This is The Ultimate Body Language Guide (a part of the Beefriend Course). If you are wondering how to read body language then you've come to the right place. Reading body language is one of the most important skills to cultivate if you want to improve your social life. It allows you to quickly tell how someone is feeling in almost any situation. So today I'm going to cover the arms and shoulders - by going over 30 additional signs and movements. We will do a deep analysis on what each of the mean all while providing you with an example of what it looks like in real life.
DISCLAIMER: All of the information presented in this video, is taken straight from body language expert and former FBI agent Joe Navarro's book, "The Dictionary Of Body Language".

#bodylanguage
On my jog today, I saw this little old lady talking to her cat. From her hand gestures and body language it was clear she thought the cat understood her. I hope I never get that lonely and senile.
Anyway...I went home and told my dog about her. We laughed and laughed..
WHATt LOl I CANT 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
omg that ending tho :)
Hahaha that made my night !
Looool
I was NOT ready for It🤣🤣
PSA: remember sometimes arms are just arms and don’t *always* mean something. I cross my arms all the time just to rest them on one another.
Thanks~~~
When I cross my arms it's very rarely ever due to not liking so don't depend on this one too much.
l
Like he stated in the video, it can mean a number of things.
You have to take all the factors into consideration like facial expressions and feet positioning.
For me I usually cross my arms for comfort but also when I’m bored and want to “close out” the conversation.
He says in the video to look at there facial expressions and tone of voice when looking at their arms
@@Re-bl5sr he says in the video that its only one of the possible meanings, you most likely never going to cross your arms to rest them.
Hello, and welcome to communication guide for introverts.
Let us start off with some complex stuff.
1)A Handshake: This occurs when the individual reaches out their hand towards you, usually during introduction , or at the end of the conversation.
This is not a sign of them wanting whatever is in your hand, infact , they want your hand itself, to test the quality of it. They usually give it a slight jiggle, and are satisfied. The key to this interaction is to jiggle THEIR hand more than they jiggle yours. This asserts dominance, which you can you use to get out of conversations,or ally with the induvidual.
2)Eye contact : This is a weird one. Individuals feel more comfortable, when you look into the endless black void present in the eyes. This shows you are not afraid of the void , and are willing to fight it.
Having done these two shall buy you about 10 seconds to formulate an escape plan. If they start a conversation (we will get into this in the next segment) carry on with the best of your knowledge. Else, it is a tried and tested plan to make them talk about themselves. This shall keep them engaged, without much effort from your side.
My passage is finished. It is still unknown how to truly end a conversation so...
just pretend your mom called you for dinner.
K I gtg for dinner. Bye
Thanks~~~

Signs of UwU weeaboo 👉😋👈
Ikr
Hahaha
😂
Raising One Shoulder: A sign of lack of confidence or more room for negotiations depending on the situation.
Shoulder Interest: When a shoulder is raised, head is tilted, and there is direct eye contact. They might be interested in the conversation or the person they are talking to.
Holding Shoulders High: Doing this for an extended period of time that means one lacks confidence or is shy. Called The Turtle Effect because it’s like a turtle hiding in it’s shell.
Shoulder Shrug: This means that someone doesn’t know something, usually a response to a question. The faster this movement is done, the more likely they really don’t know.
Shoulder Rubbing: Rubbing or scratching one’s shoulder, can also drag it to their shoulder and back again repeatedly. Used to relieve stress.
Shoulders Widening: the more wider the shoulder, the more confident they seem. Used to impress and prove confidence.
Please Why Not: Palms and head are faced up. Commonly used while begging and seen in children and athletes talking to their coach.
Bowing: Lowering torso. This is a sign of respect used a lot in Asian countries.
Hugging: Has multiple indicators. Usually used to comfort someone, greet, say farewell, express positive emotions and shows closeness and cooperation. Look at facial expressions how they truly feel though.
Arms Against Body, Hands Flexed: Arms are pinned at sides and hands are linear. A sing that someone is exited and is trying to contain it.
Arms Elevated: Raised arms when one is experiencing positive emotions.
Arms Held Behind Back: usually while standing, seen in royalty and a sign that someone wants space. Avoid in public settings as it makes you look distant and less approachable.
Arms Stiffening: arms at sides and not moving, resembling a robot. An indicator of negative emotions.
Exposing Armpits: I.e. Putting arm on the couch cushions or scratching your head. A sign of comfort and potentially romantic interest. Hiding armpits is the exact opposite. Be aware of sudden changes.
Arms Crossing: This can mean a variety of things including just resting one’s arms.
Arm Crossing (Self Hugging): This is usually done for comfort.
Arm Crossing (Protection): When threatened or nervous one crosses their arms to protect the belly area, a vulnerable area. Facial expressions and tense arms are a sign that this is for protection an not something else.
Arm Crossing (Self-Restraint): when dealing with strong emotions and trying to refrain from setting them off, one crosses their arms. Pay attention to facial expression and voice when looking for this.
Arm Crossing (Dislike): Done when disliking the person in front of them and is accompanied by signs in the belly and feet.
Arm Crossing (Massaging): crossed arms with one hand massaging the opposite arm. Pacifying movement when worried or stressed out.
Arm Crossing (Holding Wrist): Crossed halfway and massaging wrist. Seen when asked a difficult question or given negative information.
Arm Spreading: Spreading arms on objects around them as a territorial display. It shows confidence and high status. People withdraw their arms when a person of higher status walks in.
Elbows Widening: Bends elbows to claim more space. Sitting or standing. Territorial and shows confidence, also used to emphasize what we are saying.
Elbows Narrowing: Opposite of above, bringing in elbows is a sign of insecurity and lack of confidence.
Elbows Interlocking: Locking with another person at the elbows. Signs of intimacy, a private conversation, and two people being comfortable with each other.
Wrist Exposure: Exposing the wrist to those we are comfortable with as the wrist is a vulnerable area.
Goosebumps: Hair follicles bulge to make tiny bumps on skin, happens when one is scared, sick, or cold.
Standing Hairs: Hairs on the body stand up. Sign of extreme fear.
Excessive Sweating: A reaction to stress, heat, and exercise. Can make you look suspicious and is a sign someone is hiding something.
Self-Injury Cuts: Intentional cuts to feel something or to stifle another emotion. Seen in those who are depressed, bipolar, or emotionally unstable. If you see these signs, it means they need help and are going through something difficult.
Needle Tracks: When someone does drugs and injects them through main veins on their arm, leaving small injuries or tracks.

