Shutter Speed? Fundamentals Explained | Photography for Beginners | Learnability

In this video, we go over the fundamentals of shutter speed in a camera and discuss how it controls light exposure and motion.This is a great photography tutorial for beginners trying to understand what shutter speed is used for. Using our own animation of a soccer ball, we explain how shutter speed helps freeze or show motion blur and streaks in a photograph. Just like a movie theater projector uses a filmstrip to show motion using individual frames, we explain how its similar to taking photographs to freeze or blur the action.
You can learn how to hear different shutter speed sounds so you may get an idea if the shutter speed used was slow or fast, a trick photographers use quite often

Using a Canon 1D Mark IIN, 8.5 fps photographs are also shown of birds flying on a lake. These frames are stitched together to make it look like a movie to explain the concept.
