Just purchased the product. This video was helpful in that I was able to set up everything in just a few minutes. I just wanna remind you guys that not only musicians use your products, but also podcasters, RUclipsrs, streamers and other content creators ;)
I use this with Windows 10 and in fl studio 20. It works great! I have no problems with my mic. What you can do to fix this problem with your guitar is. 1 record it stereo with a stereo effect, make sure the vst/ effect is in the same channel as you recording in. 2 record mono and copy it 2 times and pan one left / right. Its little bit more work but that's what you can do. Im no expert but i hope it helps.
That direct monitoring sounds nice but I have the same card and whenever i'm recording a microphone, I can only listen to myself (via direct monitor) through one ear. For example: If my mic is connected to the left input, i'm only able to direct monitor the sound through my left earbud. Is there any way to fix it?
I have the UMC202HD, and when I plug in my BOYA M1 Lavalier mic into input 1, it only records on the left channel. Does this unit not recognize the microphone being a 2 channel microphone that should record on both channels? Am I doing something wrong? My final production software is Adobe Auditions... please help!
No, its no a two channel mic, its a mono mic. May be you are recording a stereo track, you should instead record into a mono track or simply pan the stereo track to the center
It records mono audio, which means it only has 1 audio track. This one audio track is played back on 2 tracks in your situation. You gotta use an option like convert to mono to make both channels equal.
Inputs are mono... If the mic is stereo you must split the left right channel with a splitter and route them to channel 1 and 2... Or you can just route one of the channel to both out in your daw...
Buy a xlr cable splitter to feed it to both of the xlr ports. Or use a normal xlr cable and change the audio device settings by going into manage audio device of windows. Instead of 2 channels choose 1 channel, this would feed the same audio of yours to both of your ears.
I am a new of the UMC204HD and when I speak to input 1, the audio is heard in the left channel only, input 2 is heard in the right channel only. Is this by design? Can this be changed to mono settings?
When I plug my headphones into the headphone jack only the direct monitor comes through and I don’t get any sound from the computer. I’ve set the output to the interface but I don’t get any computer audio help
I don't know how it works with everybody else who use this Audio Interface. It's a good product but my problem with it is that, when I plugged the microphone or instrument in any of the two inputs, say in Input 1, the sound only comes from the left side , and if I connect in Input 2, the sound would only comes from the right side. But after recording, the playback sound would come to the centre.

Hello Phil G. Say uh I'm using my Windows 10 i7 Hp PC my Behringer UMC-202 and Acid Pro #9 . All my gear is new as of September 2019. I can't pick my Behringer 202 - as my Sony Acid Pro 9 makes me just use Asio4all. And if I pick my Behringer 202 my pc goes into silent mode... Anyway to fix this???
Hello there, Can I plug a mic and Digital piano together on this Interface using the direct monitoring switch, the idea it to use it has a mixer as well, because all I need is 2 inputs...will this USB powered device operate 2 connections without any issues secondly can I use a mobile charger to just power this device, just in case I do not want to record every time.
when iam mixing in cubase with this sound interface my sound is really low even with the volume knob on max. and volume at 50% on my m-audio speakers. why is that can you tell me what can i do in order to improve the volume of my sound? thanks
Hi. Im having trouble with the connecting and recording process. Ive plugged it in multiple ways and tried many different settings. Im using Adobe Audition. Everything works up to the point I try to put the feed through audition.
I have a question. If I use a headphone amp for the talent will the direct monitoring work for it also? I have the 404HD. Will I have to connect it to the main outs or can I use the A or B output? Sorry, I know that's more than one question. :)
Hi, Phil. Enjoying your tutorials. Just bought my first Behringer UMC202HD. I am doing mostly podcasts and zoom. I'm recording to Audacity for podcasts and directly with Zoo. My problem is that even though to me I hear my voice clearly when recording, on playback I can barely hear my voice through my headphones and the people I am talking with on the other end can just barely hear me. Why is the playback volume almost non-existent? I do have Phantom power on.
Can I feed stereo signal to my monitors from my PC using only the USB connection on the UMC202HD and thus eliminate my on-board soundcard? Can I also record at the same time?
when i push direct monitor the main volume is lowered. is this normal? test - playing a song with headphones.. push direct monitor button.. song becomes quieter.. turn direct monitor off.. song becomes louder again. is this normal?
i use 2 Boya M1 clip on mic, plug in both, left channel with boya input channel 1, only hear left in headphone, and right channel with boya input channel 2, only hear right in headphone, sound like mono or pan one side even pan already on the middle, any suggestion for fix it ? but if i only use one mic in one input channel, its hear stereo, i use garageband
im doing everything here exactly but my laptop keeps recording from the laptop microphone, all my audio connections are set up perfectly for this di box and i have my guitar plugged into it, what am i missing?
