- Hope you enjoyed my take on these DIY sock boots! Let me know which was your fave: black or nude?
All it took was a pair of chunky block heels and some socks! I got mine from Wal-Mart.
The heels that I'm using are a pair of Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) croc embossed heels, but of course any type of heel that is stockier and thicker will do!

Use non slip sticky adhesive for the sole of the shoe. I'm not sure why people are using fuckin sand paper like it won't scratch up the flooring you're walking on 🙄

So I feel like companies are going to start selling these lol like sell the socks with the hole sewn or something so it won't look ripped or become bigger and they'll also add some sort of grip to the bottom and sell those. Idk if that makes sense but I totally see them selling these

I agree that a cute velvet bootie would look better, but if your bored and wanna change up your shoes without spending a lot of money its a good diy!
Add some of those non-slip shoe pads to the bottom so the socks don't get holes in them from you walking they also help finish the look. I'm going to make a couple of them so I can change them with my outfit awesome tutorial!! You go girl!!

This is a great DIY! Personally, I would double up on socks to make the "boot" look more solid because I hate seeing the outline of the heel through the one sock

Just curious, is anyone really gonna wear this out in public? You can definitely tell it's a sock when you walk around because our feet moves around more in heels than in actual boots.

Cindy Wang that is exactly what I was thinking. It's a very cute idea just but they aren't made for actual use, only for show. And if you walk down a hall way you're going to fall.

honestly, I find sock boots to be gorgeous, and this is coming from someone who exclusively wears ballet flats and despises heels. The way I see it, if you use black socks and put an adhesive padding on the soles, they can look quite nice. Not for a rainy day, but affordably chic if you ask me.
Would I wear diy sock boots in public? if I took good care of them, totally. If someone's spending so much time staring and judging shoes, they should find more substance in life.

you have to put sandpaper under the bog part of the heel so it wont be slippery

Gildan is a good durable brand of socks, most of my band t's are Gildan.
Wouldn't they completely fall apart the first time you wear them outside? They'll literally rip by the time you've walked a block.

I think it looks great, but preferably, two - three pairs of socks on the heel would have been much better. Simply because u wouldn't see the alignment of the plump shoe , seemingly people would notice its a plump heel and it would look more thicker , original

Sandpaper is going to mess up the floor. Alternative to sandpaper is needed🙄
Lyric Butler no slip soles are cheap asf just go get some of those and pop them on the bottom
Lyric Butler hot glue will dry and work as an alternative to make it nonslip.
Lyric Butler you don't have to use sandpaper. You can go to a shoe store and buy heel bottoms.
Get nonslip pads for the bottoms :)

why are there so many women's shoes that are essentially pumps with a leg cover on it that then get called boots when everything above the pump part of it adds nothing structurally? i mean its not built like a boot structurally, so why call it a boot? why is it not like "knee pump" or something?
