    Thanks for the tutorial! One suggestion: if you only have one skein of yarn, make the ear straps first so you don’t need to cut your yarn.

    Hello honey,
    Very cute design, thank you! I didn't alternate the increases, I just added them to the top of every row. I also made a slip stitch border around the whole mask and when I got to the front of the mask, I did a slip stitch decrease on each side if the nose to make the mask fit tighter against the cheeks . I love your pattern and of all the mask patterns shown on RUclips, I really liked yours the best!! I'm on my third mask after finding your mask tutorial last night!! Stay safe and God bless!!😘💖🙏

    Just made my first mask, thanks for sharing your pattern! A helpful tip to anyone else making one, it may be easier to start at step 2 ( 7:54 ) before you begin. That way you wont have to find the other end of your yarn like I did lol.

    • @ParkerhouseD
      @ParkerhouseD 4 года назад +2

      JazziJazz Daniel I agree that’s what I did the second time. Also I tied the ear loop together before I sewed it in so that way I can hide the ends inside the mask itself.

    • @alyssabenedetti7458
      @alyssabenedetti7458 4 года назад +1

      I did the same thing, make the ear loops first so you don't have to worry about finding another piece of yarn. Hiding the ends is a good idea too. I ended up making the chains longer so more of the loop would be crocheted instead of a single strand.
      Been wondering if possible to make the mask 2 different colors? Like an accent color for the ear loops and border? Or does the border need to be the sane strand as the rest of the mask so it can pull in?

    Very lovely. Well thought out. I have made several of a different type, but this looks great. My husband who is working as a grocery clerk wants ties instead of ear loops, so I shall extend the chains to accommodate this. FYI if you use a hair tie to bring the ties together instead of tying, you can loosen or tighten as needed.

      The ignorance of these comments are unreal. Stop listening to the media. A face covering is better than nothing and not everyone can get N95 mask. As long as you put two or 3 layers of fabric and are using good hygiene you will be okay, but nothing is 100% guaranteed.

    I really wish you had started out with the adjustable parts and then moved onto the mask proper. I've had to cut my yarn to make the adjustables and now I'm forced to make a knot where there need not have been one or use a different yarn altogether, neither of which I particularly want to do. I suppose I now have the benefit of hindsight after this, though, so that if I end up making these for other people, I will know in what order to do things so as to not be faced with this scenario again.
    Other than that, super easy and relatively quick pattern. Thanks for giving me the know-how to do this. All things considered, that's what is the most important thing as this has really made it possible for me to do my part during the global health crisis. I just found out a couple of days ago that city counselors where I live voted in favour of a face mask bylaw for transit and pretty much all public buildings, among other places, so the timing could not be more apt, either. lol Thanks again.

    Hi - this is my first time watching your channel and really appreciate your tutorial. I am going to make one. Was wondering if there is anyway you could show how to add a pocket of sorts so I can add filters I bought. Sewing is much more intimidating and I know how to crochet so I feel confident I can make this one:) thanks again.

    What a great tutorial and SUCH a nice, simple design for a mask! I love it - and I love that I can line it with fabric too. I was wondering what brand of yarn you used in the tutorial because it looks quite smooth and almost appears to have a bit of stretch? I know you said it’s DK, but is it all like that? I am just a beginner so I don’t know very much about the different types. I would imagine cotton yarn might go too baggy? Thank you for this great idea. It would seem we can never have enough masks these days!

    If I'm using a cotton medium yarn, and an H hook, will that affect the number of chains i would have for each row?

    I love this pattern! I’ve been waiting for a face mask video from one of my favorite channels! I was just wondering how you wear the mask with the adjustable straps? Like how do you attach them behind your ears? I hope you and your family are doing well!

      I’m sorry, I should have included that in the vid 😬 So I just tied the strings first while I’m not wearing it then I try on the mask & adjust it if it’s too loose or too tight. The strings go behind the ears & I used a bobby-pin on both sides to hide the strings. But it looks fine even without hiding them. Does that help?
      & thank you! We are in good health 💕 I hope the same for you & yours.

    As long as she adds a filter pocket I believe this mask would be okay. I am researching this for those who are asthmatic and cannot breathe through the other masks like my sister. The only thing I can say about this video though is for those who are beginners in crocheting you really shouldn't just skip right onto the completed rows to the next steps because they may get lost. I will say also that if there is no liner in a crochet mask there is no reason to make it. I always have my afghan on me and when I sneeze I usually will pull my afghan up around my face and I can feel it come right through it. You also need a wire in your masks. No point in making a mask if it is going to slip down off your nose. ;-) .... Great pattern though.

    When you finish the first row, do you chain 1 before you turn or after you turn to start row 2?

    People need to see actually what your doing. The camera is to far away for anybody to see what your doing. Like were you putting they crochet needle at.

    Hi
    Ok I get the whole mask making part but not sure about the ties and how u finish off those yarn strings and how u actually put it on then ?
    Thanks for the vid 😁

      Amanda Love Santos ok I was taking a better look at ur beginning of vid of u wearing it and trying to see how it goes.. in the pics it shows the strings up and below going around the ears.. like looks wrapped around ears but I just can’t figure this out lol 😂 maybe my brain is just not working lol with all this social distancing lol.
      The strings at end of vid don’t look long enough to tie behind ur head so just not sure.
      Maybe actually is there a way I could still get this adjustable pull like u did here but without using the ends .. like some how snipping the ends off after crocheting around that chain to adjust the mask and adding either elastic or another type of tie version? U know what I mean? Lol

    • @AmandaLoveSantos
      @AmandaLoveSantos 4 года назад +1

      @@KrissD. yes so the way I did it, it's tied around the ears but you can leave longer ends to tie around the head if you'd like! I also thought of elastic and honestly that would probably be the best choice. But I wanted to make something using yarn since it's more accessible for everyone.

      Amanda Love Santos ok great 👍 so I’m making ur mask 😷 now but think I’m gonna be adding an adjustable elastic with pony beads pull system type that goes around ears 👂 😋 I hope works lol 😂 I’m also adding the lining and a nose wire 😋
