Great video ma'am watched two of ur video on swimming filming. Both r awesome compared to othr vids on youtube. This inspiring. Keep up d gud work. Ove n respect frm India.
Thanks for the inspiration! I like the idea of using a bottle as a keel and my tow bag has a handle I can clamp my camera on. Looking forward to try it out in the Sea of Japan tomorrow🐳
This is really clever and reasonably simple. I love this kind of homemade solution. Should I ever start filming, I'll think of it. Thank you for sharing.
It’s a super useful mount that gives good footage whether you wear it on your chest for an activity like walking, biking, helming a boat or attach it to your towfloat. Glad you enjoyed it.
Really interesting, I have never attempted to film myself swimming but often think it might be nice to have some footage to look back on especially on days when I can’t get in the water!
Hi Rachel! I’d never have thought of using a bottle as a keel or of using the chesty strap. What great ideas! I have a GoPro and have used it in my hand to film me swimming but have often wondered how you fix your camera when it’s filming behind you! I’ll definitely give this a go as I do have a chest strap. Thank you 🙏
Hi Katy, I'm so pleased to hear you're going to give it a go. I do like to film with the cam in my hand too as you have better control over what you're shooting. But sometimes it's nice to be hands free, and the different angle works nicely. Tag me when you post some footage, I'm @everydayathleterach on Instagram and Facebook 🏊😀
@@EverydayAthleteRach I have! I bought a GoPro 10 and the footage is just stunning - makes me stay in the water longer too. Your videos are top notch, so helpful and invaluable tips!
Hey Rachel, I love this!! I get asked quite frequently to post pics or videos on IG and YT, but I am not a tech savvy person. That said, I do love to see how you and other experienced folks make videos. It’s a steep learning curve for me. This is a brilliant little “how to” video. I also have to say that the stream that you’re swimming in looks lovely and refreshing. Thanks for sharing your trade secrets with us here today. 🌎💦Ⓜ️ary🏊♀️
Hey Mary you don’t need to be tech savvy to work a gopro. People would love to see the environment you live in. It’s a bit of problem solving and working out where it balances best. Hope the lake is warming a little for you. Do you still have ice? 🥶❄️🧊🏊♀️😀
Thank you, was interesting! (though I don't intend to film). Interestingly enough here in one of the swimming groups on FB a guy wrote that he constructed a drone- boat that follows him😯. Unfortunately he didn't answer back about technical details... I think this is a typical German over- Engineering 😂
I had thought about making a raft for the camera, but I'd still have to tow it. I just thought I'd use what I have and make it work harder! I have a drone too, but the noise of the propellors bugs me!
Hi Rach . Thank you for the great tips. If you don’t use a water bottle as a keel in the tow float does it mean the camera is a lot lower so you don’t get as much view from the water when filming? 😊

Thank you so much for watching 🙂 Great to hear from you!
Interesting I like it. I have a donut style float and a head mount. I'll figure out a way to affix it and give it a try. Cheers.
Hope you found a way to make it work.
Fantastic advice, I'll try it out this week! Thank you!! 😊
Hope it works for you 🏊♀️😀

Good luck with it. Whereabouts are you swimming in Japan?
Great info! Thank you for your hard work putting this together. Crystal-clear instructions and demonstrations.
Glad it was helpful! Merry Christmas!
Great idea . Thank you

You're so welcome Said! I'm pleased it was helpful 🏊😀
Just what I was looking for!!
Thanks! I’ve been racking my brains on how to do just this.
Glad it was helpful! I made another one about how to film swimming here too: ruclips.net/video/gZSqw3AiW2g/видео.html
@@EverydayAthleteRach Thanks!
Thanks, really a great idea
It works a treat too, bit of adjustment at the start of each swim, but then you're away! 🏊😀

It really is nice to take a look back at swims and locations, as you say, especially when you're missing your watery fix 🏊😀
Thank you, I will try
That's brilliant thanks

Great I’m hoping farther Christmas brings an action camera so I can have a play 🎉
That would be cool! Fingers crossed!
Maybe 2:40 microfon 😅 buying for beter speak one 😂 filming 🎉
I'm usually really mindful about wind direction, but sometimes the weather wins. Hope you found the video helpful otherwise :)

The camera flips the towfloat upside down.
