Reminds me when I walked for the first time. It was awesome, I felt so happy. Getting a prosthetic leg was the best part of my life cause my leg had to be amputated above my knee when I was hardly a few months because of the body deformity that I was born with. This was the second surgery, after my heart surgery, and those 2 years in the hospital were horrible, but when I got my leg, it was freedom for me. Back then I could only walk, now I can do everything. All thanks to my prosthetic leg.
Your smile is adorable, I can't imagine the feeling of learning to walk with a new leg. It's amazing you did all of this in one day, from trying it on to walking like it's nothing, how cool.

Been doing contracting work on roofs since being laid off from the corona virus, knees been killing me going up and down. Got dropped down the rabbit pit looking at videos about joint pain and landed here. This women is a badass and everyone like her.
i am having my left leg taken off above the knee in January. my last chance to walk again . trying to watch all i can before hand . Knowledge makes me strong . your doing great . well done if i can just walk a short distance i will be overjoyed . thank you for the advice and the insperation.
I had my leg amputated 2 months ago. I'm all healed up now and the process of getting my leg started 2 days ago. I cant wait!!!! You made it look easy. Thanks for the video.
A below knee amputation is 30% easier to recover from than a TK or AK ,keeping your kneecap really assists in walking. I wish her every happiness in her future.
Karina - your positive attitude is so awesome. I hope you are enjoying life to the fullest. You are a beautiful example of how to navigate successfully through difficult challenges.
Well done Karina! You are a star and should be sooo proud of yourself! You are an inspiration to others! I am an above knee amputee and know this ain’t easy, yet you tackle it with such positivity!!
wow, can't believe this is your first prosthetic use, inspirational is an understatement. I'm also below knee amputee (4 years now) but with so many complications and set backs this week is like my first time back on my leg this year... well done and never give up.x
Karina, you are such an inspiration! I watched all your videos ( and subscribed 🙂) and your attitude since you were Young is incredible! All I saw was smiles and a positive attitude! I hope you go on to do good things with your life as there is no stopping you now! Look out world, here comes Karina! 😉 Please let your subscribers know how your doing through the years and what you accomplish. What an inspiration you are and I'm sure your parents are proud of you! Take care and thanks for the positive videos! ♥️🙂
It's so amazing to see that such a young person like you has got the motivation to keep on going and not to give up and throw everything down! You just made my day :)
Getting ready for my prosthetic leg....watched this with much excitement and anticipation....prayers to you, and continued strength as you go forward. You are an inspiration to me, and many others that are going through! Super Excited to move forward....TGBTG!!!
Dennis Saunders congratulations my dear!!! My great Auntie lost her leg. She was so nervous at first. And I’ll tell you when she got her leg she actually ran a marathon! She got 17th place at age 54. That was back in the early 80’s. She had a special leg that was in testing and used for the first time. I was quite young so I don’t really know the functionality and difference... but I was so proud of her! She was a go getter type of person. And when she lost her leg she felt a bit trapped. I remember her saying to me. “The sky is the limit, I can walk again!” Cheering and crying. I cried too! She trained for 2 years and ran that marathon! She had so many things happened to her and her husband. She passed away at the tender age of 74 to cancer. She fought this cancer from her 30’s. Watching this brought back such wonderful memories of her! What an inspirational woman she was! I’m so happy to read your comment! They sky is the limit, and beyond!
I am also waiting for my prosthetic, and am doing the same thing you are. I too lost my right leg below the knee due to an infection caused by diabetes. Good luck, I know you can make it!!
This chokes me up, remembering doing the same thing more than 35 years ago. Remember the pain and suffering, it sets you apart. Never believe you are less of anything just because you are missing a piece.
wow looks like you are recovering so quickly. I just had two of my toes amputated due to infection and seeing you and your positive spirit really helps me. thank you for sharing your story. I hope you are doing well xo
It has been a number of years now, but the first time I walked on my prosthetic leg didn't require any learning. You use the same techniques as walking on a real leg. I never used a walker or crutches, and she didn't really need them either, they were just there to help her confidence. I have nearly the exact same amputation as the nice lady in this video. The "stump" (residual limb) does hurt after a day involving a lot of walking. When you have to get up to use the restroom in the middle of the night, that does pretty much suck. I bought a 4 wheeled "knee scooter" to get around the house without putting on the prosthesis, it's much easier to get around than using a wheelchair would be! The scooter works well if your house has only one level.
Lost my left leg below the knee four weeks ago. I get my first fitting for the mold this coming Monday. Got a bit emotional watching this. I hope that in the time since this video, you have gained eveb more confidence and better stability.
I lost my below the knee 19 September. I'm getting moulded Monday for my prostitic leg. Hoping to be standing in it my end of week. I'm really scared and high emotions watching this .I cried also

Wow. My dad is getting his prosthetic in a week after having his left leg amputated below the knee 5 months ago. We are all very excited for him. He wants to walk and be independent so badly.
Holy crap. She was able to get the technique down so quickly. That was awesome to see that.

Mahir Mussa do you?
The rubber is a flexible rubber that wears down over time so when she gains controller of the knee the bending will get easier. BTW
