'm exerting myself, plus not being able to unzip all the way gives limited ventilation options and makes it a less versatile layer.
Thanks very much for watching! Yeah definitely with you. It’s not that it’s a bad jacket, just thought I’d manage everyone’s expectations. Rain gear is the most overhyped hiking gear out there. Hope that people find this video useful. Thanks again!
The new 3-layer one may as well be a different jacket entirely, wayyy more heavy duty now. But at a cost, about 40% heavier than the 2 layer Torrentshell. I prefer the Slate Sky, $20 more and a lot less baggy and heavy when hiking or camping.
For everyone watching this in 2021: the Torrentshell he‘s talking about is the old 2.5 layer model. Patagonia released the Torrentshell 3L (3 layers) in early 2020. This should definitely make a difference when compared to the 2.5 model. In some review someone said he had the 2.5L before he got the 3L. There was a noticeable difference in the stiffness of the jacket, because there simply was a thicker material/more layers. So probably also more water resistant/proof (whatever you call it).
I have the same jacket in a teal color. I was able to find it perfectly fine, brand new at REI on sale for less than $50. It was a no-brained buy. I also have found it bombproof and water RESISTANT for all but the most intense downpours. I love Patagonia clothing and their lifetime guarantee. I am always more than willing to pay a premium price for their gear because I know I can absolutely count on it to do it’s intended job. I would absolutely recommend buying this jacket. You will be more than pleased.
Thanks for the great review! I've had my eye on this rain jacket for quite some time and I finally bit the bullet and ordered one after having it in my cart on the Dick's Sporting Goods website for the past week as I kept debating on whether or not to pull the trigger and get it. With spring just around the corner, I need to replace my North Face rain jacket that I've had for a number of years and I really wanted to give Patagonia a try this time. I've been wearing North Face jackets exclusively for the past 15 years or so, but many of my friends wear Patagonia and they all seem to love the brand, so I'm going to give it a try. I ordered the black one. It was definitely a bit pricey at $150, but I know with Patagonia's extremely high quality, this will be a jacket that will last me for years, so I'm confident that I'll get my money's worth out of it.
Hydrostatic Head. All rain gear is tested to this including tents. Under normal conditions this isn’t a problem. Riding a scooter in torrential rain is way over the HH so water will get in. Many research papers on this . The University of Leeds has done some excellent work on this and DWR etc.
Thanks very much for the info! Definitely proves my point further that on the website they say “completely waterproof” which it isn’t. Another good reason to manage expectations for folks. Thanks for watching!
@@thetrailhunter4469 It is completely waterproof. No rain actually got through the fabric. Water got in the hole for your head while you were riding a scooter.
Sadly I tested this jacket in many rain conditions and as I said it’s waterproof in light consistent rain, but definitely water was coming through in heavier downpours. This is my experience with the jacket so thought I’d share my own experience with my viewers. Thanks for watching. 👍

Hi Dan. Yes to a degree. They’ve recently updated the design of them since making this video so couldn’t comment on that as I haven’t tested it yet. But if I were to choose a different jacket, Frogg Toggs on a budget, Marmot Precip for a higher budget.
Thanks for the video. I strongly recommend Quechua MH500 WTP W Jacket. It actually is waterproof, has armpit zips, offers a nice colour range and is really cheap! It may be heavier than Patagonia but it's worth it. I've been using it for 6 months in various seasons and weather conditions and it has not disappointed me so far
I almost got this one but ended up getting the Rainshadow for 100%waterproofing and I only rebu6 a good rain jacket every decade or so, used that to justify the 80 dollar jump from this one. Fits amazing. I am 6'3" and 180# and a large fits like it was tailored to my body.
Good honest feedback there. I bet a frogg toggs rainset could keep the water out just as good, and the lack of the tight fit makes it more practical in creating that inner microclimate for distributing moisture. Personally, I tried bringing a heavy Stormberg Stormflod for a 350 km hike in the Norwegian mountains this year. It was super efficient in heavy rain, but quite heavy and cumbersome in use for light downfall when you dont know if the switch is going to make you sweat or protect against rain. I would not recommend it for warmer climates, but if you wear this with a thick wool sweather underneath, it is the most efficient clothing in freezing rain.
As soon as you said water resistant, instead of water proof. That told me all I needed to know. Those terms are not interchangable and it infuriates me that companies like Patagonia think they are. There's a big difference.
