That was an enjoyable 'ride along', with my early morning coffee, thankyou! Great weather you have there for this time of year,... good stuff for hauling this day. Thanks again!
Watching this one with my 5 year old daughter like we do most mornings around this time. We like the old iron. Enjoying your videos. Looks like your shop would be a fun place to work.
The people that could run that is getting thin I’m sure. Met some dozer operators that have never seen a machine with steering clutches and brakes. Lot today can’t use one without hydrostat or gps. Love those machines. My uncle has an old d7 with a straight shift tranny not powershift.
Awesome! I went from driving school buses 18 wheelers to my little Honda rancher! Lol and I don’t miss it with my rare neuromuscular disease .Content to be on the farm and watch these awesome videos
This video brought back a lot of memories for me..I was an instructor for these at Cp Grafton ND for the Army National Guard. Ran many hours on the D7 teaching students how to operate them. Those were my Army days I wish I had back!
C&C Equipment +: This video-type is *_LIKED_* , as is this particular video. It has been given the ubiquitous _YT_ 'thumbs-up' award, as requested and as is deserved. The excess weight is due to the _armor-plate_ belly pan, so equipped to withstand the Afghanny I.E.D.s often encountered when cutting in airfields for A-10 Warthogs in that neck of the combat woods. Check thickness of said plate. Gonna bet it's on the order of 50mm, give or take a few to either side of that figure. Of course, somebody gave that theater away not too long ago. Guess the D7F missed that debacle due to shipping chain failures and _slow boats_ stacked up on the West coast... 🤔🤔🤔
Good looking rig you have. That’s pretty cool that someone who watches you’re channel got to see you buy and pick up a piece of old military equipment that he use to run and operate. It’s amazing how things like that happens
I was concerned when I heard about the problems Dirt Perfect had with his purchase. When I started following you, I realized the your teenage workers probably did not help your quality quality control. I was glad to see you helped out DP, not because of his YT channel, but because of you standards. Keep up the great work.
For sure I actually had problems with a Middle Aged guy. Normally they young kids you see are mine and I trust them way more than allot of people I can hire because they have been taught skills and values
Thanks for taking us along on your trip . That is a good looking old "Cat" dozer. We had 2 - D8K's here on the farm years ago when they were stripping coal back in 1978 . They were really good dozers . They were my first experience with being on or doing anything with ( Cat ) dozers . Be careful and stay safe and fix the old dozer up. As always, Jeffrey !!!
That tractor is awesome. A time capsule of sorts. I do NOT need a dozer. But I sure WANT that one. Thanks for taking me along on the ride. If I was a bit younger, I would definitely enjoy doing what you do.
Brought back memories of the job I had in Viet Nam keeping track of all of the dozers, D7E Rome Plows, for the 1st Infantry Division plus all of the other equipment in the line companies. These figures were supplied to the commanding general every morning. I still have pictures of the Rome Plows clearing jungle which I would take from a helicopter. Pictures are fading as I am.
Very cool too see someone that worked with this dozer when they were in the military and maybe there’s some kind of military armor on the bottom for protection or maybe they have extra strong rippers shanks but nice one when you get done with your service it will be beautiful 👍😎🇺🇸NY
I'll tell you what blows my mind as you are driving along I'm thinking all these asphalt roads came along in the last 100 years . How can that be possible. We are living in the best of time...looking back and looking forward...forgetting the bad stuff!
I know you were fine, but I drawed up, just a little on the scale. I have trucker friends that have had nightmares at the scale. I bet Jerry called Dirt Perfect and said, now there's a dozer! Lol
The Pete did a Good job hauling that Big Beast home...They are a Good Dozer for sure..Its a shame it may go overseas but money talks bullshit walks..LOL..Undercarriage looks new. I guess with only 300 hours it should...You found a Sweet old machine.. i used to hate going through scales.but as long as you got everything in order which you did you have no worries..LOL.Most of the time You always get that one Guy that nitpicks everything.. LOL .Great job Clint. And Video..
Good run. Your channel is becoming my first look when I hit YoutTube. Seeing those good ole Indiana roads brings back the memories even 60 years later. I ran all over Southern Indiana in my youth.
Just beyond the claws in the back is another attachment that looks heavy duty. Maybe to tow someone... and is 1.5k pounds! Nice to rip behind you as you push or run backwards for another push. Nice machine.
Always seems like on the camera you’re driving faster than you are, lol. The extra front ripper’s must be the extra heavy part. Good driving all around. Would like to see it being gone over, maybe you’ll find some gold in that mud😎👍
