Please feel free to laugh at this. People don't need to be so uptight about this. You're not laughing at their amputation. You're laughing at the humor they have with their prosthetic leg despite their amputation. As a fellow amputee, I would rather have people laughing with me about my stump or prosthetic leg and people feeling free to ask me about my amputation than people avoiding me because they don't know how to act around me. That's just awkward. I often joke about my stump. These amputees are not making fun OF their amputation, but WITH their amputation. That's a big difference. I love it. Respect! Because of their prosthetic leg, they're no longer disabled but able. We can do almost everything with our prosthetic leg. Yes, our mobility is limited, but only to a certain point, and that's different for every amputee. Look at the Special Olympics. Talking about pushing limits. Major respect! ❤🦿
For anyone wondering it appears that she has a vacuum fit leg and he has a pin lock, these are two different ways of holding the leg onto your body the pin is on the liner and the lock is in the socket so it kind of ratchets in as your limb pushes the pin down into the lock, a vacuum socket with a sleeve typically has a one way valve and as you take a step you pump air out until the leg is fully suctioned to your limb and some say that vacuum is better and some say pin lock is better. I worked on legs for 2 years and I can say I prefer pin lock because the manual nature of it and the physical lock preventing my leg from slipping off, I'm very hard on my limbs because I'm very active. Vacuums also require a bit more maintenance especially if you have a more modern electric vacuum system, that requires charging. This is purely preference and varies from amputee to amputee and even prosthetist to prosthetist. Some leg makers won't even use one or the other because they have their own preference over what they think is better.
That's funny, I like the suction fit, I tried the pin lock twice and hated it. I basically have my entire leg though, idk if that would make a difference. I even tried like a snowboard binding type of lock and hated that too.
I agree with another commenter that pinlock vs suction is quicker to don and doff, but that's not the whole point here. All competitions involve some inequality and they are most enjoyable when there is amusement/enjoyment involved. There is no real loser here, because both contestants were able to complete the goal and enjoy themselves.
Me alegra tu actitud frente a la vida. Ojalá muchísimas personas en tu condición lo vean como Daniela Álvarez Ex Miss Colombia o el paratleta costarricense Sherman Guity
I got my left leg amputated below my knee about a month now it's healing I was ashamed to go in public sometimes I cried but I got over it so now am waiting for my prosthetic leg so I can hit the road again and go back to work
It's a vacuum suspension system, basically the leg is held on by vacuum. The inner sleeve protects the stump, and the outer sleeve seals the whole system for the vacuum to hold. The other type of system is a pin lock system, both have pros and cons
@@MD-hf2qv personally I've only used a suction system, I'm an above the knee amputee, but I still have my full femur, so to save room for a computerized knee I have a suction system instead of the pin The suction system is very comfortable though and the vacuum gives better circulation to my stump so I'll likely never switch to a pin system
@@crispyclubbers Oh that's not so common. Here we call that condition knee-ex. Construction is full of compromises. But nice to hear that you like the vacuum part. Even that is not for everyone. :-)
@@MD-hf2qv technically I had a knee disarticulation amputation, but yeah I've got a great prosthetist with decades of experience, so I've never had a problem with it other than right after amputation when my stump was still maturing/shrinking
Ok... This might seem like a stupid question to an amputee but considering that I have all my limbs I've just always kinda wondered; why would a residual limb need a "nail" sticking out of the bottom of it to make it stick to the socket?!?!? How does that differ from yours? Just curious...
Only have had my first fitting For just over two weeks now but getting it on and off the moon and stars have to be aligned perfectly to do that. Certainly hope it gets easier with time and learning.
To be fair, pin lock suspension is *far* easier to don and doff than seal in suspension
I wondered why his looked different!
If I wasn’t laughing with you, I’d be afraid I was going to hell for laughing at this. 😂😂❤

You're a blast Jo. Such a heart warmer.
Wait, what, hold up. Does Stevie have a quick release on his leg? That's cheating! 🤣
Yeah and his bottom liner wasn’t taken off
@@andreabricknell9589 that might be for medical reasons, or for fairness since jo only has one leg cover on
Never skip leg day.
Love your attitude so positive you're a warrior 💪💪💪💪
That was pretty fast. 👍🤣
I love seeing your collabs and adventures with other amputees!
So you're righty and he's a lefty. You compliment each other very well.
I love the fact that you were able to share your unique feature with all of us ❤
I’m a lefty too! Meaning of course, I HAVE my right left, and the left is no longer a meat leg
I know I would lose for sure!!! I am not super fast at putting on my prosthetic!!!
That was great Jo thanks for sharing that with us it look like you were having a lot of fun keep up the great videos
I'm a btk and I raced against you two I came in third
My wife is like what the heck are you doing 😂😂😂
Love my pin lock system
He got like a pin on he's sleeve, is that a guiding line or something?
It's a pin lock so he just has to align it inside the prosthetic, rather than a vacuum system to keep it attached
My husband has this kind. It locks in. He has like 3 clicks when he stands up.
@@crispyclubbers it kind of just aligns itself when you step in, but ur not wrong.

