Interesting comparison, beautifully filmed as well! For me the versatility of the 360 camera seems like the winner. BTW, the explanation of the kickboard setup was almost as interesting as the comparison.
I'd be curious to see how your setup works in rougher waters with small to medium swells and disorganized wave action...oh and wind (I do open water swims in Puget Sound). Thanks for the video. Exactly what I was looking for.
Wow, what a nice place to swim in Puget Sound 🤩. I think a current GoPro is really good in stabilization and has the best image quality. But I guess a 360cam would better in rougher conditions. With a slightly higher mount you could avoid water drops. I’m still dreaming of an autonomous drone following you 😂
How does this video only have 500+ views? It's incredibly well done from many aspects. Super cool information. Unfortunately these techniques probably wouldn't work for a triathlon race, but they certainly would work for filming outside of the race and simply incorporating that footage back into the race via retroactive recording. At least people would have some swim footage to see although it wouldn't be during the race, but it would at least show people the open water swim scenario for that particular race, which would be useful. Either way, your video is extremely well done. Great job 👍
Thanks very much. Yeah, during a race would be difficult. Maybe a small 360cam on the buoy and extract the most usable video prys . A 360 cam can handle severe shakes at best I think. Yeah, just 500 views because My channel is mainly about animation. But open water swimming is a passion project to me. I consider to create a new channel about it 🤔
@@MichaelPonch Thanks for the advice! I think it's just the algorithm. I find it's not very good at identifying authentic quality content. It seems to be lured by click bait tactics and what not. Just know, this video is 1M view worthy and easily would hit that mark if the algorithm was perhaps different imo.
Michael I want to thank you very much Your video inspired me. I bought the latest GoPro and set the camera on a bodyboard. It came out spectacular at the lake. Again... thanks
i had been looking for a way to film my swimming as well.. and clearly you win! the other videos of ppl attaching to boey was too inconsistent! so: 2 questions: how do you not get the rope tangled up in you legs?? 2. how do you film yourself when you run? :p
Thank you 😊. 1. I fixed the strap to my ankle. I tried to avoid to move my legs because of water splash and to keep the cam steady. But I guess with newest GoPro you can also use your legs while swimming. 2 I haven’t tried it yet, but a 360cam with a long stick is the solution 😊
Your video is unique bro ... Waw !!! could you please tell me the name of the first music track of your video ... precisely when you have jumped in the water at the begging and the end just wanna listen to it please ❤
Exactly the video I had been looking for! Do you have to put the camera right at the edge of the board ? Would you get an adequate result with it further back? I have a 21in bodyboard and thinking it might be more stable.
Thank you very much :) I put my camera just so the board isn't within the cams view, that's why putting it further back wasn't an option for me. I'm not sure if "the bigger the more stable" but for sure "the heavier the more stable"
I am trying to build the same rig to use with my GoPro 9 and Insta 360 X3, I couldn't find the parts that you used. Could you please provide some links for those connection parts? Thanks!
Great video Michael 👏 sub from an old but full motivated german RUclips filmmaker 😂 great channel 👌 maybe I will upgrade to after effects 😉 beste filmerische Grüße aus Oberfranken
Your saber plugin vedio got 51k, please make trending topics like no way home swinging effect, your channel is underrated 😭,but try to do trending stff and promote yourself more 😀
Thank you very much for your encouraging words and for your advice 😊. I know I should do more trending stuff. But because my busy job my video would be totally out of date the time I publish it 😂😂😂. So I thought as long as I can’t make a living with youtube I create more timeless stuff. But thanks anyway 😎
Yeah, Spectacles is quite decent. I used it 3 years ago when swimming in the Zurich river: ruclips.net/video/g0cdeEbW6JQ/видео.html But for this kind of swimming it’s rather not suitable as you can’t wear goggles simultaneously 😊
I would never have guessed how you filmed yourself swimming. That was a simple and effective solution.
Thanks, man 😎

Thank you, I experimented with my swim buoy before but it was too unstable 😊. Yeah, but I would wait for an Insta360 one x3 or Gopro Max 2.
Thanks very much for this. I have set this up myself and am swimming in the ocean using this technique with great affect.
Much apprecated 🙂
The best as always, keep it up bro… you deserved more views and subscribers ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great info! Thank you for your hard work putting this together.

Thank you 😊. Yeah, just where it’s officially nature protected 🌲

Be my mentor, but on a serious note this video is fire. I'm considering buying a 360 cam

is that königsee?
Not quite 😊. Königsee is in one of my other videos. This is actually the Langbürgner See. Secret Tip 🤫. Have you already been to Königsee?
I came here from reddit. now where is the tutorial for that daft punk animation?
Hi 👋. Tutorial is in the works. I guess I can publish it next week. Thanks for your patience 😊
Você prendeu a prancha nos pés?
Right 👍🏻. And I tried to avoid padding with my feet.

Is the board attached to your hips or legs?
Hi 👋. Here’s a link to a tutorial on how to install the mount ruclips.net/video/0DQ5GtRY6RY/видео.html. I attached it to my right ankle 😊
damn that's beautiful
Thank you 😊
snapchat spectacles is the best

I don't think you understand the power of a 360 camera, you don't need that body board just put the 360 on a waist mount
Video is from 2 years ago n00b.
my comment was just as relevant 2 years ago, 360 cameras aren't new@@EatMyPropwash
