- The verb aller in French can be followed by different prepositions (à, à la, au, aux, en, chez). The preposition depend on what come right after, if it's a city, a masculine or feminine noun, a country, etc.
Here is how to choose them:
Aller à la + feminine noun
Aller au + masculine noun
Aller aux + plural nouns
Aller en + feminine country
Aller au + masculine country
Aller aux + plural country
Aller à + city
Aller chez + person, business, store