Great video sir I enjoyed it very much. I am a retired trucker with the railway here in Canada 31 years service. Used to haul trailer trains with 20 foot containers, gross around 120,000. We had five Freight-liner cab overs with 13 speed and V12 Detroit's. The sound and power were just amazing.
Love that old iron whether it's got new paint or that character looking petena that's people are clear coating on older vehicles now days. Enjoyed the trucking an running through the scales!
It has been a very long time since I drove trucks, but back then we had to remove all the rocks from the truck and trailer to prevent liability to other traffic. I have noticed that at least in DP and C&C's videos it doesn't seem to be required. Maybe laws have changed or it was that I was in Oregon and state laws vary. Thanks for sharing Clint.
If the rocks/debris is from the road and you have mud flaps, you are not responsible. If the rocks/debris come off of the deck, equipment or tailgate, you are responsible.
The D7 s (E & F) we ran in Ohio N.G. weighed 56,000 with a winch and R.O.P.S. we hauled them with our 5 ton tractor and tandem axle trailer. We were exempt from weight regulations at the time. I miss those days.
Hi Sir , I am really enjoying your videos . I love Dozers , they are the coolest . I only have a JD450C. It's a lot of fun too but I can only imagine a monster like that .
I hauled a D7E around Viet Nam for one year, I actually ran over A land mine with the intermediate duals on tractor right behind the drivers seat while pulling into the pit where we pushed up clay and gravel to repair the roads.
Lol if I didn't live in southwest Michigan I'd definitely try to come work with yall working on military equipment bring back some memories lol even though I operated M1 Abrams 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My brother worked for the dept. of roads and was helping a contractor set up a weigh in motion scale and saw a load cross that was about 100,000 pounds. It was half of a mine haul truck box. All legal, had permits but a surprise. Driver asked if they had seen the other half.
DOT and CAT scales have really changed in the 15 years since I retired. Faster and easier now with permits and such. Sure was a pain back then getting out to pay etc. Surprised it was so easy getting an updated permit. Times have changed. Happy New Year to you and yours. Thanks for sharing.
sounds good , i guess being ex military it had a good service record, do not hear any bad knock or squeaks, it should look good all painted up and refurbished
Operated a CAT D7E in 73-74. Blade was so sloppy, you could put your fist in the bull pin without touching the sides. No adjustment at all. Machine was so old, I had to keep a CAT Umbrella onboard to protect myself from the oil rain put out by the pony motor. Tracks were so bad I had to be towed out of a sand borrow pit and pushed onto the trailer. The sprockets were rounded, rollers did not roll. Idlers were idle. Spent a week in the shop replacing the entire undercarriage. A lot of work and $ for a worn-out machine.
Send it down here we can push with betty!
About the same vintage I believe!
@@C_CEQUIPMENT hopefully less problems lol
Sounds like a great idea
Thanks for letting me ride along !
Thanks for watching
Really good to see some trucking USA
Scales ect
Live to see more
Love the sound of the fake plastic leather squeaking on the rear wall .. brings back memories
That was an enjoyable 'ride along', with my early morning coffee, thankyou!
Great weather you have there for this time of year,... good stuff for hauling this day.
Thanks again!
Thanks
Love the older machines almost loveable😂
We had a bunch of these when I was in the Seabees, can't kill them.
Enjoyed your trip for the Captain
Thanks
When I worked for CAT, we did frame-up re-builds in D-7's and 988 loaders. Loved those jobs. I did all the engines, 3306 and 3408's.
Damn.. nobody talks about the 8 cylinders anymore 🥲
@@tommybritton9273 Shit, I did 398's and 399's. Plus the 3500 and 3600 series engines.
Nice Dozer the D7F one of the first I encountered working for a caterpillar dealer back in the late 70's
I ran these in the army in the 80's and hauled them manuals said 52700# if I remember correctly for a ripper d7f and 49-50000# for ad7f winch dozer
Watching this one with my 5 year old daughter like we do most mornings around this time. We like the old iron. Enjoying your videos. Looks like your shop would be a fun place to work.
Thanks
Great video. and thanks for taking us along on your trip, the way you set the camera it made me feel like i was driving. keep up the nice videos.
Glad it was you on the scale and not me...
Great to see another oldie to resurect
Clean start on its own at 20 degrees. Didn't hear any moans or groans on it. Hard to wrap my head around 300 some hours since '72.
Another great deal and cannot wait to see more about this machine??
There is another video coming out this weekend on it
@@C_CEQUIPMENT you gonna tell DP that Jerry gets to do a test drive? LOL
Let Jerry on it and you'll never get it back.
The people that could run that is getting thin I’m sure. Met some dozer operators that have never seen a machine with steering clutches and brakes. Lot today can’t use one without hydrostat or gps. Love those machines. My uncle has an old d7 with a straight shift tranny not powershift.

