Thanks for watching..

I have had mine for a few weeks now, and I'm extremely pleased with it. It's got a really versatile style especially between bracelet and strap, and the no-date, non-screw down crown aspect makes it really easy to wind and set. Easy to pick up in the morning and compatible with the agenda of so many different possible days. So, I think I've found something I'll be wearing a big fraction of the time for years to come.
(Also, my experience ordering and getting delivery to the US was straightforward and very prompt, and after a couple weeks of wearing it was running very well on my timegrapher, consistently well within spec in dial up, 6 up, 9 up positions.)
At $500 I'd consider it, at $900 probably not. But it's a very nice watch, I can't deny that.
$500 range you're looking at Chinese watches but again I wouldn't even pay $500 for Chinese watches
The volume of the painted numerals is amazing!, so cool!.
This looks stunning! In my head, this is what I'd imagine inheriting from my grandparents
This is the 2nd video today for this watch and it looks amazing, especially for the price. I'm not big on dress watches either but I'm a sucker for small seconds. Overall this looks very well done. Great review as usual, sir.
Be aware that cold enamel is not at all the same thing as what you are getting on watches with real enamel dials, which are expensive because of the difficulty of producing a flawless surface by melting glass powder in a high temperature oven. Rather, "Cold enamel is a pigmented epoxy resin which gives the effect of enamel without the use of high temperatures." It's not quite fair to say that this watch has an enamel dial, which makes it sound more high end than it is. Faux enamel would be more accurate.
That said, gorgeous watch! I'd totally wear and love it.
Also, stunning video and thoughtful analysis, as usual!
Well it's exactly my favorite style of dress watch. Great camera work too.
I can think of a lot of other watches for $950 that I would choose before this . Great photography Peter !
Cheers Junior
For me, this is great. An enamel dial with blue hands, this is really reasonable and looks great. Seiko has similar watches, but 40,5mm for $1400 us.
wow ... I'm floored by this watch ... and their first on top of that!
They really hit the ground running, did they?!
Thanks for sharing this great watch b/c, like you, my lifestyle is more casual watches and this one, with the leather strap, I feel I could get this as a great daily wear. They really found the sweet spot when comes time to specs.
Thanks for sharing this great find. Oh, and by the way, I personally love the fact that it's high polished. Gives it a nice "pop!".
For a brand new company like this, a higher-priced first offering makes it a little tricky to break into the market. What I'd like to see them do is add an identical watch with a non-enamel dial, or a cheaper movement... just cut back on those pricier aspects, but keep the design the same. That could offer something for every price-point, and help them gain an initial following.
It's sure brave to hit the ground running with a beautiful piece like this, though. Kudos to them.
Its an excellent watch, no doubt. However, the price is definitely outside of what I can afford. I think a good comparison to this would be the Stowa Marine, which, while it does not have an enamel dial, it is quite similiar to this with heat treated hands, and a very enamel like dial with a railroad track and even separate seconds. Though, the Stowa is quite a bit cheaper. If I could of afforded any of the watches I mentioned (lol) I think I would choose the Stowa because it is lower in price with great quality. This was certainly an awesome video however and I would love to see a comparison between this and the Stowa if possible. Also I look forward for more offerings from this brand.
@Yusuf Best Without the taxes (for non Germany residents), the entry level marines are cheaper.
Personally, stowa is great watch! However, stowa has more sporty and tool watch vibe. Pitzmann has more casual and classy look.
What is the point of this hobby? Little tiny difference. isn't it? If it doesnt matter. Why dont we all buy Maurice lacroix instead of royaloak? 😅
wow, your videography really sold me on this watch. Feel like i'm about to pull the trigger and this is what I needed
Edit just bought it and looking forward to receiving it
I still we are the copy I have and love it..
cheers
I also don't really ever buy dress watches but I do like this one and that says a lot for me. I love what they're doing with this watch and for their first one WOW. If this watch is any indication of what's to come then their next two will be amazing watches too.
I love this brand watch!
Very cool looking watch. Will be keeping my eye on this brand
This looks great. I love that dial and handset. I tend to be attracted to dress watches so the price seems OK to me. If it weren't for the fact that the case is quite similar to my RW Maestro, I would definitely consider this.
Apsolutely stunning piece! Looks perfect, great finish, and a beautiful dial. The only ''downside'' for me is the price.