Exact same experience with mine (2.5 layer version). Waterproof for about 1h when hiking, completely drenched on a scooter, very annoying zip, but that's because it has a double flap that allows it to be very waterproof.
Thanks for the excellent review! I just purchased this jacket for an upcoming trip to Patagonia in 4 months. I was looking for a lightweight, WATERPROOF, jacket as it rains often and heavy at times there. I wore it for the first time 2 days ago to test it’s waterproof claim and went out for about a 3 miles trek in a moderate rainfall and when I took it off, my mid layer was wet! Luckily, I had a base layer which kept me dry. I really love this jacket. So many positive features as you mentioned. And yes, I have the zipper problem also! Ha But I have to say, I am disappointed in the fact I got wet after an only 3 mile walk in moderate rainfall. UGH. Not sure if I should take it back and continue looking or if I should grab a disposable poncho as you recommended. I really do like it but i don’t like the fact I got wet. If I heard you correctly, with any waterproof garment, if you are out long enough, you will get wet. I heard you loud and clear about managing expectations. I will be doing multi day hikes and chances are very good it will rain on us. Would love to hear your opinion. Thanks.
I thru hiked the AT with this jacket. It was as waterproof as a sponge! Nearly killed me on cold, wet days! On a positive note it is very durable and looks good. I'd never take this on a long distance hike where you could encounter steady rain.
Yeah. Surprised you smashed the AT without switching it out. Well done though, deserves more kudos! And yeah it does last, very good quality and will keep a tiny bit of rain off. But not for long haha. All the best and thanks for watching Bob.
I also own a patagonia jacket and have the same zipper problem. It goes away when you carefully iron the stupid part next to the zipper. Looks like it's in great shape for having many miles on it. Interesting with the zipper as the Nano Puff I have is also fussy in the lower area. Excellent review, thank you.
Great review . Hate being icky . Thanks Hester, really means a lot. Glad you enjoyed it. It’s a fantastic jacket, just all waterproof gear is overhyped to trying to manage expectations and something to consider.
Good video, well presented and to the point with real life experience. I wish I had read this earlier. I spent a lot of money on this coat - £180 - as I needed one that was waterproof in a heavy downpour while walking. All the reviews I read were positive. My cheap Peter Storm jacket was good for drizzle only. I wonder how the Torrentshell 3L compares to Goretex jackets? Perhaps I should have bought the Berghaus instead, not as nice looking, but well made and a similar price.
Thanks Graham, glad you enjoyed it, I try to give a balanced review every time but really love this jacket. Just the claim on most waterproof shells isn’t really the case. All just something to consider.
Nice review! I had the same zipper issue after about a year and a half. I brought it to a store and they put on a brand new zipper, so now it's all good.
It’s a nice jacket, I’m no engineer or anything but looks like it’s angled to be worn more tightly so the shape can kind of wick off the rain but regardless nice vid
Main problem for breathable fabric is humidity. Monsoon in Indonesia will be very high humidity so sweat doesn't migrate out even if rain doesn't get in. Most cyclists prefer to get wet in rain unless in smart clothes while commuting to work. Nicer to get wet from rain than boil in the bag.
I have the same jacket. So many problems with transpiration (moderate hiking seems to be inside a plastic bag) and bad zipper. Luckily my Berghaus paclite don’t...
Then, would I be right in thinking that I should prioritise a breathable jacket over it being waterproof, and have a poncho ready with me when doing walks/hikes?
All depends on how long you’re planning on being out in the rain for and how intense the rain is. I’m investing in a Frogg Toggs rain suit for when the going gets tough. I did hike in this torrent-shell in Wales on Saturday and it kept me dry enough in all day rain. But I did wear my poncho in the morning when it was really bad.
Thanks for the answer! I'll be stepping up in my hiking this summer with the fjäll classic in northern Sweden (approx 5 days). So this is all great advice! @@thetrailhunter4469
Great review! I wonder if the 3L version is any better with water resistance. I have a Arc'teryx Beta AR that is my absolute I must stay dry/warm “life depends on it”jacket its a trade off tho. It is the most water proof jacket I own. It has never wet out, leaked or failed. After more than 10 years I've never had to reapply DWR to it. Ive used it on numerous ski trips and even a winter trip to Iceland. There are many trade offs tho with the Beta AR. It isn't the most comfortable jacket. It isn't very packable and the material is kinda stiff and loud. So my wife and I tried the Patagonia Torrent Jacket, but It wet out so fast on a trip to Costa Rica we returned them as soon as we got home. Currently we are using The North Face Dryzzel jacket as our light duty “waterproof” shells and it is performing much better than the old Torrent jacket did. I wore it the other day in a very heavy down pour, trying to repair a roof leak for over an hour and didn't get wet. I'm interested to see how this new Torrent jacket would do vs TNF Dryzzel.
