Great content but as an Afghan born in Iran and grown up in Afghanistan I can 100% say that Persian, Dari and Tajik are just different dialekts of the same language. Not different languages!!!!!
As an Iranian-Tajik mix I totally agree. I can understand all three dialects. Maybe 90% is fully understandable. Its more like a heavy accent or dialect
Question: Is the name people call the language actually about the dialect used or not? I know most "Tajiks" in Afghanistan speak Persian* natively,** and Wikipedia says they are the main speakers of "Dari" in Afghanistan, but do people actually distinguish between whether they speak "Dari", "Tajik", or "Farsi", or just always call it "Dari" in Afghanistan? (Or maybe it's called "Tajik" when "Tajiks" speak it and "Dari" when non-Tajiks speak it?) *I use the term "Persian" to refer to Farsi, Dari, and Tajik collectively. I think that's common, but I'm not sure. **as do some non-Tajiks, and others speak it as a second/third/fourth language
@@Mr.Nichan well in the beginning all three were called Farsi, but when UK and Russia started colonizing Persian territories (Tajikistan and Afghanistan) they wanted to break the unity between the people of Iran (aka Persia) and their countrymen who now were under russian and british rule. That's when they came up with names such as Dari and Tajiki. Tajiki literally means Farsi in the turkic languages of the region. However, over the years their accents became distinguishable and now they became dialects due to their loan words from Russina in Tajiki, English in Dari and more French in Farsi, it is obvious when someone speak Dari compared to Tajiki or Farsi. However if we start speaking formal Farsi they are 99% understandable. Thats why when the politicians meet they all speak formal Farsi. Iran though is very different cause someone can speak Farsi but others could not understand because there are a lot of different accents and dialects in the country itself. Kurdish comes from Old Persian but the languages have changed so much that we can't understand one another, we could tell you what they are talking about since they use same old persian words but we can't understand fully.

My friend was a nurse in Tajikistan for a couple of years, so I couldn’t wait to share this with her. You guys have definitely stepped up your special effects game since the early days. Bravo!
With every episode, I find more and more interesting. After all the countries complete, it will be time to revise the countries like starting from A again.
I went to an expo on Tadjikistan and one of my friend's mother was an archeologist who worked there. The amount of wonder the climate, the rock and the culture was able to keep is insane. They are probably some of my favorite antique art of all time, I love the copper bulls and goats.

Similar idea of clustering whatever information there is for the Arctic region. 2. The Knights of Malta explained (for the territories, mention the extraterritorial buildings where their HQ's are in Rome, the castle on the island of Malta itself they are renting, and how the personal land propoerties of the members are also kind of natioanl territory for them as well.) 3. Gibralter, Ceuta, Melilla, Sardinia, Corsica, and the Balearic Islands explained. 4. Micronations in current times (I would look at Sealand, Seborga, Mollasia, etc. and investigate the meaning of 'national identity' to a population). 5. Discuss the current development of the East African Federation as a proposed nation.
I would also consider a Bougainville Timeline. What’s happen since their Independence Refenderum, what still needs to happen before they ready to declare independence. What they maybe going to known for! Maybe a Geography Preview!

The Geography Now episodes on Central Asia and Eastern Europe are always my favourite. These countries are where I want to go the most, but it's really expensive to get there from Australia, so I really appreciate learning through these.
Love Tajkistan from Brazil 🇧🇷♡🇹🇯

My friend was a nurse in Tajikistan for a couple of years, so I couldn’t wait to share this with her. You guys have definitely stepped up your special effects game since the early days. Bravo!
Мухаббат ва эхтиром ба Точикистон аз Кашмир.❤❤❤
Love and respect to Tajikistan from Kashmir❤❤❤
Jonm asti barodaram ♥️
With every episode, I find more and more interesting.
After all the countries complete, it will be time to revise the countries like starting from A again.
I agree with you, all the episodes from A to like G are extremely short and outdated
The A countries seriously need to be redone and the China episode glossed over way too many things
Love all over the world from TAJIKISTAN!👋♥️
I went to an expo on Tadjikistan and one of my friend's mother was an archeologist who worked there. The amount of wonder the climate, the rock and the culture was able to keep is insane. They are probably some of my favorite antique art of all time, I love the copper bulls and goats.
This is by far one of the coolest countries you guys have covered! Such a rich historical and cultural background, kind of like that country type you have where you advise people to go here before the tourism industry flocks in 👍🏻
Been waiting for so long!!!!
Thank you! 👏🏻
All of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, northern Afghanistan, Kashmir, Tibet, and Xinjiang) is absolutely the most beautiful region of the world! The Pamir Mountains are one of those places I would want to grow old in because they look so bloody gorgeous!
What's left? Praise the whole world too
You missed some of central Asia, Mongolia, Qinghai, Gansu, Southern RUSSIA, northern Iran etc
who said to you that tibet is in central asia
Kashmir ? Central Asia ? WTF ?
@@edwardsnowden8821 You're right, some of those I either didn't think of or I just didn't want to make the list too awfully long. Professional geography majors still debate a lot of stuff so nothing's set in stone, but I personally don't think the eastern halves of both Mongolia and Gansu are Central Asian, but are East Asian.
Thank you for such an informative video about our country Tajikistan! It means a lot!
I had the joy of visiting Tajikistan and driving along the Pamir. This video really brings me back. What a gorgeous country

