This is The Ultimate Body Language Guide (a part of the Beefriend Course). If you are wondering how to read body language then you've come to the right place. Reading body language is one of the most important skills to cultivate if you want to improve your social life. It allows you to quickly tell how someone is feeling in almost any situation. So today I'm going to cover the midsection of the body which includes the chest, torso, belly, and hips - by going over 29 additional signs and movements. We will do a deep analysis on what each of the mean all while providing you with an example of what it looks like in real life.
DISCLAIMER: All of the information presented in this video, is taken straight from body language expert and former FBI agent Joe Navarro's book, "The Dictionary Of Body Language".

#bodylanguage
a more less known body language move is when someone sticks their middle finger up and the back of their hand is facing you this means that they are either mad at you or hate you
Or they’re posing for a photo
@@snowflake8191 Yeah, my brother does it every time I want to take a photo of him 🤷♀️
I thought that meant they’re interested 😢
I thought it was the "California howdy"
Lol
Just like any body language, this should be taken within context. What may be anxious behaviour for one person can be an expression of happiness for another. Even the same person can display the same behavior in different contexts implying different feelings.
yeah id say 50/50 chance correct
*Don't let insecure thoughts ruin something amazing!*
❤️
Slouching: "It is often used to show others that they don't really care about what's being said."
Teachers: Wait a minute!!
I read that I sync with a Reese’s commercial going, “Wait a minute! Pretzels!!”
I do it to hide my chest bc I'm trans
Well, I just do this to relieve stress
LMAOOOO
I do it because my back hurts, or I'm tired of standing upright. It is more comfortable.

Deep Breath + Rapid Breathing: Stress, fear, anger, or exercise.
Shallow Breath + Rapid Breathing: A sign of fear or anxiety. More shallow = more anxiety. Instructing the person to take large slow breaths can help them calm down.
Pressing On Solar Plexus: Pressing/rubbing near the lower chest area, this is a passifying movement because of the nerve endings there. More stressed = pushes harder.
Palm On Chest: Sign of sincerity but watch for intention. Honest people do it with more force and use their full hand and vice versa for deceptive people.
Collarbone Massage: As it sounds, done when someone is stressed or feels vulnerable.
Hand Raking Of Chest: Fingers are curved like a rake and are pressed or moving at the chest area. Sign of anxiety and often seen in a panic attack.
Pulling Clothing To Ventilate: A sign that something is wrong, but it can happen for many reasons. Due to weather, exercise, environment, and stress, our body gets hot and we need to ventilate.
Body Chill: Some get colder in stressful situations. Others are just cold.
Playing With Clothing: a passifying behavior when someone is nervous or in a tense situation, mostly when someone is bored.
Leaning Away: When in a interaction and one is leaning away. It is a sign of disagreement, a way to not be associated with what was said.
Sitting Back: This is also a sign of disagreement, but also a sign that they want to step away from the conversation for a bit and think. Use other indicators to find the intention.
Sitting Forward: Opposite of above, a sign of agreement. Though leaning too much might be indicating that you are too eager, invested, and can come across as desperate. Avoid when negotiating and dating.
Belly Away: A vulnerable area, when turned away it is a sign that one is uncomfortable or in dessagreement. Over 30 minutes of facing away from you means they likely want you to leave.
Belly Towards: Opposite of above, comfortable or interested in someone.
Belly Covering: Using objects of arms to cover up the belly area, this occurs when one is feeling scared or vulnerable.
Mirroring: Doing the same movement as some else subconsciously, meaning both people are comfortable or in agreement.
Rigid Sitting: Sitting upright and barley moving. A freeze response when someone is really scared, usually seen when one is being interviewed or interrogated.
Ejection Seat Effect: when someone is sitting and gripping the edges of their seat/armrest. Also a freeze response when someone is really scared.
Slouching: Can mean that someone doesn’t care about the conversation, avoid this in formal settings.
Doubling Over: Beginning over with hand on stomach, like they have a somach pain. This is when someone is experiencing emotional termoil. Often when someone receives bad news.
Fetal Position: Curled up on themselves, a sign of extreme negative emotions and an attempt to deal with the stress.
Belly Movements (Pregnant): When a pregnant woman feels scared they will cover the belly instinctively to protect the baby. Also rubbing their belly to deal with discomfort.
Hip Shifting: Usually when shitting. This is a sight of bordom or one is stressed. Can aslo be a sign that someone is tired of sitting to much or to calm themselves down and reduce tension.
Hip Rubbing: Another passifying movement when someone is nervous, but also if one has sweaty hands.
Hip Rocking: Rocking back and forth while sitting. This is a sign of severe stress and usually seen in those with mental disorders.
Hip Swaying: Rocking side to side while sitting is usually out of boredom, the movement replicates the rocking movement of a cradle and is soothing for many.
Hips Out: Standing with one leg bend making their butt bigger. Made to grab attention no matter the gender. Often seen in the court process.
Genital Framing: Placeing their thumbs inside their belt of pants as a dominance display. Mostly used by men to appear stronger and tougher. Also used to grab attention.
Genital Covering: used when one feels anxious to protect vital parts of their body.
Sorry, but the typo for Hip Shifting 😂
Always beleive in your gut feelings even if body language says something else. When you are in doubt, there is no doubt!
8:27 you can almost tell he’s trying not to laugh
Great video and the whole course. Many thanks for updating.
These exercises are very effective, thanks!
These make me realise I do a lot of the confident poses already. A little bit of an ego boost tbh as it shows I’m more confident than I think I am!
Lmao for me it’s the opposite. This video made me realize that my body language is a mess. Something to work on I guess
These videos are a gold mine. Thanks man
I just loved watching your vedios and it helps me improving my life
I feel like covering the belly can also signify a poor body image
Me too
I agree
Never been this early