u guys could share shoes on no leg days if u have the same size foot. What u 2 r doing on this channel is pretty cool!!!
Good vibes i like that hehehe God Bless you both and keep strong and be happy a😊❤
Her videos make my day :)
Lol. I'm a left below and I have a velcrostrap system with my prosthetic.
He has the pin action. The best 👍🏾

I needed that thanks🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He cheated! His leg clicks!! 🤣🤣
Im a amputee with a prosthetic leg, I can laugh at this and myself which I always have 😅
I love those two!!🥰🥰🥰💛
Best race ever 😂😂😂😂
This was definitely not apples to apples. Very funny, though. 😂
"left me to dust" 🤣🤣🤣
Sad that they'll never be able to enter the three-legged race together.
I would say Jo wins this one as he already had a head start.
Maybe the real winner was the friends we made along the way
Perfect!! I challenge you to an AK vs BK Amputee Leg Race Jo. 😂
I’m feeling very jealous 😡
Funny as hell!! Hehe 😂🤣
Mi bella, tienes que ser más rápida, un beso enorme en la frente y que Dios te bendiga, saludos desde Maracaibo Venezuela
I've noticed something Jo wears a sleeve over her leg where it suctions, but other amputees don't. Why is that?

They should get a room already ;) ❤️
gotta be quicker than that! 😁 lol love you -Joe- _Jo!*_
I'm a bilateral bk. Is that a sock on your friends limb? I haven't seen them used between the limb and the liner. Just curious.
My dad has that too. He also has a pin lock bka prosthesis
That is so much fun
am I crazy or is your prosthetic shorter then your other leg? sorry if this is rude just very curious and wonder if that is important.
if you Could get a bionic leg that functioned perfectly like a normal leg would you
Need a leg for my dad these look comfortable
And Steve won by a leg!
He didn’t take his innermost nubbin sock off
I love you sis and bro..
Best 2 out of 3, you got stuck!
The perfect race
He only won cause he was doing the "wrong leg" you were at least doing the "right leg" and as we all know it's WAY EASIER to do something wrong

one leg race instead of three legged race.
Rematch!
He didnt take off all layers tho!
Only bc of that extra cover his doesn't have that he just takes it off
How many prizes in this
Great race. But he didn't take off his sock and start with a bare nub.
How do you get around on snow and ice
I hope his leg is comfortable because looking at the gapping near his knee it looks like that socket is too big for him.
Same leg 🥺
jo gorgeous
LIES, YOU'VE A GOOD LEARNING TO CONTINUE WINNING IN JESUS CHRIST.
Semoga sehat selalu
Not really a fair comp considering the differing suspension mechanisms…
I actually thought that this was v a v real race!
I would have titled this video "who can take off and put there leg on faster "
Does he have military experience? He tore it down and put it together like it was an AR
These two are cute together
Oke
Will this be joe new love💕💕💕
Nice very good and awesome
🥰💝Cute!!💝❤
Well that didn’t go to plan 🤷♀️…….. ⚛️☮️ 🦿 🌏
😂😂😂😂❤❤wired
Kinda curious how she lost 1 leg
Stevie did'nt take the nubbin sock off his so he cheated
would you look at that he left you legless in a race
how did it feel when your leg fell off
no hate
You can’t race against yourself there was only one other person their.
😢😢
Speed
Is this a leg-off?
He has an intimidating weapon poking out the end of his. Any insight??
You have that extra outer sleeve, it’s not fair!
Proven again, Men are just better at everything 😂😂😆😆 um sorry FJ
You are absolutely lovely. I'm in love with you
Please price leg 🦵 please
Haha 😂
Gotta get a collab with @Alex1Leg
Now do it again but this time on psilocybin mushrooms.
I only watched the first five minutes of the law suit, you had a horrible time. I wasn't going through that plus the following bureaucracy.
Lol 😂

Hmm is he single? Hehe
Fast and get well pretty soon
What do you mean there's not much you can do about being an amputee.
@@Alex-ni8xk yea 😓
