Thank you SO MUCH As a lang time and past member of some of the smaller groups it was SO GREAT to see the updates on these. Because of age, work and other issues, my current position leaves me a long ways away from these organizations and seeing them and hearing about them is just a highlight for me. Great video Will. I’ll be riding the Kuranda Scenic railway this weekend which will be my first time riding a heritage train in a different state. As well as that I’ll be catching the Tait train to the AMRA Vic exhibition. Should be an excellent weekend. - Nicholas.
Great video will very helpful. The deb set transfer was from rothbury to the lachlan valley railways base at orange for storage and restoration i presume. The reason it left rothbury was all the stuff has to leave rothbury by the ebd of july due to expired lease if interested you will find more information on google. 3237 is staying in orange at lachlan valley railways base. The trips are just a special relaunch service before regular service in the Central west. Im hoping the sar cooaches are going to the picnic train would be good variety to the standard nswgr coaches. I have a feeling these coaches will either be a separate train for the picnic train or join the zephr cars and make one big train. Hopefully this means that the picnic train can do trips in the hunter with the r whilst the 59 is in sydney because then they will have two separate train consists allowing them to run two trains at the same time. Crews allowing of course. But that is just my dream for the picnic train with the two steam locomotives 🙂 only time will tell though
Surprised you didn’t mention Steamranger’s major level crossing accident during the month which severed their South Coast operations, was quite a noteworthy event that many would’ve heard about, so why not put it in the video?
I did think about it, however I decided rather than mention it, and possibly bring up any upsetting feelings toward the incident to those involved or have been involved in similar incidents, I’d focus on the operations that are still happening and a push for people to sign up to the organisation/donations/ticket sales. I didn’t feel it was a good idea to mention it. I’d be happy to discuss this further in an email if you’d like to.
excellent, it is surprising how many such organisations exist. In the future you could do a special state based one which just covers the basics of any organisation. but I think you will need a helper soon.
Good day will james ca you please add another railway to your list it's called red cliffs historical steam railway that operates on the 1st Sunday of every month except December January and February .also during this time of the year runs from 11am to 300pm and other times at 1000am to 200pm with an half hour break .
Thanks for the news. A few bits I was in particular wondering about. Arising from the 1901 Royal Carriage Melville discussed at 4:25 , I was expecting it to be shown in this very early Port Melbourne 1901 Royal Train clip : ruclips.net/video/jPmB1GayMjE/видео.html However the carriages seem to have different roof arrangements than the preserved clerestory version. I would expect the 1901 era six wheel bogies would have been replaced with the latest suitable four wheel types. A mystery unless there was rebuilding at some stage. The clip is also notable to me as showing how strong the VR E class 2-4-2T engines were in coping with this long and heavy train.