Beautiful watch, especially the dial!
It's a beautiful homage to dornbluth and sohn caliber 99.1. I'm thinking of getting the dornbluth but might get this one instead now, save money while getting the same look and style
Thats funny. Was thinking the same thing.
I have this watch in person, and I can tell that i highly recommend your choice.
This looks like a Vacheron Constantin historiques american 1921 homage with a circular case. They simply moved the seconds subdial from the 3 o'clock position to the 6 o'clock position.
Yeah I see it, a nice square case on the angle and your almost there 👍
This really pops on the leather strap. Would love to see it on a few different shades of crocodile. I would wager this is the dress equivalent of a strap monster.
It is a lovely piece. It would be classified as a tool watch, being inspired by either a railroad watch (as in Ball in the USA or Citizen in Japan, back in the day) or a maritime watch (which were used on British sea vessels, Stowa makes one true to form), or both. Enamel is the right material for such a time piece. I would prefer if it was smaller, and hand wound. The male end links on the bracelet are a swing and a miss for me. But, the 100m WR is ideal for purpose. This is a very impressive first product out of the brand. It is priced appropriately for it's specs, movement, and finishing.
Very pretty watch indeed...
Thats a superb piece, great video Pete
Thanks Gareth, really impressive in the steel, dont think the video does it justice
cheers mate
Hey Peter, hope all is well in your neck of the woods! 😄👍
I was going back to this Pitzmann review b/c I stumbled on it in my feed and just love the finish on it.
While perusing their website, I noticed they came out with the Pitzmann II and it look fantastic!
Most of all, it's more of a daily wear like you/we love i.e. not as dressy as the first Pitzmann you reviewed here.
I'm just curious if you noticed it and if they reached out to you for a review. It would be interesting to 1 - see it and 2 - get your take on it.
Just sayin' 😉
Thanks for your time my friend.
Yep, second Pitzman coming shortly, just waiting for production versions to be ready. I am looking forward to seeing it myself 👍
@@PeterKotsa - Fantastic! Already looking forward to it! Have a nice morning.
@@timetowatch_francois you too Francois
Thanks Pete well done bro you’re killing it with these videos man. If possible you should review some more omega pieces! 🍻 happy Easter
Cheers Rico, will try mate 👍
The different numeral layout in the small Seconds is messing with my brain bigtime. Aside from that its a stunning piece, really good job with the video and photography!
Thank you. Buying it.
At order page it shows 80usd shipping. Do we need to pay any import duties for USA?
Not sure
Drop them an email and ask 👍
Great video! Love pure white dials
Great review!
Very interesting watch! Love the hands and the breguet numerals!
Hello Pete. Thank you for sharing. It is a gorgeous watch, love the design, specs and quality seems excellent. That said, I am not a huge fan of all highly polished metal on a watch. Some brushing would have balanced it out better for me. Price may seem a little high, but the enamel dial and dial details are brilliant. Overall and excellent piece. Wish this company good luck and continued success. Cheers 👍
Very elegant and versatile watch. Now, Ill put on my beloved Stowa Marine 36... 😉
Beautiful piece!!
Hey Josh, in the hand it captures the light really well
you should check out the Perpetual watches SC03.. beautiful design, enamel dial, sapphire crystal, thermally blued hands, individually regulated, it even has a metal movement spacer ring and great customer service (from what i've heard) and all that for $200..
Beautiful looking watch. I would love to see this alongside a Zelos Nova, another hand wound more dressy piece.
They are nice as well but scarce now.
I'm into dress watches, I'm researching this piece and price is secondary, it's if I like the watch or not and this one is growing on me. It's just like an A Lange and Sohne 1815 only I'd like this one in Rose gold too hopefully they will have it by the time I order
Like the dial design ... a bit more refined from the many many many 'dirty dozen' homages out there. Love the blues hands, very nice dimensions, good finishing and specs and a great Swiss movement. That said you are paying a premium for all this. Water resistance and screw down crown would have been nice but don't bother me as much on this one since it is a field/dress watch. Not a fan of the polished center links on the bracelet, I think a bigger (maybe onion crown) would suit the whole 'pocket watch conversion' aesthetic better and not a fan of the mishmash brand name Pitzmann - Western, Seoul - South Korea?
Beauty, Beauty, Beauty !!!
