@@Phil-ui4tm seems like our franchises have routinely brought the best out of each other. Those mid 90s Cowboys and Niners teams were so good the league had to change the rules so other teams could compete.
@@MegaSammy70, I remember watching that game as a kid,. The dynasty torch was passed that day. Then it appeared Cowboys took it back in ‘92. Though SF wasn’t done yet.
@@timothybrown5999, Jerry Jones was, ironically, one of the biggest proponents of the salary cap. He was always more interested in making money than winning championships. But I think the NFL is the only of the big 3 sports leagues where the small markets can compete consistently.
I firmly believe the same thing you do. First coach to win a National Championship (Was robbed of one & should have won 4 total) & two Super Bowls (three if you count the Proxy win he had against the Steelers.)
So glad he mentioned Zach Thomas. It's a damn tragedy he isn't already in the HOF. He was a better and more impactful LB than Brian Urlacher and no one will convince me otherwise.
Zack "No Neck" Thomas. Dude was a tackling machine. One of the best Mikes I've ever seen. Jessie Tuggle is my favorite. Of course, I'm an Atlanta native. He's another, who should be a HOFer.
You can still see why he was such a great great great coach and why after he retired, people by the likes of bill belichek went to him in florida to seek out his knowledge , so yes when you think about what the patriots did even , jimmy had a little part in that , I remember a interview he gave b4 they won there first superbowl when asked do you think if u stay healthy you’ll make the playoffs next season and jimmy told him , I don’t think , WE WILL be in the playoffs next season , I’m not doing the interview justice , but This is why troy has always been heartbroken about jimmy and Jerry’s egos, especially Jerry’s , in my opinion, because Troy knows -as do I , if those 2 stayed together, 94 nfc championship would of been won , not lost , they would of 3 peated, and they won the superbowl in 95 so that would of been AT LEAST 4 in a row , just like when leon BIG CAT lett, held the ball out in super bowl 27 , if he would of protected the ball , the cowboys would have the record for most points scored in a superbowl , that team I don’t care , was the best team of all time not by far , but was from top to bottom the deepest best team ever assembled , it hard to be upset about 52 points scored in a superbowl but that record would of been sweet and it really should of happened, jimmy was a great coach
Jimmy: And in closing....the cowboys are struggling to get to a super bowl in this century. But at least they get all the prime time games and attention. So if they never go to a super bowl again they’ll at least have perpetual hype. Hehe.
What an awesome speech! This man really loves coaching! Used some of his speech time to give us all a good coaching we sorely need in life. My childhood hero. I've witness the dynasty with my very own 2 eyes at the ol Texas Stadium. Great memories with my family and with my pops. About DAMN TIME he is in the HoF! Long over due!
The worst thing to happen to the Cowboys was winning Super Bowl XXVIII. Follow me on this. At half-time of that Super Bowl, the Bills were ahead 13-6,Thurman Thomas(he had over 80 total yards, rushing & receivingat that point)doesn't fumble on the 3rd play of the second half that was returned for a momentum changing td,the Bills continue to wear down the Cowboys defense, score more points and win that Super Bowl. Jimmy and Jerry's egos go down, they promise to never let that happen again. Draft more quality players and they win 3 more Super Bowls.
I have no doubts whatsoever that had Jimmy stayed, Dallas would have won four Super Bowls in a row and as many as five or six over the decade of the 90s. With Jimmy, the Cowboys exuded confidence. They had great talent at the skill positions, one of the greatest offensive lines in history, a deep and talented defensive line, four LBers who ran 4.5-4.6 and speed across the secondary as well, four assistant coaches who went on to become head coaches, and a psychological edge, especially against their foremost rival, San Francisco. And Jimmy could find talent in the middle and lower rounds, and he was able to coach up any player. The wheels came off the cart in ‘94 and then sheer talent and grit beat Pittsburgh in ‘95, but the ‘95 team was nowhere near the ‘92/‘93 level. Jimmy’s two SB champions could’ve lined up against anyone - the 70s Steelers, ‘89 49ers, ‘85 Bears, ‘91 Redskins, and certainly any NE team. Had he stayed, even with free agency, the Cowboys would have made history. My, what only could have been.

Always
I hate the Cowboys with a burning passion. But sometimes you can recognize when someone deserves something beyond hate. You deserve this partner. Congrats
Don't worry. We HATE you right back
@Dead Below Zer0
Much respect ✊
Always hated Jimmy because without him, my Niners probably have another 2 SB rings. This guy did an amazing job bringing that franchise back to life. He earned this.
Well Bill Walsh cost the Cowboys a SB ring in 81. And the 49ers got their revenge on Jimmy’s players in ‘94.
@@Phil-ui4tm Joe Montana to Dwight Clark=The catch
This is just my opinion.....but I believe he is hands down the best coach in football ever
I firmly believe the same thing you do. First coach to win a National Championship (Was robbed of one & should have won 4 total) & two Super Bowls (three if you count the Proxy win he had against the Steelers.)
Zach Thomas NEEDS to be in hall of fame
Another big day for the 🙌 family today. Big congratulations to Coach Johnson and Edgerin James!
The Canes fam running thr hall of fame, still have Andre, Hester, Reggie, and big Vince on deck.
I know my dad is watching from above screaming his head off in excitement. Been a long time coming. Congrats coach.
Jimmy Johnson could spot TALENT like no other. How bout them Cowboys.
The curse has been broken. The cowboys will win a superbowl this season.
this year lol
😂😂🤣 you know what I mean. This season.
Best to ever do it! I Believe coach. Thanks for the speech. Priceless
"My two sons played football, I never saw em play a down..." That's pretty brutal.
A True Cowboy Legend Long Overdue But I’m Glad They Did It Before It Was To Late🥺
Congrats Jimmy💙
HOPEFULLY THAT BROKE THE CURSE!!! Thank you Jimmy GO COWBOYS
Congratulations, Coach Johnson
You can clearly see the difference from Jimmy and Jason Garrett huge! Gap in drive we need to go back to rough, passionate football
I was waiting for is speech and I'm glad is finally in the H of F good for him a great Coach , congratulations Jimmy
Hehe.
We love you Jimmy.
He forgot to mention Special Teams coach Joe Avezzano, although he was on the Big Screen along side Jimmy! 5:28
One of the great coaches.. love the game
That hair, is just priceless. Congrats, Coach well deserved and long overdue
Jimmy and pat Riley can be 100 and their hair will be tight
Colts fan here, So happy for JJ, so long overdue
Jerry forever will be haunted by him knowing he will never win a super bowl ever
He did. He has three
Believer! I love that Coach!
If Jimmy stuck around the Cowboys would have won 5 Super Bowls.
Draft more quality players and they win 3 more Super Bowls.
awesome speech, not just about football but about life QTL (quality time left) is awesome words of wisdom
Jimmy Johnson you came from HS, College, & NFL. You’re truly one of kind. I wish I could’ve played for you. Congratulations on HOF.. well earned
Thus far, Jimmy has received the most accurate bust I've ever seen the HOF produce.
I thought the same thing
