The Easiest Beef Pie Recipe You'll Find Anywhere

- I've always loved the pies. I remember going to the bakery Shop and getting a fresh beef pie three times a week. That and a good cinnamon roll was my lunch. Often, however, there are no bakery shops nearby. In light of that, I had to come up with a recipe to make my own. Indeed, this simple recipe produces one of easiest beef pies you'll find anywhere
As usual with Cook n' Share recipes, most of the ingredients you'll have right in your pantry. The only thing you'll have to buy is some stewing beef and a pre-made pie shell. As a tip, ground beef works fine as well.
Believe me, your family and friends will rant and rave about this super delicious pie.

That beef pie looks so good, Dave. Yum indeed and wow. What a neat idea to use the second pie crust for the top. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hi Patty. Yes, it was really good. The second pie crust on top really works quite well. You're so welcome and stay safe and well.
Love your receipies Dave! Ur an amazing and a very lovely chef 😘
Hi Natasha. Thanks so much. That means a lot. Hope you give the pie a try and enjoy it. If you do, let us know. As always, stay safe and well.
Hi Dave - Thanks for another tasty looking recipe! I bet it is just as good if not better than the you picked up at the bakery. Good idea for the pre made pastry. Have a great day
Hey Pauline. You are very welcome. Yeah, it was actually better than the stuff you pick up in the bakery. Although, I liked it too. Thanks so much and hope you give it a try. As always, stay safe and well.
My dear friend very delicious recipe thanks for sharing🌹🌹❤👌👌👌😍😍👍🏻
Hi. Thanks ever so much. Hope you give it a try and enjoy.
Looks amazing Dave! I need to try this pie and soon too!
Hey Chillin Charlie. I just love that handle. Yes, I think I'll enjoy the pie. Let us know if you give it a try. Stay safe and well.
I used to make Turkey pot pie after Thanksgiving every year. My father in law loved it.
Hey there. Yes, turkey pot pie is so good. I hope you give this one a try. As always, stay safe and well.
Dave my friend, great recipe with great ingredients & the sesame seeds are a nice accent, the tips I have on this, 1), make sure those pastry pie shells are completely thawed or they will break apart as soon as you try to roll the top flat, 2) I only fry the beef to about 1/2-to 2/3 done as it will finish in the oven & will be tender, 3) I add potatoes in 1/4- 1/2 inch dices but no larger or they won't be tender( remember I'm Irish, lol) 4) I would use that beef stock I told you about & brand " better than bouillion" or homemade if folks have in Lieu of beef broth as the stock has a much more richer, tastier flavor, these are just suggestions pal & feel free to use as you see fit, keep your stick on the ice pal
Hey Steve. Thanks so much my friend. As always some great tips here. For some silly reason I just find that the potatoes add too much body to the pie. I know a lot of people at the moment, but it might be just me. Love the idea of dicing them fine though. See you at the lodge my friend.
@@TheCooknShare Dave my friend you are welcome, the potatoes are/must be just an Irish thing, lol, we put potatoes in a lot of dishes that most folks would not, diced turnips would be a nice lighter version, see you at the lodge.
Hey Steve. Yum. Love the idea of turnips.
@@TheCooknShare Dave my friend, it will work but dice up small as per the potatoes for tenderness, is a little lighter than than the starch/heaviness in the potatoes, just another tip, root veggies are very popular here as they are easy to grow in our garden soil pal, glad you liked that alternative
May I ask what beef stock you use, I usually use the stock pots?
Wow it’s looks delicious and yummy 😋 thanks for sharing 🌷
Hi there. Yes it was Super Duper good. You're so welcome and hope you give it a try.
Oh i think it delicious and i will bake it for my family. Thank you Dave for the recipe and God bless.stay 💖💖
Hi there. I think your entire family will enjoy it. You're so welcome, and let us know if you try it. As always, stay safe and well.
Lo e it ,so simple great recipe Dave ❤️ have a wonderful Sunday
Hi Natalija. Thanks so much. Hope you are well over there. You have a super Sunday as well my friend.
OK, - THIS IS GREAT!
We don't eat pork and it is veeerry difficult to find meat pies that aren't either pork, or pork and beef, so THIS is absolutely THE answer for us!
The other plus, is that you said mincemeat could be used also, so DOUBLE bonus, as meat is pricey at the moment!
Thankyou a bunch!...
Hey there. Yes indeed, I think this will be the dish for you then. Believe me, it was super Duper good. Yeah, you could also use mince meat. That would be good as well. With the price of food on the rise, we all certainly need to be thrifty. You're so welcome and hope you enjoy.
Yum. Got to make this easy one
Hey there. Yes, I think you'll enjoy this one. Let us know.
Hi Dave, too good as usual !
Hi Paula. Thanks so much. Yes indeed it was a good one and I hope you try it.
👍👍 Thanks, Dave!
Hey there. You're so welcome. Have a fantastic day.
I love pies, Dave 😃 Sweet or savoury. I have some well used recipes for chicken & leek (or mushroom), beef & Guinness, minced beef, cheese and onion; and chicken curry pie is great too
I don't buy pastry as I prefer homemade and usually have some in the freezer
Brilliant video. Stay safe and best wishes to you and yours
Hey Graham. How are you doing? You got that right, sweet and savory. Yes, your ingredients sound like they would be perfect in the high. Thanks so much and stay safe and well my friend.
Hello Dave I’m moving into my new home in PE Eastern Cape on 18 June, so will watch once some boxes have been unpacked as I love making my own pastry. When kids were young I used to make Cornish pasties delish! So till then keep up with your delicious recipes ❤️ from South Africa 🇿🇦
Hey Wendy. Oh, see you made the move. I know, it's always stressful to move. Yes, I would make my own pastry too, but it's so time-consuming. But hope you get the pie or try and enjoy. Let us know and hope all is well in South Africa.
@@TheCooknShare Thank you Dave
Looks yummy!
Hi Wendy-Ann. Thanks so much. Hope you get to be fire try and enjoy.

