Was excited to see Zac continuing his career into the NFL, but disappointed when the glitch doomed everything. I completely support your decision to just say done though. No one wants to redo all that work from scratch again, not so soon after doing it all the first time. Looking forward to whatever comes next though!

My buddy and I both graduated in 2013 and we got an apartment right after. We had a franchise on Madden 25 where he would play the 1st and 3rd quarter and I would play 2nd and 4th on All Madden. Man, what a good time. I remember Peyton retiring then came out of retirement to play for us.
Man me and my buddy graduated in 2013 and moved in right after as well. Many a night spent with the boys playing this and 2k13-14 (whichever cover was miami heat lebron)

Drewski you are so right at the end!! Having a finishing goal is what drives the videos you do, and there wasn’t much with this game for you to do!
That colts game is exactly why madden added the toe drag feature. The AI was so dumb on the sideline
I remember specifically in this game that you could juke backwards during kick returns and punt returns to make the entire defense crash in on you, so the sidelines were wide open and you could run it all the way downfield easy as heck. A bit cheesy though.
My GOSH, look at that time of possession differential!! Way to control the clock with the run game.
I remember that practice thing used to annoy the hell out of me. Its like when they started adding in those scenarios too, its like they couldn't force the AI to play a certain way - so you'd get a scenario that was like 'Return a Punt for a TD' and then the AI wouldn't even kick in your direction or would kick it out for a touchback 95% of the time or something. No idea if it's still like that in Madden, but wouldnt surprise me how much stuff seems to make it in from game to game

Dang. I was hyped when I saw this series moving to the NFL, but then... My feelings were crushed.
If Madden ever decides to make a somewhat decent game again, I would love to see a series where all the NFL team names are changed. Fast forward into the future until all familiar names are gone. And create a completely unique NFL.

So Zak Warren is Jeff Warren's son. His dad was already a college football legend at UGF by the time Zak was being recruited. And yet here we see Zak being drafted in 2013, while Jeff was drafted in 2020 by the London Black Knights

really interesting that read option was in madden back then. The gameplay was also interesting, in that it felt very much like classic 'run first' NFL. NCAA 14 is obviously the better game tho

Idk if it would be of interest but on the new maddens you could add Zack as a custom player in the draft and he would be authentically drafted, then start a player career and select him by using an active player. It might not be quite as wonky but you would still have to make an end goal for yourself which I know was part of the problem here.
Did you remember to change the min.speed threshold? Makes everybody's speed more level if you don't and I know your back is a speed back first and foremost.

Games this old DO have autosave features. NHL 11 autosaved. To its detriment, I think; by 13, they made it so that there were two autosaves and each was separate from your manual save, ie it didn't *overwrite* your save with autosave, it made a new file (and overwrote previous autosaves, rotating to give you a backup, even).
Madden just... nah man. I believe 06, the GOAT Madden, didn't have autosave BUT after each event it reminded you to save, so... that worked nearly as well.

Wish he would’ve adjusted his ratings to him being a rookie in the league. I figured he would’ve bumped them down a little bit like the game usually does. Adds more of a challenge
