    wow
    Candice Wiggins
    it's very few attractive lady like women in the WNBA, after the championships runs by Cooper and Swoops
    I was a fan , that drifted away due to the rough and rugged looking females that came into the leagues afterwards.
    Stay Str8 and continues speaking out .
    Straight lives matter too.

    The interviewer said that there enough money to go around although the WNBA is loosing money.
    I would like to see how he would react if told they are going to cut the budget of his program to fund a program on the same station that is not generating much rating.

    I respect ultimate Hoops for covering this story this type of treatment happens to a lot of people in many Industries professional and personal relationships even romance friends don't even matter happens everywhere people have really got to get their head on straight on how they should be responding what they should be caring about for real and how they should be looking at the world versus how they do look at the world.... everyone should be about uplifting and becoming the best version of their self vs using their energy to have a problem with people that do.... serious changes are in order

    wow shes speaking on how the women in the wnba took on a manly role. so they were calling Wiggins soft for being a woman in their league. similar to how Skip called Bosh soft and Bosh Spice. They look at Wiggins as Wiggins Spice. This is incredibly scary and disturbing where our world is heading

    Here's the boxscore for Candice's rookie first game..it's not the WNBA's site, as the interviewer noted for some reason they delete old boxscores which is wack..so this site has the shock as tulsa instead of detroit but this is the game -- www.covers.com/pageloader/pageloader.aspx?page=/data/wnba/results/2008/boxscore765441.html

    I really dont get it. Isn't it all economics, the WNBA has no real fans base. The NBA took decades to earn the salaries they earn now. Why should they give it to the women? Why can't they make their own way? If you want to make more money grow your fan base. Lebron James didnt do what he did to get where he is for the WNBA he did it for himself. Women need to change their attitude towards business and earn it.

    • @JAYSPLASHMUSIC
      @JAYSPLASHMUSIC 3 года назад

      their fanbase are a small % of young girls who like sports and the rest LESBIANS lol. But youre right they have no core "fanbase". The 1rst 4 picks only making 50k is laughable. That 35k after tax. Thats a McDonald's manger salary. 14th men on nba teams make that per game damn near. They have very little economic value being that they bring in little to no interest. And they treat them like that. Like they care but dont care like she said. Its a social thing not economic

    Great interview, I was a bit perplexed by the interviewers response to Candice Wiggins saying 'there is not enough money to go around'. Sound like the interviewer position on this matter was that because the NBA own the WNBA, that then they should be equally dispersing the profits accumulated by both sports....
    If that is what he believes, then shame on thee.

    27:00.. When they say there is no money, the mean the WNBA does not generate enough.
    When you say there is enough money to go around, you mean they should take some of the revenue from the men and give it to the women... Thats crap

  • @ransak918
    @ransak918 7 лет назад +5

    Completely disagree with the interviewer that the players should be making more money. I don't think the demand for women's basketball is high enough to justify more than a 60k salary. Outside of (maybe) tennis, are there any female sporting events that you'd pay a hefty price for? And I don't mean a single ticket for one game. I mean a season pass 'hefty price'.
    I'm not looking to belittle their league. Just shining some light on the reality of their situation.

      Kevin Watson smh..... the WNBA has not had a yr where they actually made any PROFIT!!! The WNBA as a business is a failed project... only reason it’s still around is bcuz each WNBA team gets a $12M allowance from its NBA counterpart yearly!!!!! This is facts and this is public record !!!!!!!!!

      @@kobekold Monetary value? The WNBA as a business is at a loss for net gain. That is fact, not opinion. The NBA doesn't give the league 12M a year because they want to do it... the WNBA has no monetary value because the product being sold is inferior, yet acknowledging that truth labels me a sexist pig by WNBA players because I would rather watch an NBA game over WNBA, yet more men watch the WNBA than women.

    The ladies are being compensated much better than the men were in the 25th year of their existence. All of those experiences she went through the men went through and worse! No one cared about basketball. Most of the men had second d jobs or played overseas!! Men still play overseas! Or the D league. Today's WNBA make more money and are advertised too much better than the NBA at the same time I. Their history! Their leagues was started and mainly funded by the NBA! Still funded. I do not feel sorry for Ms. Wiggins at all. Such is life! Even through what you perceive as struggles you live a charmed, fortunate and pampered life!