Thanks for the trip, nice old tractor
You bet
Good to see some local boys out here doing good.

Thats an D7E, spent many hrs on them in 85 when I joined as an equipment operator. Sounds good
D7e had the 4cyl
This is an f model
🙏🙏🙏Amen!!! that every trip you make is a safe trip. Thank you for sharing your videos, I love them.
Good looking ole tractor for the year .
You are correct on them seeing it under your dot number Florida and Georgia will make you show it to them
I liked that video, you run a nice outfit ,sounds great Clint, yippee!! got it right. 👍👍
Thanks
Climbing the tractor onto the trailer in the middle of a bend is just great Art, good driving, well done!
Officer Hoover is going to stop you. And give you a few safety awards. LOL 😆 🤣 😂 😹
I need that in Mississippi. That squeaking in the cab of the truck would drive me insane.
Love these videos!! Very interesting and fun to watch! Can't wait to see you figure out where all the extra weight came from. Thanks Clint!
Enjoy your videos more than I thought I would. More actiion than many construction videos where its the same thing over and over.
Thanks
Good looking rig you have. That’s pretty cool that someone who watches you’re channel got to see you buy and pick up a piece of old military equipment that he use to run and operate. It’s amazing how things like that happens
Not been watching you for found you by accident but boy o boy well impressed keep them coming well done 👍
Thanks
that dozer is not even broke in yet...make a great dozer for a farm, or anything👍👍👍👍👍

Those d8k dozers were some of the best machines I ever ran... even after getting in the high track
That tractor is awesome. A time capsule of sorts. I do NOT need a dozer. But I sure WANT that one.

Your rig is a beauty, it doesn't even know it's hauling anything...gotta get rid of that squeak in the cab though...beautiful rig.
Thanks
Stay tuned for an even bigger load I just hauled
I'll tell you what blows my mind as you are driving along I'm thinking all these asphalt roads came along in the last 100 years . How can that be possible. We are living in the best of time...looking back and looking forward...forgetting the bad stuff!
Great video.. I ran the D8 in the Seabees... Great machine. Thanks for the memories...
Thanks for watching
Yup, that is indeed a lot of Iron on that old lad :-) Nice!
You did a fine job picking up and transporting that dozer for such a young man! Best wishes.
Another fun video. Can't wait to see your cleanup and repair video on it. Thanks

Man i needed a road trip. Thanks for taking us along. Cant wait to see yall go thru it.
Thanks for sharing the full trip and how things work with the states.
I liked it all today.
I especially liked the driving part. I hear they are needing truckers badly right now.
Thanks for the ride along
Good run. Your channel is becoming my first look when I hit YoutTube. Seeing those good ole Indiana roads brings back the memories even 60 years later.
I ran all over Southern Indiana in my youth.
I like old iron, thanks for the ride along sir!
Nothing like old school equipment… no computer, sensors etc.
Just beyond the claws in the back is another attachment that looks heavy duty. Maybe to tow someone... and is 1.5k pounds! Nice to rip behind you as you push or run backwards for another push. Nice machine.
Good old Seymour scales is a hit or miss on being a$$hole 😆. They loved us cattle haulers back in the day

