    You can use shoji paper and India ink. Some of the sumi inks are toxic so be careful if you plan on eating the fish.
    Traditionally color was added afterwards with watercolors. I've heard before that gyotaku was invented to settle bets between fishing samurai over who caught the biggest fish
    So cool to see this here. I'm of Japanese descent and I grew up fishing on the Cahaba River.

    Amazing! Can you use acrylic pain and do you need to cut it if you can.

      You can use Tempera. I don't think acrylic will work.