I love pie. I have not make it for quite sometime. I should start making it tomorrow.😋
Hi Siew. Oh really? Hope you give this one a try then. Let us know tomorrow. Hope you are well my friend.
Easy tasty recipe. I would probably add a few more veggies though. Chopped peppers maybe along with a larger amount of what you put in. Looks delicious!
Hi Vickie. Yes, it was a really tasty recipe. Sure, you can add more veggies if you like. Hope you try it and enjoy. Let us know.

Look very delicious 😋🤤 I love beef pie
Hey Deidre. It was so good indeed. Yes, as I said, I love the pies too. Hope you try this one and enjoy.
Yes I will
Hey Dave, Such a simple yet tasty looking recipe and you can use pork, or chicken, or turkey too if you want to change it up, thanks again for sharing this, take care!
Hey William. It is tasty really and super simple. Yes, pork or chicken for sure. Hope you try it and stay safe my friend.
G’Day Dave. Nice pie mate. I’m on a diet but I still like watching you cook. Stay safe my friend. PS. Worcestershire is pronounced WOOSTER SHEER but the poms (where it was invented) just call it WOOSTER sauce.
G'Day Glen. Yes, keep on that diet. Love the idea of just calling the Worchester sauce. I mean Wooster sauce. Makes life a lot easier. Stay safe and well my friend.
Looks yummy 😋
Hi Angie. Thanks so much. Hope you try it and enjoy it.
@@TheCooknShare Will do, thank you.
Nice lookin pie Dave. You could probably mate a near enough pastie if you cut back on the gravy by abut 3/4. As a matter of fact i'm gonna make a few Cornish? pasties to-morrow. Thanks for the hint mate.
Hey Wally. Thanks so much my friend. You're so welcome about the hint. Hope you enjoy the Cornish. Stay safe and well my friend.
How long would you say the beef was being cooked altogether please from start to finish? Thank you xx Jean from Scotland.
Hey Jean. I would say about five minutes from start to finish. How are things in Scotland? I was there a number of years ago and just loved it. Didn't like the narrow roads in the rain so much though. Lol. Hope you try the pie and enjoy.
We are going to make this right now 😁😁 x
Hey Sharon. Fantastic! Hope you enjoy it. Let me know. How are things your way anyway?
@@TheCooknShare jep, it was delicious like all of your recipes! Yes things are ok, except for yesterday.. we had a flat wheel on the harley davidson en we were standing 3 hours in the rain.. very soaked, i was hungry and cold.. but everything is ok now haha..
I hope you are doing good Dave, take care xx
And there we were trying to decide what to have for dinner 😂 I think we have a winner 👍
Her Ger. No you know what to make. I think you'll really enjoy this one my friend. Hope everything is well your way. Let us know on the pie.
This was really delicious, and easy to make, we had a couple of small boiled potatoes left over so we sliced them thin and layered them on top before putting the top on 👍 we’ll be making this one again, thanks Dave
Hi, what pan set do you have in this video?
Hi David. It's a standard nine inch pie shell. Hope this helps.
Looks good Dave. I still don't get notifications by I just try searching on utube. I guess utube don't like me. 😂 By the way could I use chicken instead of beef and do the veggies need to be frozen? I'm thinking green beans, broccoli, chicken and maybe carrots.
Hey Becky. Other people are saying they're not getting notifications too. I don't think RUclips doesn't like you though. It must be some kind of glitch. Do you have the bell turned on and send all notifications? I'm sure you do, but just checking. Your version of the pie sounds really good. Hope you are safe and well my friend.
@@TheCooknShare I check to see if it's on and it does.
I have a LOT of ground beef n my freezer. Could I substitute it in this recipe?
Hi Bonnie. That would work absolutely perfectly. Let us know how the pie comes out. As always, stay safe and well my friend.
Oi! Can't get much better to us Aussies than a good meat pie. 😘
Hi Kathy. Yeah, I know you guys make a mean and wonderful meat pie. Stay safe and well my friend.
When I make meat pies (beef, chicken, etc.) I always use a bottom and top crust. I think it is lazy just to put on a top crust.👍😋👨🍳
Hey there. Yes, I agree so much. It just makes the pie. Stay safe and well my friend.
Any recipes for French meat pie ? Hi Dave and Coco !
Hi Carol. Now that's a really good idea. Let me think on that one for a while. Coco says hi back. Stay safe and well.
@@TheCooknShare You and Coco too !
Hey Dave it’s me again the chicken recipe was really nice but could you please consider about being grandpa please :( I’m 12 years old if that helps
it looks delicious but it doesn't appear to have any Gravy in the pie. Does the meat turn out tender?
Hi Roberta. It was super good. It was actually moist and the meat was tender. Hope you try it and enjoy.
@@TheCooknShareI will definitely try this recipe, it looks delicious 😊
Invite me to have dinner at your house 😄
Sure. Come on over. Got to beef pie on.
I need a baked chicken recipe
Hi Bobby. We have many, many, many of those for sure. Hope you try one and enjoy.
No green peas
Hi there. No, I thought I'd break tradition on this one. I usually do add them though.
@@TheCooknShare no I meant for me. No peas. Blah
