    Version 5 finally fixes the curves produced during volume deformation, and imho, this is the most interesting feature when using bellow 21mm super wide angle lenses. We're finally going to use this regularly :)

    Your Cat looks really chilled in the background. that is wonderful! I also like your idea that Viewpoint could be useful for film photographers, Viewpoint when combined with PhotoLab lets you fix a lot of wide angle image distortion and perspective on Raw files which is a great integration of the two programs.

      Haha she co-opted the beanbag I bought for myself and it's now just an inconveniently enormous, expensive cat bed 😼 Yeah I must admit I completely forgot to cover the PhotoLab integration - I actually have a couple of ideas of other things I want to test out but didn't have time for this video, so if they work out I'll put them in another video soon 😀

    01:50 Slight correction. The front standard (lens plane) shift, tilt and swing doesn't correct the perspective, it controls only the angle of view and depth of field.
    The rear standard (film plane) shift, tilt and swing adjusts the perspective.
    But as both are relative to each other, the rear standard movement will as well adjust the angle of view and depth of field. But front standard can't adjust the perceived perspective as in "falling building".
    If someone is serious about architecture photography, then they use Large Format cameras and specifically the Architecture Cameras. As Architecture camera has the two movable standards in the beam, and other large format cameras might not have even either one moving, as they can be simply collapsing for compact form and support only focusing.
    The T/S lenses do not offer what is required in complex product and architecture photography, as you can only tilt and shift the FOV and DOF.
    You get away for many situations just by keeping the body properly angled for the shot and perspective, and then shift and tilt the lens, but you get just one movement direction for both. So you can shift for one direction and then tilt for the same direction.
    Where with architecture camera you get four different movements, all done together, pairing two standards, and your only limit is the image circle size or bellows shading.

      Ooh thanks for the correction! 😀 After making the video I did discover that tilt/shift lens limitation - I always thought you could rotate them and tilt/shift in independent directions.
      I’ve still never shot a large format camera, though it is on my to-do list someday! I know there’s a couple of complex medium format cameras with movements (like a monster Fujifilm one) but I’m not sure if they’re limited in a similar way 🤔

    Very intrigued to try this out with woodland shots. Ive been playing around recently correcting perspectives on photographs taken with a wide angle in a tall pine forest. The lightroom tool doesn't seem to give me the results I'm after. I usually end up with something unusable but that could also be down to how i shoot the shot in the first place. Interesting tool nonetheless

      @@robert_may I certainly shall, i've been using Wentwood and Hensol just around the corner as they have lovely tall pines. The sense of scale it brings when you get them just right is exactly the look I'm after. Although I'm mostly spending my time behind the camera sat at the side of a racetrack at the moment haha.

      Ooh yeah - it's the Davinci Resolve Speed Editor: www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/products/davinciresolve/keyboard. Interesting little thing and it takes some getting used to, but it makes cutting the videos together a bit less tedious 😅 I'm terrible at memorising keyboard shortcuts so this is a big help for video edits. It was mostly in this video because I filmed the intro/outro segments this morning at the last minute 🙈

      I don't believe they're supported in the standalone version, but they are inside PhotoLab. I must admit I completely forgot to cover that integration in this video 🙈

      @@robert_may many thanks, it would be great if even in PL8 or Photoshop Nikon Raw, or DNG could be used for ultimate quality. Many thanks, John

      @@Johnd3s Yeah it'd be nice if all the standalone apps were able to shift the RAW files about - I know this has been raised a few times in the DxO press calls I've attended so at least they're aware of it, and hopefully we'll see some updates around it in the future 😀