F A N T A S T I C ! ! ! 💯👍😀
Lovely looking watch :)
Very nice Peter. Much like you, I’m not someone who would wear a watch of this presentation. I appreciate them, and even love their look. But in the past I have purchased something of this ilk only to be disappointed that my entire lifestyle doesn’t fit this aesthetic. No denying that this looks the cats whiskers though.
Really like the watch- but would have loved this if it were around 9 mm in thickness.
I can certainly appreciate a finely finished time piece albeit this style is not for me and not one I'd look to purchase. That being said I will be on the lookout for their next release, perhaps good things to come
I cannot find their website. Where is it? Thanks.
I left a link in my description : www.pitzmann.com
Lovely vintage inspired watch
Very nice watch. The quality does look impeccable. But the price is just out of my price range. As I'm located in South Korea though, I would really like to see it in the flesh
This is a beautiful piece. Definitely cries out for a black leather strap!
I agree Evan, I would have loved to see it dressed up in that alligator strap they have for this
Nice, finely a bling-free watch you can be proud off..
Nice watch. Good video 👍. Not in my budget at the moment but I'm wondering is this actually made in Korea? In my large collection that's one country that is not represented.
Their website states that they build the watches in Seoul, South Korea
looks like an old nurse's fob watch, I like the enamel dial
I like the italic Arabic numerals.
God this is really cool piece I wish the price was at least $700 or the offer coupons for first buyers.
The polished mid links are a minor grasp to me aswell. But other than that it looks really nice.
Absolutely beautiful.
I will nickname it the F. Pitz Journe.
Love the watch, love the review 🎉
I feel like if, as you mentioned, there had been a bit more finesse in the finishing rather than the fully polished, it would have made this a must have. As it is, the price is hard to justify, even as cool as an enamel dial and heat blued hands are. I feel like they're just about 100-200USD higher than they should be.
You're right, that would have used it over the line
but in saying that, I still have the watch here and I have been wearing it, there is definitely something 'special' the way it wears and makes you feel..the printing is so crisp and easy on the eyes 👍
@@PeterKotsa For sure. For me it just always boils down to the opportunity cost, when you're getting into that close to 1000 range you're opening a lot of options up :)
To be fair though there are a lot of watches you just have to handle in person as you mentioned, and sometimes they just charm you!
Sinn 556 I or Nomos Club for an everyday, versatile watch? 🤔
Nomos gets my vote.
Sinn.
Nice. Where do you get one in Australia?
the companies website : www.pitzmann.com
Definitely looks more at home as a dress watch on a leather strap for me.
Not to my taste, not really into dressier watches, but definitely a nice watch none the less.
I 100% agree with the screw in crown comment though, there are plenty of ‘non dive’ sports / chronograph watches out there I would consider if they had a screw in crown.👍
It's a gorgeous watch! A very classic design with basically nothing done wrong. I'm a sucker for blued details. It's just the brand which zero lineage.
This looks fantastic, I really enjoy seeing the occasional dress watch on your channel Peter. I'm based in Melbourne too, how was shipping and such from Korea? Cheers
It was good Brandon, it arrived here from South Korea in 4 days
@@PeterKotsa Good to hear, cheers Peter. Let us know if this one ever goes up for a giveaway!
This is good value for the specs.
If you have an opportunity, take a look at Origin Railway. Runs a bit bigger at 40.5, but also has an enamel dial, chemically treated blue hands that look stunning, brushing on the side case, handwind movement and display caseback and $200 less than this!
Very nice looks but that price is tough. Looks somewhat similar to a Tisell Deck Watch, which also has heat blued hands, a claimed enamel dial, and a miyota 9015 for about $250.
I wish it was a tiny bit smaller. Today’s trend dictates larger size, but for me anything larger than 38 (unless a diver watch) just looks gaudy. A few classic brands are able to keep this in perspective. Otherwise, with enamel dial dial, Swiss movement, and thoughtful classic design this seems like a great watch.
damn it Peter, I said I wouldn't buy a watch this year... this might get me
lol
Looks just like an A Lange and Sohne 1815. 1:1 too
Damn and right down to the style of the hands!!
The Pitzman website describes the enamel dial of their watch as “cold” enamel. This kind of enamel is not real enamel. Cold enamel is hardened liquid resin. Real enamel is glass, fired at high temperature and very difficult to produce to perfection. The watch is beautiful but I’m not sure I would pay such a high price for a non-high fired enamel dial.