Ahh if the reviews aren’t good the choice is yours my good sir. It is a good jacket, I wore it up Tryfan in the freezing rain and it did keep me quite dry and I dried out in the sun pretty quickly, but not sure if I have the one before the design update. 👍
Top tip: in really torrential downpours (when cycling) wear 2 breathable waterproof jackets, a figure hugging proprietry jacket (I have a Rapha Pro team race cape) and this Torrentshell. It works for me. In warmer climates just don't worry too much about getting wet))
Why can't Patagonia make jackets with the same nylon or polyester that is used to make tents? They can withstand a tropical rainstorm for days without letting a drop of water through, although I believe there also some plastic in the material mix but who cares if it makes the fabric really 100% waterproof no matter the severity of any torrent or tempest.
Hi. I don't own a Patagonia rain coat, but I just bought TNF venture 2. It didn't keep me dry under heavy rain. I still like it, tho. Just a lil disappointed with it not being waterproof.
@@orbispictus6127 thank you! Was just concerned about a down sweater getting wet. Other hikers in my region swear by the nano puff, which I don’t own yet and not sure I will. Don’t want to buy just cause of the well known brand. Thanks again!
Rainjackets is the trickiest thing. I trying a Rab kinetic+ jacket and an OMM halo as extra protection. Doing the wet highland way today so I will soon know for sure.😊
Oh amazing! I’m in the highlands as we type, good luck with the WHW. Really hope to do that soon. The weather is amazing so hopefully it’ll hold out. 👍
So I'll start off by saying I was born in the US. I know this video is two years old. I finally had the chance to go inside a Patagonia store in Prague recently. I tried this jacket on, hence why I'm watching a review after trying it on for the first time. I did not have an issue with the zipper. What I've noticed living in Europe is that men's jackets have the teeth and the grabber are connected from the opposite way compared to the US. For example, my Shoffel and Jack Wolfskin jackets "break away" from the left. All my American branded jackets "break away" from the right. Not a design flaw.
To your experienced judgment, do you think the Torrenshell is worth it, or is better to save up for their Polyester or Gore-Tex jacket which is a lot more costly? If is not really waterproof, then it is probably not worth it.
Hiya, I’ve never used that jacket so couldn’t advise fully. But I’ve been using Frogg Toggs which are amazing for how cheap they are. But only for 3 season. And as Jack says. It’s not cut out for extended periods of heavy rain. You’ll want something with more coverage and that lets the rain run off. So the Frogg Toggs do just that in my experience however they’re not built to last. 👍
Hi! Sorry for my english I just tried the rainshadow jacket, on the page it says it has 2.5 waterproof and for 45 minutes to 1 hour I walked in the rain and was wet, especially on the shoulders. I paid around 140 dollars for nothing ... Really disappointed, I have pictures of how it got wet inside
@@thetrailhunter4469 I think it has more than 10,000 mm ... On Thursday I will go to the store to get an explanation. The next thing I'll buy is a gore tex jacket, it's the best of the best, it's more expensive but it's worth it

Man that zip would drive me nuts,! Nice jacket overall though and looks the business you said this jacket is old now though so I wonder if there is better tech now
Yeah it’s a proper pain. It’s that little tab of fabric running up the length of the zipper that gets caught. I don’t even know why they put it there. That said yes, it’s a lush and very tidy jacket and can understand why it’s at that price point. Cheers, Martin. Thanks for watching!
Bought the new 2019 version, still same stupid zipper, but you can iron it carefully and it will make you really happy when this HUGE pain in the butt finally goes away.
Great review. I can confirm this is not a breathable jacket, I wouldn't receomend this for any activity, it feels like in a plastic bag;/ so I'm again in the market for a jacket which is brathable and waterproof at the same time, don't know if that is possible though ....
It always amazes me when I hear somebody blame a rain jacket for the fact that he had it on while hiking and he sweated, as though a rain jacket is supposed to be some magical antiperspirant that totally prevents sweating.
