Great video. i have a 2006 Toyota Wish model (D4 VVT-i as well, 1999cc)...encountered the same problem a couple of days back. i was really worried. i was fortunate enough to figure it out as well. i must say. its such a huge relief. now, as a question do you think replacing the starter motor brushes is a good idea instead of replacing the motor altogether? i ask coz my mechanic said he can replace the brushes instead.