That was fun! I am wondering if this one gets all painted up? I like seeing older tractors all prettied up and all new hoses, belts etc.
Keep watching
We have another video coming on it
A good video of how your sposta do things even if it cost ya a little extra but saves ya if ya get busted. A nice sounding pete
Thanks

Yep it’s still the same
It was frozen when I picked this up so I couldn’t get everything
If the rocks/debris is from the road and you have mud flaps, you are not responsible.
If the rocks/debris come off of the deck, equipment or tailgate, you are responsible.
keep these videos coming enjoy the old school trucking seems todays drivers have to shift as fast as they can and hit every gear even empty
Today engines just aren’t the same as the old cats like mine
The D7 s (E & F) we ran in Ohio N.G. weighed 56,000 with a winch and R.O.P.S. we hauled them with our 5 ton tractor and tandem axle trailer. We were exempt from weight regulations at the time. I miss those days.
I’ve always been curious as to how the highway weight stations work, thanks.
Some of us called them chicken houses! Lol
Chicken coop.
Enjoyed your video. Hopefully we will see a follow video. Before you sell.
Kept me entertained, subscribed through dirt perfect like yaws videos.
I haul lots of equipment here at high country mining in southern WV. 👍🏻👍🏻
your a good dude u go out of way to help people like dp or dirt perfect
Hi Sir , I am really enjoying your videos . I love Dozers , they are the coolest . I only have a JD450C. It's a lot of fun too but I can only imagine a monster like that .
Thanks Clint, enjoying the videos would like one showing how you camo them out..
Great video Clint,I’m retired 30 years trucking.brings back memories.keep up the great job, look forward to seeing next video.happy new year.Gregg.
Thanks
You to
Never seen rippers on the back of the blade! Makes for extremely efficient ripping
I hauled a D7E around Viet Nam for one year, I actually ran over A land mine with the intermediate duals on tractor right behind the drivers seat while pulling into the pit where we pushed up clay and gravel to repair the roads.
Wow
Thanks Clint. I really enjoy your videos. I’ll definitely talk to you next time I’m looking for used equipment.
Nice looking piece of Iron, thanks for the videos
Awesome video. I love the old iron. Thanks for taking the time to make them.
Yep Clint I'd like to know where the extra weight coming from could be dirt like you said
Lol if I didn't live in southwest Michigan I'd definitely try to come work with yall working on military equipment bring back some memories lol even though I operated M1 Abrams 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yep, do a going over it video. Looks like a great way to get it done.
Definitely interested in a tear down refurbishment video.
One is coming
Great Machine. HAPPY NEW YEAR Make sure Chris- Lets Dig 18 sees this machine.
That is the same model dozer that I first got to drive, notice I didn’t say operate because I was young, dumb, and green as a pepper tree
My brother worked for the dept. of roads and was helping a contractor set up a weigh in motion scale and saw a load cross that was about 100,000 pounds. It was half of a mine haul truck box. All legal, had permits but a surprise. Driver asked if they had seen the other half.
😁
Awesome video Clint! Like to see more sir
Thanks for the ride, looking forward to a video on this machine.
good looking dozer lets see you checking it over and cleaning it up thanks Dana
Enjoyed the trip with you bro. Safe travels
Thanks 👍
I'd love to see you go get more equipment like this and as you fix them up to sell them. Thanks!!!
Awesome road trip with you thanks.
This is pretty wild I found you guys, I'm from Camby so not that far away. Cool to see a local construction RUclips guy.
Thanks
the rear ripper has a nice rear pin hook. maybe some extra weight as well.
DOT and CAT scales have really changed in the 15 years since I retired. Faster and easier now with permits and such.
Sure was a pain back then getting out to pay etc. Surprised it was so easy getting an updated permit. Times have changed.
Happy New Year to you and yours.

Thanks for watching
Keep those videos coming. I’d like to see that dozer from now to the sale to see how you service it and get it ready to go.
We have another video coming on it
sounds good , i guess being ex military it had a good service record, do not hear any bad knock or squeaks, it should look good all painted up and refurbished
I love my CAT scale APP its awesome, ten speed or thirteen I loved my 18 speed... very smooth shifting great job!!!!

Love them. Please continue.
Hope to see more videos on this tractor
We have more coming

That’s no fun to run one like that