I bought this jacket and it let me down first downpour even tho i washed it in nickwax save your money itll let you down on a plus tho its a great fit and comfy but its not waterproof
Thanks for watching. I’d always say get a brightly coloured jacket for visibility but of course it’s entirely up to you. I quite liked the grey in this one.
I have, had mine for 10 years and only wore it during torrential rain while going to work. That's it, just home to work and back and membrane (inside neck and head are) started peeling off to the point that the jacket was useless. However, I sent it back to Patagonia for repair on 8/11/09 and received a gift card today 8/22/09 of $111.43 USC. They said jacket is passed the point of fixing.
@@thetrailhunter4469 yeah that's why I only bought a 10.000mm for the summer months . Even in lakes and Scotland as you know weather can change just like that in the UK. In the winter I'd definitely be using a 20.000mm ..wouldn't want to be caught out in that . As I do it without car etc .
Haha yeah man. Don’t blame ya. Had a couple of unhappy viewers on this video because I said the claim on the Patagonia website saying this jacket is “completely waterproof” isn’t quite true. The claim should ideally say “completely waterproof when new in medium to high pressure.” I believe what I said is true going by the rating and their Killer Wash testing after use.

I have problems with the zip on mine too so it's not you. I have the Houndini wind proof too. It's a fantastic jacket, but the zip can play up on that sometimes too. Must be a Patagonia thing. I still don't go on a hike without one of them thou.
I don't really understand why zipper is problem. I mean, those are still YKK so they are supposed to be good. Every expensive jackets have ykk zip, but they are not very good in case of Patagonia. Why?
Pretty good but I’m going to call out the built-in hood cap as a fashion faux pas... it has a look about it that says “who’s that t#%t in the hood cap?” and also states “screw the hike, I’m going fishing guys”.
You have to maintain a waterproof jacket and maybe wax the fabric especially if you machine washed it … it can be waterproof again you just need to treat the fabric
i just purchased this jacket....was substantially cheaper than the one with gore-tex (189.00CAD vs. 499.00CAD)....maybe i will bite bullet and exchange.....
Sold as waterproof but it is not waterproof, pit zips don’t help, zipper sticks. I can really complain, a bog standard poncho for a fifth of the price does a better job.
I’ve never managed to get a waterproof jkt that is waterproof just misleading from every company. The only bit of gear I would call waterproof is an ortlieb pannier. If they made a giant ortlieb pannier I would rather wear that over my head.
They all suck. Ive had so many over the last 30 years and they all suck. In the last 10 years only a handful of OEMs make the fabric and sell it on exclusives to brands with whatever fraction of a difference between them. Basically its plastic weave with a rubber backing thats been aerated during manufacturing to make its have tiny "pores" or truthfully, popped bubbles. The only thing thats actually waterproof is plastic. You commoner garden plastic 'Mac' or low weight VCP (vinyl coated polyster). Im sure theres a market for a light weight cotton jacket that has been panelled with waterproof material.
wearing a stylish patagonia rain jacket in warm weather is rather pointless...get wet and live a little. Jackets like this are only going to get you to a nice tree to stand under before your soaked....if you really want a real rain jacket look at what manual laborers wear working on a boat.
Why would I buy a rain jacket that is waterproof? So this thing is useless. There are raincoats on the market that are packable waterproof interracial downpours. Some of the new ones and breathable to end packable. So I wouldn't buy this coat thanks for letting us know you should just tell people do not buy this jacket. It'd be really dangerous to get wet and cold and some situations especially if you do somewhere remote so this is a dangerous coat to rely on to keep dry. Say it like it is.
cookiemonster it’s definitely not a “dangerous” coat to rely on. Everything I’ve ever owned that is Patagonia is quality and although not perfect, is very nice. Learn how to form a legible response so people will take you seriously

Most cyclists prefer to get wet in rain unless in smart clothes while commuting to work. Nicer to get wet from rain than boil in the bag.
Have you tried Helly Hanson foul weather gear? Great for storms at sea. I’d like to know how they work for hiking.
Patagonia has one of the best warranties!
I have the same jacket. So many problems with transpiration (moderate hiking seems to be inside a plastic bag) and bad zipper. Luckily my Berghaus paclite don’t...
Yeah it's a very sweaty jacket for sure. Good on short walks and light rain!👍
Thanks for watching by the way, great question.
