you know, a triple twist is incredibly hard. the fact that she landed that was great. maybe it was a bit sloppy according to gymnastics but i want to take the time and give her props for her whole routine
I think Nast chose the right time for a comeback. Sure its really close to London but alot of the other girls who announced a comeback a year or 2 ago are now stuck with injuries. I believe she can do it.
@xoxPatriots83ily Just so you know. Nastia held a position as the Athlete Representative for FIG. So she was supposed to keep as neutral as possible. Which kept her from competing. She still trained through.
Nastia has said multiple times that she achieved all her goals and dreams in the sport, so why would she need to train for 2012? It's not like she can top AA gold.
@xoxPatriots83ily nastia is 22 years old . you can only put your body through all the things gymnastics has you doing for so long . if she chooses not to come back it is her decision , people grow out of things . every great gymnast has to retire eventually .
@Tumble4Life123 Shawn took a break. Training for the Olympics is really hard emotionally and sometimes you just need a break after. I think at some point she also had surgery, possibly on her knee? Look up all the facts before making a judgement to not like someone.
@xoxPatriots83ily Hmm well you see Nastia's coming back. The thing about Shawn is she said in interviews that after the Olympics she said she wouldnt come back. But when she injured herself she wanted to. At least Nastia didn't say no. At least she gave it time to make a decision. Shawn just wanted to get out.
@xoxPatriots83ily Nastia's older and she would be competing at the Olympics at 22, and it's really hard for older gymnasts. Besides don't forget Nastia is the one that actually won the olympics.
@Tumble4Life123 Um actaully Shawn is training for the Olympics. Nastia's the one who gave up on the sport. Sure she did beam at the 2009 nationals, other than that nothing. Nastia's been doing the celebrity thing more than Shawn. Shawn did for a year and a half after the Olympics, but now she's making a full comeback. She's going to be competing and this year's Visa's and not just on one event like Nastia. So which gymnast is the one who gave up? Shawn just took a break at the right time.
@xoxPatriots83ily Nastia is a bit older than Shawn though. There comes a point when you have to relax your training and allow your body to develop naturally. Training so fiercely really prevents your body from developing fully, and can also damge your joints and muscles if you don't slow down as you get older. I think it's rather naive and dismissive to expect an Olympic champion to continue training ferociously for a further four years in a sport where they've already achieved so much.
@FlyingPig1902 If you don't think female gymnastics is a sport then what is a sport to you? These girls work out for hours everyday so what makes you think this isn't a sport?
@catiemarietumbler HA yeah right, whos the Olympic AA Champ, may i ask? Nastia. Who CONTINUED with gymnastics after the Olympics? Nastia. shawns not a gymnast anymore. Nastia was, is, and always will be BETTER.
@Tumble4Life123 i never did like Shawn. she came off as conceited in interviews and like you said its like she did gymnastics for the medals not because she loved the sport i personally thought right after she quit that she was being a sore loser, because even though she got a gold medal, the AA gold medal is like the icing on the cake

that onodi.. omg the best ive seen from her...
Nastia is back! Just wanted to point that out! Love Shawn as well!

When she turned like 16 her face changed so much
STOP I thought so too!!! She looks like a completely different person in 2006, 2007, and 2008!
Nastia has said multiple times that she achieved all her goals and dreams in the sport, so why would she need to train for 2012? It's not like she can top AA gold.
if you stop at 0:31 it's just like "Hands? I don't need them ^^" Her backhandspring looks amazing and very easy :)

Who knew that in 5 years shell be back there for Olympic trials
@hellokellyo i completely agree with you. nastia achieved what she wanted to.
Does anybody know why she had to have surgery?
she had an ankle injury
What did she have surgery on?
@Tumble4Life123 Doesn't she deserve a break after competing in the OLYMPICS?!
Does anyone know what the move is called that she does at 0:54?
I don t know for sure.But I think,for a foot.She had injuries.

"When she's healthy, look out"
You mean like in August the following year?
@xxLOlliPOPLUVERxx Uh Nastia is coming back??
@xoxPatriots83ily

She looks tall.

@Tumble4Life123 Yeah, uh, you may want to revise this comment now.
0:31
it's me or her head looks weird and the part of the front! :S
Shawn is DONE.
@Tumble4Life123
it's funny to read this comment now because shawn is the one who's committed to gymnastics and nastia is nowhere to be seen
@catiemarietumbler HA yeah right, whos the Olympic AA Champ, may i ask? Nastia. Who CONTINUED with gymnastics after the Olympics? Nastia. shawns not a gymnast anymore. Nastia was, is, and always will be BETTER.
