not if having mid turbinate swab like this video is showing. yeah there are 3 swabs the nasty nasopharyngeal, this one which on hearing about is probably moderate discomfort, and anterior nares swab. i went with anterior one twice had choice. turbinates are not far up nose i think this goes more upward not back the nasopharyngeal one goes straight back to go up not be right and cause injury. look up videos that show nasal turbinates.

Hi, is there any different between taking sample in lower nasal tubinate and nasopharynx area? In India they take the sample from nasopharynx, much deeper inside
Why does anyone need to do a mid-turbinate swab test for ART? The manufacturers of the test reccomend 1.5 cm NOT inches! I had one dawn test done at the airport arriving in Cambodia. Shallow and painless. But the two pre-flight tests at a clinic? They both HURT because they were deep.

Very helpful video. Even if u r doing a rat test at home, u can follow these instructions for taking the nasal swab the correct way. I was probably taking the swab the wrong way and so my test was negative at first. When I used the way they have shown my test was positive. Also, if u follow the instructions, doesn’t hurt at all
Hmm this is what I thought we were to do- but prior to a procedure the Dr mandated a covid test. I did mine myself tele appt. the nurse said she “didn’t want to see me do the test, she’d just talk me through. She said only swirl three times right where I can no longer see the cotton. The hold against side of nose 10 seconds- repeat other side. I said this doesn’t seem far enough?? She said,” oh that’s because this is what they used to THINK we had to do, now it doesn’t go in that far.”
There are two types of nasal swab tests, I've had both. The PCR, the one that gives results in 15 minutes only involves swirling the swab shallowly inside the nostrils. It doesn't feel bad at all. The one shown in this video is the nasopharyngeal swab test. Don't try this at home!! This gives more accurate results but it feels even weirder and deeper than you would expect. So, this is probably not the test you did yourself.

I’m in my car right now and I just had my very first ever test done and I was nervous and scared but honestly it wasn’t bad at all. ☺️ I was reading articles in the waiting room of people’s stories online of nasal tests gone really bad and that DID NOTT help my nerves. 🕺 Anyways some people that helped me calm down described it as the same as swimming down and getting water in my nose and that’s just it, the stinginess and they were right!!! Even better it hurt even less than when you swim with pressure. 😁 It really did not feel as far up my nose as people make it out to be in my opinion. It was the same as if I had taken a soft qtip and put it into my nose a little further than normal and stopped instantly. 🤪 Anyways it wasn’t bad at all. Sit straight. Don’t move because you’ll hurt yourselves more and I was told to tilt my head back a little. It was like so much pressure off of me once I was done. I've seen the ones that go all the way to the back
That’s what I’m worried about .... never had anything to go that far back since I was 12 and was in the hospital for a month. Had tubes down my nose but I didn’t even know they even put it in my nose. I was sleep
@@Parrtyyxo yeah I'm not a fan of anything going into my body

Pretty sure this is wrong, in some other lessons the swab goes deeper than shown here.
Well now that medical professionals know that they can get almost the same level of accuracy without shoving a q tip down to your freaking skull they have an actual nasal option that’s way less invasive and doesn’t hurt.
not if having mid turbinate swab like this video is showing. yeah there are 3 swabs the nasty nasopharyngeal, this one which on hearing about is probably moderate discomfort, and anterior nares swab. i went with anterior one twice had choice. turbinates are not far up nose i think this goes more upward not back the nasopharyngeal one goes straight back to go up not be right and cause injury. look up videos that show nasal turbinates.
@@kiikii3254 they have two less invasive this one is more moderate level.
Come on... we all can see her squirming faces :-D
Bruh I've seen people go balls deep with the swab.
This is why I won't take a test! My son had to have a test for a job he was doing but all he did was send off a spit sample.
It's really not that bad
Don't take the test.

Had it done it feels good idk i told em to do the other nostril
Hi, is there any different between taking sample in lower nasal tubinate and nasopharynx area? In India they take the sample from nasopharynx, much deeper inside
Yeah, in other states they took from nasal and when I did in NY they did nasopharynx which is really painful
@@syedashobnam2573 nasopharynx is more accurate so 🤞
Why does anyone need to do a mid-turbinate swab test for ART? The manufacturers of the test reccomend 1.5 cm NOT inches! I had one dawn test done at the airport arriving in Cambodia. Shallow and painless. But the two pre-flight tests at a clinic? They both HURT because they were deep.
Are the nasal swabs sanitized with Ethylene Oxide? If so, why use a swab that may contain resudue of that carcinogenic chemical?
It does indeed have ethanol oxide. You know what your talking about i was looking for someone here that has a clue. Majority of the people here are screwed. Feel bad for the ones who take this test frequently for their paycheck.