Thanks for the answer! I'll be stepping up in my hiking this summer with the fjäll classic in northern Sweden (approx 5 days). So this is all great advice! @@thetrailhunter4469
Amazing! Good luck with your trip and sure, any time. 👍
Will this be good for a carribean rainforest? The new 3 layer one
Just been reading the reviews on the Patagonia website they aren’t very positive because of the “updated design” do you still recommend?
Ahh if the reviews aren’t good the choice is yours my good sir. It is a good jacket, I wore it up Tryfan in the freezing rain and it did keep me quite dry and I dried out in the sun pretty quickly, but not sure if I have the one before the design update. 👍
The Trail Hunter thanks a lot for replying
Any time. Any more questions, gimme a shout. 👍
Top tip: in really torrential downpours (when cycling) wear 2 breathable waterproof jackets, a figure hugging proprietry jacket (I have a Rapha Pro team race cape) and this Torrentshell. It works for me. In warmer climates just don't worry too much about getting wet))
oh and mines a 3L not 2.5 so much improved going by this
nice video , i am thinking about purchasing this jacket , what are your thoughts on its performance against cold weathers
It would probably feel very awkward to wear. It's a lot louder and stiffer. Anybody who would try it would probably not buy it.
It would not be breathable. You can buy such jackets.
They have the same zipper issue on the Triolet too!
How about this technique compare with Goretex that some Patagonia got in terms of waterproof level?
Hey!
What size are you wearing please ?
Hi. I don't own a Patagonia rain coat, but I just bought TNF venture 2. It didn't keep me dry under heavy rain. I still like it, tho. Just a lil disappointed with it not being waterproof.
thanks for the great review! How tall are you and what size are you in that jacket?
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. I’m 5’7” and I got it in a medium.
Would this work over a nano puff? Looking for a good mid layer and shell for hiking in 10F and or snowy/maybe rain conditions.
It works. But for hiking in 10F I would pick a down sweater instead of nano puff.
@@orbispictus6127 thank you! Was just concerned about a down sweater getting wet. Other hikers in my region swear by the nano puff, which I don’t own yet and not sure I will. Don’t want to buy just cause of the well known brand. Thanks again!
Would you say this would be enough in terms of water protection in Scotland highlands in summer?
Yeah should be alright. Unless it’s bucketing it down. I can recommend Frogg Toggs. Much cheaper. 👍
@@thetrailhunter4469 thx for the answer. did. you ever hike in Scotland for longer periods of time..say two weeks or so...
Is the hood helmet compatible?
I have a "waterproof" jacket from Under Armour which I purchased on sale in 2016. It's pretty similar to this.
Thanks for the awesome review! I’m sorry if I missed it. But if you don’t mind me asking, how tall are you and what size jacket are you wearing?
Thanks Joseph. Glad you enjoyed the video. I’m 5ft 7inches and that’s a medium. Any more questions, give me a shout. Happy hikin’!
Your cons are on-point!
Can this jacket be cleaned with nikwax like gore Tex?
Hi! Sorry for my english
I just tried the rainshadow jacket, on the page it says it has 2.5 waterproof and for 45 minutes to 1 hour I walked in the rain and was wet, especially on the shoulders. I paid around 140 dollars for nothing ... Really disappointed, I have pictures of how it got wet inside
Ahh that is not good. Does it have a rating which is something like 10,000mm?
I’m waiting for my new Frogg Toggs to arrive, £16 on Amazon and are apparently really good. But need replacing after a short while.
@@thetrailhunter4469 I think it has more than 10,000 mm ... On Thursday I will go to the store to get an explanation. The next thing I'll buy is a gore tex jacket, it's the best of the best, it's more expensive but it's worth it
@@thetrailhunter4469 When you try the frogg toggs please do a review and I hope it is with a lot of rain hahaha. In the south of my country is a lot of rain, luckily I tried the rainshadow shit before going
Ignacio Fuentes González I definitely will and no shortage of rain here! Good luck and stay dry!
Definitely possible if you can afford the best in the market. And I'm referring to Gore-tex Pro, breathable and waterproof !
Patagonia’s own technique is good or Goretex is still more waterproof?
Goretex, and Goretex Pro is the best but most expensive.
It always amazes me when I hear somebody blame a rain jacket for the fact that he had it on while hiking and he sweated, as though a rain jacket is supposed to be some magical antiperspirant that totally prevents sweating.
Okay Prof...
I've purchased the Rab Kinetic Alpine last month. Great wee jacket so far, I was missing the pit zips at first til I realised how breathable it is.