Standing hair doesn't mean fear at least to me. I usually experience it when I get feelings of inspiration
Thanks~~~
Like with music or a gd convo💯
Not inspiration bt when someone appreciates us and we start blushing 😂😅
Sameee
Ah yes, human emotions, i too, learn human emotions to connect with my fellow humans
totally, *now how long till the ship arrives?
ty human, I am human also
Goosebumps and standing hairs can also be a sign of extreme body control... This comes from the fact that you can also have them when feeling exited which stimulates the same brain part or when feeling "powerful" which comes from lets say reaching a goal or having great success with something... Some people simulate this to feel better which can help in various situations, but this special case is very rare but can be observed in buisness settings...
Wait, isk if this is a joke or real lol
When I See or hear something beautiful/smth I find rlly pretty or get inspired by smth I get goosebumps (Not always tho)

Excuse me, but do you have a video that you recommend or are you going to do one, about how to feel like doing something (It happens to me a lot that I have things to do from the faculty, I try to do it as soon as possible but when the day comes I say "tomorrow I do ”and so you reinstate times until the day comes and I do it in a hurry, knowing that if I started it when I had planned it I would have done it much better. Thank you for your time and sorry for the long text.
You should make a book, I would definitely buy it.

it is important to keep in mind that the interpretation of some movements is cultural defined. Hugging might be more accepted in america but wont in europe.

It's been over two years since the course started. Is this the last of the series?
Ah yes, just in time for my date

Is this actually true or just theoretical ? Like if I have crossed my arms in public does that mean I'm unapproachable ? Also do people really focus on these things ? I've never focused on anyone's body language as it's not necessary
I don’t think anyone actively focuses on others body language but I think it’s a subconscious thing because I heard once that body language is around 80-90% of communication so whether or not we’re aware, we do notice other peoples body language
@@onwards.and.upwards oh so like ppl around me would've thought that I'm nervous or less confident while i was crossing my arms (i do like it as it's a way of resting my arms and i don't prefer my arms to hang around).
Or i would've thought that certain guy is confident when he was talking with a loud voice while explaining while doing hand movements and looking everyone in the eye.
She bad

I feel like we know most of these , we use body language quite a lot i feel . I got told that i have my arms out when i walk, as if i was about to attack someone , witch wasn't1 coverered here , is it just a sign of insecurity ?

Just don't be weak. That's the only trigger warning you'll ever need.
he did put a trigger-warning in the minute 7:49 tho.
@@MrSkabeaters that's a little bit mean :/
@@mireiadelsogarzon224 It wasn't meant to be mean or mean spirited. A person has to choose to be offended, it isn't a reaction, it is a choice. If you really think my comment was mean you're either weak too, or you've been brainwashed by the weak. Stop coddling everyone. Choose to take this as constructive criticism and not as an offensive attack, or ignore it and move on with your life.
Warnings for people who are too sensitive waste the time of those who are not. If you venture into the internet on your own, you take risks.