a cotton swab up your nose is the worst thing you’ve ever felt..?
@@Indecisivetacos it wasn't a normal cotton swab and they didn't just put it in my nose. They used it to scrape the upper most corner in my nose, close to my tear ducts.
Its a mess I'm not going to get tested again if I can help it I feel your pain and many other do to
This one is less uncomfortable than the other method. That one hurts
I got mine done today and if was only in one nostril here in dominican Republic took less than 20 seconds, it didn't hurt is more like a tickle, like a feather inside ur nose, I really wanted to sneeze after but I couldn't hahah
Not popular opinion, but it kind of feels good. Lol
No it dont
honestly doesn't look as bad as i thought im fucking terrified though
Some does it soo harder.
Very helpful video. Even if u r doing a rat test at home, u can follow these instructions for taking the nasal swab the correct way. I was probably taking the swab the wrong way and so my test was negative at first.
When I used the way they have shown my test was positive. Also, if u follow the instructions, doesn’t hurt at all
A new way to mess up the human body.
@@naturalnashuan actually this is mid turbinate swab. i had anterior nare which just half inch in nostril. turbinates i am told hurt when touched esp if they are swollen mine are alot of time. would not be able handle this or nasopharyngeal. lucked out with anterior nare and had twice i need a third before my second gi endoscopy whenever that be
I do take covid test, I use one side of the nose and I dont twist the swap. I do get accurate results. This way is way painful n uncomfortable.
How do you know it's accurate?
for everyone else also wondering if it hurt, do not worry at all. I’m in my car right now and I just had my very first ever test done and I was nervous and scared but honestly it wasn’t bad at all. ☺️
I was reading articles in the waiting room of people’s stories online of nasal tests gone really bad and that DID NOTT help my nerves. 🕺
Anyways some people that helped me calm down described it as the same as swimming down and getting water in my nose and that’s just it, the stinginess and they were right!!! Even better it hurt even less than when you swim with pressure. 😁
It really did not feel as far up my nose as people make it out to be in my opinion. It was the same as if I had taken a soft qtip and put it into my nose a little further than normal and stopped instantly. 🤪
Anyways it wasn’t bad at all. Sit straight. Don’t move because you’ll hurt yourselves more and I was told to tilt my head back a little. It was like so much pressure off of me once I was done. My eyes were a little teary from the sting but I was fine. Just that. Just the sting. 🍚😡
You are going to be okay reader and just don’t induce your fears or nervousness. Try and relax and breathe. If it helps close your eyes you can do it🧸💌🕯💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Its fricking painfull boi
this is extreme smh
I HAD IT EARLIERRR AND IT FUCKING HURTS 😭😭😭
I'm still confused and scared.. Some says you have to put the stick only 2,5 cm and some put the stick unitl this breaking point (0:50).. So my question is, it is painful to someone has chronic sinusitis and allergy? My mucosa during the allergy season is already in pain..
Yup, rammed it all the way in till it stopped. not fun. You can feel the blood going down the back of your throat. Good times.
They shoved it all the way up my nose and my nose is still runny for the past 3 days

So when the tester rams it all the way till it stops, they are doing it incorrectly. Gotcha. That throat punch was earned.

I got one…it wasn’t a swab. It was a long swab like thing with a scratchy brush like thing on the end. It hurt because the technician twirled it really fast for longer than I expected. My nostril was sore afterwards. I did it to test for Covid because my kids got really sick and I was around them. One of my kids also got it and said it was torture. I won’t be going back again ever for a test. I’m so sorry I did. Neither of us had it and it was a waste of time being traumatized.

Ill do it tomorow... i hope everything is ok
I hope someone sees this I had this test done over 3 months ago head covid and I have not stopped having severe bloody sinuses and severe stabbing face and eye pain. 100% feels like my nose has been injured.
Anyone else have this happen please let me know I don't know what to do I'm going to talk to my doctor and see if I can go to an ear nose and throat doctor or have a CAT scan because this is not normal to have this kind of pain and sinus issues for over 3 months straight
Except for Saliva test work better and aren't uncomfortable. And they also don't pull the nasal folds inside forward when taking the swab out which doesn't damage some peoples nose. Mine is one of them. This is medical malpractice to be honest. The nose is not designed to had anything stuck into it. Especially that far. Ever since your stupid test my right nostril won't stop closing. And there's nothing I can do about it now. The damage is done.
This just tickles the inside of my nose and makes me sneeze or cough. It feels so fucking weird. Your nose never feels the same after.
I must the the only one here to think that this test feels good?
I mean not surprising as my nose constantly itches similar to experiencing hayfever which I constantly get sneezes all the time due to my nose being soo sensitive so when I get this test, it feels like I can scratch an inner itch within my nose.
im getting it today or tmr im terrefied wish me luck lol