I bought this jacket and it let me down first downpour even tho i washed it in nickwax save your money itll let you down on a plus tho its a great fit and comfy but its not waterproof
this is not a waterproof jacket. bought one , tried one.
Should I get a light coloured jacket or a dark coloured jacket?
Thanks for watching. I’d always say get a brightly coloured jacket for visibility but of course it’s entirely up to you. I quite liked the grey in this one.
@@thetrailhunter4469 Alrighty, thank you for responding!
I’m 5,9 250lbs, but Im not really fat, what size do you think I should get for me
Sorry, I’m not sure I can answer that. Patagonia will give you a much more accurate answer 👍
King Kévo what size did u end up getting
Such as dryvent, hyvent or omnitech etc... anyway still pretty cool
Have you experienced any membrane delamination with this jacket?
None at all as of yet. 👍
Apologize, where's my head 8/11/20* 8/22/20*
How tall are you and what size are you wearing?
I’m 5’7 and it’s a good old medium. 👍
Pro tip for stuck zippers: Take the bottom of a candle and run it over the zippers a few times.
What rating was it? I just got a great lightweight 10.000mm. U never mentioned the rating that was all bud
Sorry for the late reply mate. It’s 10,000mm to 20,000mm so not completely waterproof under high pressure. Anything above 20,000 is.
@@thetrailhunter4469 well from your videos mate you only give the best review and info from your situations . So I wasnt unhappy at all with the video, you gave your opinions on the jacket it just doesnt mean others will agree but I think you even say that in many of your videos. You can only go by how you used it and the conditions. So..where's your next adventure then? Any plans
Ahh thanks man, means a lot. It does give me some insight into my viewer’s preferences though and I’ll be sure to back up my claims with more research and evidence, thus making my videos more useful and trustworthy in the future. Ahh mate, just started a new job so gonna be doing some weekenders, but would love to do the West Highland Way as the big one. Saving money for next year’s PCT and beyond now. What about yourself?
How weird I bought that exact jacket in 2015 for SE Asia..
Would you recommend this as a shell for a down hoodie?
if it's not waterproof there's no point buying it
I have problems with the zip on mine too so it's not you.
Why?
love how you complained about the zip..
Chutiman Pn I mean he has the freedom to do that why are you like this
Picked this up for $45 new!!!
Amazing. Where from?
what size you have? how tall are you? thank you
Pretty good but I’m going to call out the built-in hood cap as a fashion faux pas... it has a look about it that says “who’s that t#%t in the hood cap?” and also states “screw the hike, I’m going fishing guys”.
Okay David...
You have to maintain a waterproof jacket and maybe wax the fabric especially if you machine washed it … it can be waterproof again you just need to treat the fabric
Potato skin is waterproof. Why has no one made an organic jacket out of this natural material ?
Good idea. People don't listen.
I regret it really bad and annoying zipper, it's a same cause I love patagonia!
i just purchased this jacket....was substantially cheaper than the one with gore-tex (189.00CAD vs. 499.00CAD)....maybe i will bite bullet and exchange.....
The zipper is attached on the wrong size.
The only waterproof rain jacket, that was 100% waterproof is “outdry” Columbia shell
Hahaha. “Stay tuned for my top tip on waterproof clothing”. The top tip “manage your expectations”
Not sure if its me just sweating but has anybody else noticed the jacket smells a bit funny
So it's not water proof or breathable...the main selling point :D
No chest pocket!
Invest in a gore tex jacket, 100% waterproof and will not get clammy inside!
Raincoats are 100% waterproof, but not lightweight or packable
looks very narrow in the shoulders
Its not waterproof, not breathable...and a zipper stucks..."But its a FANTASTIC jacket.." what a BS that is.
Rub some wax on that zip
POS rain jackets dont keep ya dry. just like Marmot SUX.
100 plus quid and not waterproof - we are being conned
wearing a stylish patagonia rain jacket in warm weather is rather pointless...get wet and live a little. Jackets like this are only going to get you to a nice tree to stand under before your soaked....if you really want a real rain jacket look at what manual laborers wear working on a boat.
Cant beat gore-tex
But this is the old 2.5L version, not the new 3L version. So this review is now completely irrelevant.
…and you’re cute.
I've never been in an interracial downpour. must be something!
@@JoelSimbrowI’ve been in interspecies downpours, when it rained cats and dogs, but never interracial.