I don't know why but looking at this remind me Credor watches.
Impressive watch and more impressive your review...
Thank you kindly Durga 🙏
@@PeterKotsa tq sir..
Hey Pete , I'm almost the same as yourself , more of a dive/sports watch type of guy and this looks very nice but it does nothing for me - couple times in the review you say ' you got to see this in hand or in the flesh to appreciate' sadly unless Pitzman wants to send me one to try out I'll never see one in the flesh or in hand :)
Hey also my friend if the watch isn't your cup of tea I'll buy it off of you. Just let me know sir.
A very surprising watch, I have had it for nearly 4 months now and it has really grown on me (I didn't expect that), cheers Andre
Its ok... Nice watch...
It’s a very nice watch but I find it pricey and I am not a fan of the polished bracelet and case.
Not a fan of the logo. Reminds me of the CJ Group logo which coincidentally is South Korean. Other than that and the basic ('classic' & then eyeroll) case design, which is also a little thick for a dress watch, I think they have done a really great job here. My suggestion for this brand would be to use an ETA 7001, thin the case out and remove the logo or the text.
For that price, I'll stick to my Vario 1918!
Reminds me of Seikos, only this is cheaper, and better sized.
Seiko enamel would be my choice still.
Beautiful watch. Love the dial, blued had, small seconds, the style of the numbers. Would have to see in hand the stepped bezel, some work some don't. Finally, logo plus brand name plus city name is a bit too much for an otherwise very clean design. The font used also seems a bit off. 2mm more in diameter would be better. Nonetheless, quite impressive for a first effort.
Nice dial but as you say, who decided on an entirely polished case 🥴
Dual screws are a pain. And the closed case back is a disappointment and a joke for a watch in the $900 range with the bracelet. But a sweet watch. But who wants a $900 watch with a closed case back?
These basic movements are disappointing to look at...they often cheapen the watches aesthetics.
For me again, the biggest downsize is the size! To small! 39 mm is in my opinion for kids. The watch does look well made and materials are nice. No specs on the dial, nice sapphire.
Nothing notable for the price ,very basics specs, look, quality, for me boring watch but your review is top thanks peter....
I expected a few more comments like yours Jose, only because that is what I felt the effect this watch would have in the video.
In saying that, I really feel this needs to held and seen in person to appreciate the overall experience and how it simply works so well.
Nonetheless, thanks for sharing
Get a grip, this has an enamel dial. That is really hard to work with. A Scottish watch brand charges bear $2000 for this.
On the leather strap it looks nice but I think on the bracelet it looks a bit over the top. Not sure I like Seoul on it but it’s their watch so they can do what they want. I don’t see the point in the blued hands but maybe I’m missing the point. And I see no logic in having a scratchable top coating on a non scratchable sapphire crystal.
The coating on the sapphire crystal is an Antireflective coating both on the top and bottom of the glass surface.
Omega and Sinn does this quite well, however the top coating seems to fingerprint and mark heaps. This has anti-fingerprint Antireflective coating one the top...it works beautifully, no issues all week with marks or smudges or fingerprints 👍
Hope that makes sense
@@PeterKotsa I don’t like that Omega have a top coating either. I just don’t want a top coating that can scratch.
@@aussie8114 yeah I hear you. They are getting better from the stuff they offered years ago. The coatings are getting harder and more resilient
Remove the logo, keep the "Pitzmann" text
The strap is hobbit size again, too short, can you send a nice NATO strap along?
Maybe a nice blue nato to suit the handset
Like the look not the px
Beautiful watch, but I think this is cold enamel. Very different than the true enameling.
A brand that deceives consumers really has no answer.
First
The price is NOT right
Nice looking watch, but not for me at that price, max $600. Goofy looking logo, what's it supposed to represent?
The price for first watch being microbrand is just to high. There is so mutch watches from so mutch older brands.Maybe this could be their second watch. It's a beautiful watch, but for
example so as the Tissot prx or gentleman with powermatic 80 etc etc............
Beautiful dial and stunning hands, though a bit pricy
Not a screwup crown 👑 👎👎😝
The name sucks
It is way too expensive for a no name microbrand, altho I love every piece of it.
