I’ve owned the 696, 821, 1200 Monsters. I recently traded my 1200 in for my first Multistrada, the 1260S. I can honestly say that it was the right decision for me. The Monsters, at my ripe old age of 59, was a true monster for my body. I couldn’t handle the power and wind that comes with a naked like the Monster 1200. It had to go……. Now that I’ve been enjoying my new found love affair with the bike I tend to also start looking at the next installment a few years down the road. From what I’ve seen in the video my first impressions are that this will be my next, and probably last bike I purchase. It’ll be my fifth Ducati. I can honestly say that after owning a lot of motorcycles in my life, I’ll never buy another brand. Can’t wait for you to get your hands on this bike for the first time and the review.
I think it's interesting that you give credit to BMW for ride height lowering, but they introduced that as a reaction to what Harley was doing with the Pan Am.
I have a 2023 Pikes Peak and IMO, it is better than the GS in every category, especially the engine. Its super comfy in Urban mode and a beast in Sport mode! I had a GS and an RT previously and like my Pikes Peak better.
AND, What ABOUT THE AUTOMATIC LONG DISTANCE LIGHTS ????? This is a feature that ALL CARS in 21 Century HAS GOT and it Works PERFECTLY. When will be possible for a Multistrada ??????????????????????????????????????????????????

Here in Australia there’s the BMW GS guys with their $1400 adventure BMW jackets 😅.. the KTM adventure guys at the other end of the coffee shop stop overs , with their top of the range all white adventure boots 😅, then every now and then you see the multistrada and triumph clans , we mere peasants are snickered at from behind the latte glasses as we pull up on our Hondas and Versys budget bikes 😊 But strange how many used multistradas are lined up at Ducati dealers with minimum kms and not a scratch on them . Hondas and kawasakis may be cheaper , but we clock up the miles , without tow trucks on standby . Forget it I am just jealous and scowl at the posers from my mug of flat white, dreaming of a red and blue GS 900😂
there's not much info on this engine regarding reliability, sure it has 36k miles valve check but is there any actual v4 with that milleage in the first place?
Hahaha yep jealousy is a curse 😅. I have mates with thev4 and zero problems, one has 105,000kms with no issues and that v4 engine is the best I've ridden...out performs the gs and handles better, and looks are subjective but imo looks 100 times nicer than a gs
@@adamlee9071 There is no doubt that you will like Multi. Someone accepts the price or not. I don't have to and wouldn't pay that price for this motorcycle. Another thing is that the engine is really hot in the butt, but the owners don't talk about it. I have a new big Versys, and I feel very comfortable with it. I won't switch to Multi for many reasons. Have a wide road :-)
Had a test ride on 1300 and finally yesterday did a test ride on v4s. IMHO bmw is soooo much behind v4s... That engine is great, 0 vibrations, buttery smooth ride, tons of torque. BMW is good when you want "tank" kind of bike but v4s is just a beautiful beast so fun to ride. I did order updated version of v4s, she'll be ready in 3-4 months :)
I’ve the r1300GS option 719, priced right there with the V4S, it’s a hell of a bike and honestly wicked quick, would I need more? Not really. The GS lowers front and rear suspension, this does just the rear which I don’t think is as effective (for really short inseams like mine that’s important), plus still no shaft….but I love Ducs and one hopes it’ll sound appropriate. I have the Akrapovic exhaust on my 1300, looks great, sounds nothing special.
Ducati has truly hit peak tech and refinement with this bike. Downside, having to repair it. I like tech in my bikes but this and the 1300 GS are just to complicated and repair costs are going to be so high that eventually the bikes can become mechanically totaled.
1:00 I have a 21 V4s and a buddy with a 22 AT and the Honda has more bass than I do. Im faster no doubt but to your point the sound could be far better.
I would have said that I’d still go for my GS1250 that I bought in Aug 2023 BUT over a year later i’m still waiting for the second key and for over 6 months Ive been waiting for a replacement head unit as it doesn’t power the nav6/Sat nav cradle thing. I can see why BMW Motorad need a 3 year warranty! I would have traded in for the 1300GS by now but i’m having second thoughts if it’s so difficult even getting warranty parts for the well established 1250😢
Its a pity they removed the offroad riding mode from the Pikes Peak. I'm seriously looking at the 2025 PP, and as a comsumer I would expect the bike to have all riding models, being top of line, and I could just change rims / tyres if I wanted to do more off-road / trail riding, however they've just taken the option away from the consumer entirely.
Automatic ride height on the rear only is pointless because the nose of the seat hardly moves, so the reach to the ground changes very little. So both ends or don’t bother.
@@astrofeeder777 I had a 2023 Tiger GT Explorer and got rid of it after 2 months. I could not stand the vibration that was coming through the bars. It was a fantastic bike and actually does a lot of things better than my GSA. I just couldn't live with the vibration. I rode a 2024 GT Explorer last week and the vibration issue has been addressed and I would buy that bike as well. I would make sure the 900 doesn't have the vibration issue unless it just doesn't bother you.
Long time Triumph owner who's ridden all the old & new T plane motor Tigers, I find they still vibrate far too much for me, they feel nothing like the previous gloriously smooth 120 triples 😢 As a progressive road rider I adore my V4S Multi more as it's a far nicer, smoother, quicker, better handling bike period 😂 The minimal interim model changes to the V4S for 2025 don't make me want to rush out & upgrade. I do love the way Ducati roll out the software upgrades to existing bikes at service time that come with a 4 year warranty, 9k service intervals & 60000 km valve service intervals 👍

No it's not a terrible choice,the panigale has double sided cause that's literally what their track bikes have and it works...a pikes peak isn't a track bike,the swing arm makes the pikes peak look better and it's a ducati thing

I own the first generation V4s Full, I adore it in every way. The chain rusts like mad if you don't permanently clean and lube it. Let's hope they put a better chain on the new bike. My only complaint, it's done 25000 miles though. 😊

If you need the bike to warn you of an impending front collision then you probably shouldn't be riding the bike. That's just expensive and unneeded fluff.

They all do this auto lowering shit wrong. It needs to default to low mode when the bike is off. It should come with the correct lowered kickstand accordingly. It's nice that they lower when slowing I guess, if you're not off road and it kills your ground clearance as you're trying to hop over a tree trunk. That aside, the hard part of tall bikes is getting them off the kickstand, particularly if you have a passenger on board or the ground you're parked on is angled to the right. THIS is when the bike MUST BE in the low mode. Aside from that, the bike looks pretty good aside from the footpeg placement. All wrong. Look at the angle of the rider's knees. No bueno. It would be wonderful if these mfgs would hire a few motorcyclists who could help them get this shit right. Ducati, please see the footpeg placement on the Moto Guzzi V85TT and fix this to match that and your customers who actually travel will kiss and hug you.

I think you’ll find the Multistrada is more reliable than the GS
I will stand for the Ducati Multistrada V4S, because I love the Design + the V4-Engine more, than the Boxer-Engine on the BMW R 1300 GS.

What kills this bike for me is the fuel range. I don't mind bad MPG, but at least give me a tank that will do 150 miles of retard mode touring.

The electronics isn't what fails on Ducatis, it is the engine and other mechanical bits ALWAYS!
In 20 years time it will be as easy to repair as a 20 year old laptop. Do we really need all this non-mechanical tech?

For me. The looks of Multistrada is not my taste at all. Overall look is ok, but the beak with giant nose hole is the thing that sore my eye the most.

They did that with the RS model which costs as much as a mid shelf sports car.