Great video as always ;)
For the belly facing one, some of the military guys here will purposefully angle themselves so that they are not directly "opposing" the person they are talking to, in order to appear less intimidating. Is this also a thing?
As far as I know, yes, it's to make the situation look less like a confrontation.
Informative video👍
True and real and wonderful 👍 inspiring and in communication and connection ❤
Hi bro
Only one thing
You changed my life ☺️🥰
Ending the video on 9:57. Wow respect dude
Man. I do a lot of these on a regular basis.
It would be great if your videos would be mandatory in school, thank you for helping us.
Nice
Hi, may you do a video on how to have endless chatting (texting), I do prefer calling but most of the time we need texting social skills...I guess I make sense...
Great
Just a question that I was waiting for you to answer during these videos,
By now, I know over 150 body language movements
should I avoid doing the body language movements on myself that I know are bad such as the collarbone massage
which is better, to control my body language, or to let it free and act normally based on the situation?
thanks ip.
I would say to control and make it an habit, so if you wanna be and appear confident in a situation you know how
I'd recommend to control it... To a certain extent, and depending on the situation.
If you're in a confrontation, or a delicate situation, controlling your body language is very important. If you're around people you'd like to know a bit, you could try to hide a tiny bit of your shyness or negative habits. If you're with friends you've known for long enough, or just close enough friends/ family members, I'd advise you to be natural.
I'd recommend you only control your body language to avoid uncomfortable situations if needed. Hope this helps :]
That’s for this video
1:55 this is funny knowing I do exactly this every time I get panic attacks
Can you do a video on how to find the right time to ask someone out, im always nervous because it feels like theres too many people around, and I don't want too many people around.
"Palm on chest. This is when someone puts their palm on their chest."
Me: (rapidly writing down notes) revolutionary concepts
I know how to talk with people and Im quite charismatic but only when other people open up,
Can this be a subject of the next video?
Also I am quite articulated when I talk (use my hands, like for example Obama) but some people in my class dont like that, am I the problem or dont they just understand?
"hips out" is what I usually do while conversations to stand comfortable. I am not trying to get anybodies attention nor want to be attractive to others.
The thumbnail got me 😩
Could you guys remember me, the name of the video in which you mention: the six p"s. Prior planning prevents piss poor performances? Thanks.
Very nice
Hey improvement Pill Can you talk about Lucid Dreaming? , It's been a while and literally everyone is talking about it I really would be happy to check your opinion about this 🖤
literally
How do you find background music ?
This is something Sai would watch
Watching this really makes me realize how many people actually hate me including my friends

But what's the meaning behind a person scratching their balls during a conversation?

You talked about the body language of hips and stuff, but butt is not talkes about 😞
Just go out and interact with people. It's more helpful then watching some random guys breathing. No front