I'm very happy that someone expanded this country for us here 'cause only arts and crafts is only our lesson here about Tajikistan....

Geography had never been such fun before . Love you guys and your content keep going !
Another great episode Barbs. It’s interesting to me to learn more about central Asia. It’s a region that is often overlooked. I also just really appreciate learning more about the world we live in. I really enjoy it and it will only help everyone to learn more about everyone else. I always look forward to new episodes and this channel is the one I follow the most faithfully when it comes to RUclips. I’ve seen every episode and I look forward for more to come. Also they looking forward to the United States episode. Being my home country I’m very interested to see how it turns out.
Woud love to have some discussions with you. I am from Tajikistan
I always love it when you cover these unknown ass countries. Always fun to learn something new

I've gotta say I love the visualization of the geography at the beginning of your videos. It is very well presented and flows very naturally.

TOJIKISTON BA PESH !!!
Tajik ba pesh
Tajikistan accidentally has a diaspora thanks to border meddling and now Tajiks live in every country that was Khoresan. Which technically isn't a diaspora Tajiks just live in their homeland. And are basically Persian and or Persianized Iranic locals like Sogdians, Bactrians, and various diverse whole variety of others of Iranic origin.
@ابوالفضل مازنی I study Easterling cultures. From Iraq to Pakistan and every land in between.
@SOS D I try to get my information from native peoples themselves, and then sometimes surrounding people but not as much because nationalistic antagonism tendencies though not always. And apply this to everyone. Then rarely do I get my information from distant unrelated people unless reliable.
As a rule if you didn't get your information from a native or the border people than don't relay information unless conformation or use their books.
Thank you!
I am a Tajik from Tajikistan and I don't like word "Persian". We are TAJIKs, not Persianized people. We are different.
@@Образованиесила We are part of the Persian culture. I am also Tajik from Tajikistan.

Well, you can say the food section for the Uzbekistan episode is pretty much done) And yeah, can't wait for the Uzbekistan episode!
I showed this video to my Tajik-Pakistani family and when we got to the part of elders having gold teeth at 21:39, all of us bursted into laughter as that is true for my elderly Tajik father. I had been waiting a long time for this video and so, thank you very much for the efforts of all involved. I truly appreciate it.
I appreciate you guys so much to not ignore the real problems of a country, love you guys, i buy i shirt 😁
I love the dynamics of the recent episodes. It's incredible how big the progress is, especially when you compare that the first episodes. Fantastic achievement.

Welcome to sunny Tajikistan, we love guests and are always welcome 🇹🇯🇹🇯🇹🇯
I actually have a few filler week topics I would like to please suggest:
1. Antarctica and Arctic (I know there isn't much, but it would be interesting to see what is there). For Antarctica, I would actually focus on the small cultural aspects of the researchers that sort of exist there, such as the case of the Antarctic "accent" that developed at one base, the 11 people born in Antarctica from Argentica and Chile, the two civilziation settlements on King George Island, and the inhabited sub-Antarctic islands as well. Similar idea of clustering whatever information there is for the Arctic region.
2. The Knights of Malta explained (for the territories, mention the extraterritorial buildings where their HQ's are in Rome, the castle on the island of Malta itself they are renting, and how the personal land propoerties of the members are also kind of natioanl territory for them as well.)
Much love to our Persian brothers and sisters in Central Asia (Tajiks) from Persia (Iran).🇮🇷♥🇹🇯
