    is it possible if flyscreen/windshield for vespa sprint is attached/instal to vespa s (square headlight) ?

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Год назад

      Won’t look right since the size of the headlight is different and not sure if the windscreen will screw into the different bike. Best bet is to get a windscreen specific to the S.

    Great video. Thank you! How come it can handle 705Lbs but cannot have 2 people on it? How slow would it go with 2 people? The 2 of us are a total of 300Lbs

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  2 года назад +2

      Hi! Not having a passenger on a 50cc scooter is just a state law we have here and likely in many other states. The weight the scooter can handle is based on it’s structural integrity not on how powerful the engine is. Expect it to be in mid 20mph range generally and take longer to achieve top speed.

    • @tdgdbs1
      @tdgdbs1 2 года назад

      Don't waste your money; this thing is too heavy for 50cc. It is a nuisance or outright dangerous. 150cc for intown use, 250cc plus if you want to take any scooter on the highway.

  • @rccarslover7143
    @rccarslover7143 2 года назад +1

    Hi! The black "button" near the ignition what is for?

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  2 года назад +1

      On the 150cc models it’s for an electric seat opener. On the 50cc models it’s just a piece of black plastic that does nothing. On a 50cc you open the seat with the key instead.

    Hello , Thanks for your video. Please let me know if I can make a vespa spring 50cc 2021 trimmer , I live in Sweden and I like to know what I need to buy to make Trimmer my moped,
    Best regards

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Martin. I don’t understand what trimmer means. Slimming down the scooter or dropping weight? Not sure there is a way to do that other than changing the heavy exhaust to something aftermarket.

  • @SuperQueenV.

    I went today to see this scooter and when I sat in it I was tip toeing:/
    I forgot to ask if there's a kit to lower the seating or something.
    Is there?

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  2 года назад +1

      On the 50cc there’s not a lowering kit. The shock mounts to the engine differently than the 150. You could take the seat to an upholsterer to shave some foam down. Tip toes can be OK, or a single foot down OK, if the weight of the scooter is manageable. If the scooter is too heavy then the less contact with the ground is really noticeable.

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  2 года назад +1

      Sorry! I didn’t check which video was commented on so my last comment about removing rings from the transmission is wrong. Does not apply to the Sprint or Primavera 50. Only to the Buddy 50. There is no way, outside of replacing a bunch of parts with aftermarket Malossi products, to make the 50cc Vespas faster. They are what they are.

  • @SuperQueenV.
    @SuperQueenV. 2 года назад

    This might be a dumb question but if you just turn the ignition key to turn off the scooter would that not be ok? Or is that also ok to do?

    What’s the compression ratio in the 50cc engine? Since it requires premium, I wonder if it has high compression. The Vespa website doesn’t state it on the tech specs.
    Also, does the 50cc have a charcoal canister/evap control like the 150? I noticed the 150 scooters have an obvious charcoal can at the top of the engine bay which causes a lump in the storage bin. The 50 does not. Maybe it’s hidden? Would be cool if it didn’t have it at all.

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  2 года назад +1

      Would have to check the service manual for the compression ratio. I’ll try to remember to do so on Tuesday. Definitely a high compression engine as is almost every scooter. 50cc doesn’t have the charcoal canister. 150 does. Thanks for watching.
