    Great experiment Andrew! Having that inexpensive alternative for larger projects or lots of practice, is a super great choice. Thanks for sharing!

    can you do a vidoe where you mix that type of clay to make a toywax type clay or firmer clay like monster clay. Ive heard you can mix in waxes like bees wax to make it firmer.

    Love all your videos, thanks for posting your content here. Would not have thought about melting the clay together as one solid colour. Thanks for the idea. Wondering how you clean out the pot you used?
    Happy to see the clay is available in New Zealand 😃👍🏻 Cheers

      A rubber spatula and some paper towels is what I like to use to clean the pot. Usually I’ll clean it while it’s still hot or reheat it slightly if needed.

    Great video and very useful information. Thank you very much! Have you tried Van Aken clay yet? It has been my favorite for years.

      I have not that might be one of the next ones I’ll have to add to the list to try.

    Could you do this for wax. Im having trouble finding a replacement for amaco's carving wax, as they dont sell it anymore.

      I'll have to look into that! I haven't done a lot with hard waxes so maybe this could be a chance too. How similar is it to beeswax?

    I wish I had that cheap access. When I search for Nara clay it's a whole lot more than a dollar pr pound 😂

      Yeah this might just be a deal in the US or certain states. Where are you from?

      @@AndrewJosephKeith - Denmark. The cheapest I've found is 5,72 pr. 2.2lbs, different brand though.

      @@AndrewJosephKeith - I was wondering if Plastilin has the same properties as Plasticine, is that something you're familiar with? It popped up when searching for Plasticine on a German website.

      @@AndrewJosephKeith - The cheapest clay I found consists of calcium, paraffin wax and mineral oils. Do you think I can use it like you do with plasticine?

    I have to work outside in a tent. Is this clay ok for that?

    • @AndrewJosephKeith
      @AndrewJosephKeith  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah it should work fine. It can melt of it gets to hot (like in a hot car in the sun) but if it’s not too hot where your working it should work. A firmer clay might be better for a hot work space.