Just purchased Uphoria, spent an entire night setting it up to work with Amp software for guitars, yet i cant get it done, I hear the clean guitar sound on the background and guitar effects above that have no affection on the sound, please could you tell me how to set up software so that PC works as amps + pedals for my guitar, I've watched tons of videos and none of them are helpful!
Hi, I have a few questions. I'm a vocal music major and very new to recording: 1. Can this interface work with the old 2012 Macbook Pro? 2.Would i be able to records vocals to a prerecorded song? Ex: an old classical piano accompaniment. 3.what's a good software to use with this interface?
Hi Trevor, thanks for reaching out to us here on RUclips to ask us about this. To answer your questions: 1. This product will work with all MacBook Pro computers that are Core Audio Compliant, so it should work just fine with your older MacBook Pro. 2. Yes absolutely. 3. This interface will work with practically any kind of DAW recording software out there, deciding which one will be best for you depends on your workflow and preferences.
I don't find info on how to use ONLY musical instruments (no voice), I want to create my own music with my guitarrs, bass guitarr, keyboard, violin... any advise?
+Milos Grujic Tracktion 4 is free to download from Tracktion.com. The free upgrade we include after registering your product is for Tracktion 5 DAW software.
Hi, On this unit how can I direct monitor? if the music is prerecorded in track one of the DAW and I am (singing) recording in track two while track one is playing? In this the direct monitor gives the recording sound only? or there is a way to get playing track sound as well? Thanks
The direct monitoring of the UMC202HD will only be able to monitor the 2 input channels of this audio interface. You can always feed the signal from your computer's headphone output into one of the two input channels of your UMC202HD and then directly monitor that pre-recorded track and the signal you are trying to record at the same time.
Hi there i just purchased this interface a few days ago and im having an issue with my direct monitoring. issue being i can only hear out of the left earbud. Ive looked all around the hardware itself and i cant seem to find a switch or anything. Im using a macbook pro with garageband and im ready to pull my hair out. Is this how its SUPPOSED to be? any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi Mikey, Yes this is how it's supposed to be with the UMC202HD Audio Interface. When using the direct monitoring feature of this device, your input channel 1 signal will feed your headphones on the left side and input channel 2 signal will feed your headphones on the right side.
Behringer, The same thing happen to me even when not in Direct Monitor (button pushed out). I just got a brand new UMC 202HD is it how it is supposed to be also for the behind L and R outputs?
Dear Sirs...recently bought UM2 but when i hear the recorded voice on headphone it is heard as properly as recorded but when i listen it on computer the voice is heard as damp/or not as professional /less amplified why ? what i can do to listen it to hear it as professionally recorded ?
what you hear (if you pressed the direct monitoring) is not what you record. Untick Direct monitoring on the interface, allow listening through your computer and you will hear what you record.
hi ineed some advice, i already have the umc202hd. however i would like to add additional inputs. is it possible to connect another umc202hd to simultaneously record 4 tracks?
This will ultimately depend on your computer and the DAW you are using, as some can handle multiple interfaces while others do not. Please check with your DAW for more information about connecting multiple interfaces.
Hi! I'm very interesring in this a.i, and have a question. Is that program(logic pro x) following with the A.I? sorry I'm a new in recording , so I wonder!! Thank you
Hi! it is possible to give me an help, it is possible for example to record a vocal and guitar both conected at The same time? and i would like to know if The director monitor only is an option that only works for headphones, or if it work for both, monitors and headphones? thank you very much, i really apreciate.
You should tell that the direct monitor works only on the input channel you're using. so if it's imput 1 only working it will go 100% panned on Left, as well on input 2 to Right. I have UMC202 and because of that i consider that Direct Monitor is useless!
why won't you show how to multi track record? im thinking of purchasing the umc1820 and need to know if it's capable of recording multiple tracks at the same time.
This is just a beginners starting video that covers the basics, but we assure you that you are able to multitrack record with the UMC202HD as well as the UMC1820 Audio Interfaces. How many tracks are able to be recorded simultaneously will depend on the DAW you are using and the processing power of your Computer.

No worries, to answer your question direct monitoring of the UMC404HD is only possible with the Headphone output of our U-PHORIA Audio Interfaces.
So if I use the headphone output to the headphone amp then I would have direct monitoring for the headphone amp itself?
That is correct Stephen!
