    Congratulations! I always know when I'm stuck or need to remember how to do something there's a Planet June tutorial.
    I'd love to hear/see more about how you organize your yarn/workspace/tools. My room is such a mess and I need inspiration!

      Ooh, interesting idea, Dawn - thank you! I hadn't thought to make videos like that. Organising all my stash and tools is a constant work in progress for me - I haven't found the perfect solution yet! - but I do have some good ideas I can share in future 👍

    Congratulations!! 🎉🎉 I'm so glad I found you earlier this year (when I started crocheting!) - all your tutorials have been super helpful. You're a phenomenal teacher!!
    That linked crochet technique you used for the button looks really cool - I'd love to see a tutorial about it (how to do it and also good uses for it)!

      Thank you, Kimberly! Yes, I think I'll have to design a new pattern using linked stitches and then I can make a demo video for the stitch to accompany the pattern. Hmm, thinking cap on...

    Congratulations on making 100k. I never knew you were left handed. I have many of your lovely patterns and you always explain things so clearly, and your patterns are so well written . Once again congratulations and have a lovely Christmas and more lovely patterns to come in the new year. I would love to see a hyena, African painted dog and a lynx, just to name a few, I could go on and on. Kindest regards

    That's really fitting, June. You deserve this button award. I've referred several friends to your channel for help. I've been crocheting a long time, but I still find the need to search for help. You've asked what kind of tutorial would be helpful. I am currently using a pattern in which the designer mentions that she uses the "under, under" technique. I've looked at some tutorials on this and I don't quite understand the differences between over-over, under-over, or under-under. I've been able to do the under-over single crochet, but more info would be helpful as to why or when I would use these over methods. Thanks for all your help.

    • @planetjune
      @planetjune  Год назад

      Thank you so much, Pam. I have a tutorial on yarn over vs yarn under (www.planetjune.com/yarnover), but I don't think I can be of much help in *why* you'd want to use yarn under. I've heard it keeps stitches more aligned in tapestry crochet, but other than that, I don't know, other than personal preference. I like to always crochet the 'standard' way, to keep my patterns consistent for my customers!

    I love your videos and patterns. You have a gift for teaching crochet. I learned to make several amigurumi creations based on your website, patterns, and videos. I would enjoy seeing how you organize your yarn including finding an end and winding a ball of yarn. I think beginners would benefit from learning the basics from you like chain, single crochet, and speciality stitches. Your clear, concise videos are a great way to learn. Thanks

    Congratulations, June! It is truly very well deserved. And it was very nice to hear you again - and cool to see you and your studio live. It was interesting seeing new stitches - even though the linked stitches are in your book I never noticed them before. The idea with the crocheted button was just perfect. Congrats again :)

      Thank you! Yes, my Solid Stripes Bag design is made with linked stitches, but there are so many patterns and techniques in the book that I'm not surprised you didn't notice! It's a shame the play button is a bit too much of a niche item for me to make a pattern for it - I'll have to try to think of something similar but with more universal appeal...

    • @planetjune
      @planetjune  2 года назад +1

      Thank you so much, Devonne! I don't generally recommend you join two closed pieces together, as it’ll never give a smooth join like adding an open-ended piece to a closed piece, so I try to avoid doing it in my patterns. But I do have some tips to make a better closed-to-closed join - I'll add that to my list of ideas for future videos :)

    Hi June
    Just wanted to say Congratulations on your achievement 🎉💐 Well done you deserve it and more! I loved your little play button ▶️ I also hope they sent you the real one 😂
    I would love to see videos for joining Amigurumi pieces together; how to do what you did with that play button (my brain didn’t grasp what you were doing as I’m a righty) maybe if I slow it down maybe I can catch watch you did. It looks very intricate. Could you please do a video on how to start a punch needle? How about joining yarns together?
    How do you avoid tangled yarn whilst crocheting a project that uses different colours of yarn?
    My apologies I will stop now otherwise the list will be long.
    Take care, stay safe and well. God bless 🙏🏽🧶💗😊

    Have you done any Tunisian crochet? I'm interested in picking it up.
    Also joining two closed pieces for an amigurumi.

    • @planetjune
      @planetjune  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! I have done some Tunisian crochet - I only have one pattern that uses it though (my Tunisian Stripe Purse www.planetjune.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=148) so no video tutorials yet, but I'll definitely add it to my list of ideas.
      As for joining two closed amigurumi pieces, I usually try to avoid that technique in my designs because it's hard to get a good finish that way (as you've probably noticed!) But yes, that's definitely something I could do a video on in future - thank you!

    • @amara560
      @amara560 2 года назад

      @@planetjune Thank you so much for considering my ideas! And yes indeed it is hard to get a good finish when joining two closed pieces. I always use your seamless joining method for one open piece but joining two closed pieces feels like fumbling around 😂

    I’d love to how you organize your stash, even if you haven’t found the perfect solution yet. I love the thread cards and would use them, but how do you catalog them?

    • @planetjune
      @planetjune  2 месяца назад

      Mine is not an instagram-worthy solution, but it works! My stash is in plastic drawers, split by yarn type and organized (roughly!) in colour order, so they're in the same order - or close enough - as they are in the swatch box. You can see the drawers in my blog post about making the swatch box: www.planetjune.com/blog/yarn-colour-swatch-box/
      It's pretty easy to find the yarn I need. I have 1-4 labelled drawers for each yarn line. As the drawer fronts are clear, when I have multiple drawers containing the same yarn, I can see which is the red-orange-yellow drawer or the green-blue-purple drawer (or whatever) before I open them. So I make my colour choices from the swatch box and then I can lay my hands on the right yarn in seconds!

      Hi Sharon, there are instructions in the starfish pattern for attaching flat applique starfish to a blanket, and the donationware blanket pdf has suggestions for attaching 3D turtles to the blanket (you can also use those methods for the starfish if you made the 3D starfish instead of the applique ones!)
