I remember a regular season game between the Bulls and Trailblazers in Portland. Early on, Drexler made some great plays. I remember thinking, well, maybe Clyde is closer to Jordan in talent than I thought. Like on cue, all of a sudden Jordan went on a tear. Some of those games made me nervous as a USA fan because many games were actually competitive until the final quarter or so. When the score was tight in those games instead of Michael Jordan it was Charles Barkley's performances that would tip those games in the Americans favor.

@@jaydot4956 let's be clear Isiah is no.2 alltime buddy.
To those young bloods out there, keep dissing all you want about Barkley having no rings, but Barkley in his hey day was a beast in the paint area offensively and defensively.
With that relatively undersized and become a dominant force in the paint area is insane

Show me the ring and less talk.
DJ Kream is there a problem sir?
Min Chu Tong he’s got CTE don’t sweat it.

Here's what I think happened: I think Jordan is playing word games. I think Jordan didn't tell anybody Isaiah CAN'T be on the team. I think he simply let it be known he wouldn't play if he was. Lol
I think the people in charge knew he wouldn't. And that's all they needed. There was no way they were not going to have Jordan on that team. So take no chances ... too bad Isiah ... it's about who you know.
That's about accurate especially in 1992 the blood was still very bad at that point no way Jordan would've mos def not wanted to play with Zeke
Luke I have always thought that, bcuz if he did he knowingly would look bad in the media!
Yes. Plus the freeze out in Jordan’s 1st all star game. Bad blood was deff real

Agree with him on MJ, he just wanted to be the best
And achived Just that
Y'all MJ nuthugger I swear
I love how Charles says Michael HATED Clyde Drexler 😂😂😂
Jake Rich it’s because people were saying Drexler was the West’s Jordan.
Lol As a Chicagoan it was well known. MJ is a beautifully, charismatic, friendly, grudge holding unforgiving complex phenomenal human.
I remember a regular season game between the Bulls and Trailblazers in Portland. Early on, Drexler made some great plays. I remember thinking, well,
maybe Clyde is closer to Jordan in talent than I thought. Like on cue, all of a sudden Jordan went on a tear. One spectacular play after another, culminating with a dunk where he jumped at around the free throw line and soared over what seemed like 4 or 5 players. Greatest dunk in a game I ever saw. Bye bye Clyde. Case closed.
is there anyone dude didn't hate?
Kevin Commins Drexler was maybe even better technically player than Jordan (not better in general)
Or like MJ put it, “ If you are willing to give me three hours a day to watch me play then it’s my duty to give you the best of me and the best performance you will ever see” -you see he understood his job and what what required, he wanted to win but not just win he also wanted to make sure everyone who watched him where like wow I never see that before and that pushed him to be the greatest
Kobe stole that concept and called it the "Mamba Mentality" People think that this was Kobe's mindset coming into the NBA, it wasn't Kobe listen to Jordan and then took his philosophy and named it the Mamba Mentality!
@@vincespell Kobe had that mentality since he was a kid.

ufabbiu I get you. Green doesn’t hold up against Barkley when it comes to statistics. I do think though that he has made a huge impact when it comes to their overall success. Although he may not be the driving force behind their championships, he still played a big role in all of them. With that said, Green is a role player and Barkley is a superstar. The comparison of who is better should stop in my oppinion. They are waaay different players.

Sir Charles was one of the best PF ever, especially at his size.
I remember watching the 92 Olympics thinking to myself wow Barkley is outshining of all these " All Time Greats" with his play in these games. Some of those games made me nervous as a USA fan because many games were actually competitive until the final quarter or so. When the score was tight in those games instead of Michael Jordan it was Charles Barkley's performances that would tip those games in the Americans favor.
Did he say Isaiah Thomas is the best "purr" point guard ever?! lol... Gotta love Chuck

At the time of the Dream Team was being thought about and formed, Isiah was coming off 3 straight Finals trips and 2 Chips. How could he get left off unless it was deliberate???
Daren Holloway Exactly and the sad part is people were taking their basketball issues with him to a personal level that It didn’t have to go to. If there was some concern about maybe he’s playing style they could’ve easily spoke to him about it
Daren Holloway It was deliberate. Magic, Jordan, Bird, and Pippen didn’t want him on it.
Daren Holloway of course it was deliberate man. People still talks about Isiah talent but with all those guys already in, you don’t need IT ... you need is to make them work together in harmonie AS A TEAM! that’s why he didn’t made the team. He (and a lot of others) wants to simplified that to “they left me out because o didn’t shocked his hand” so he can be de victim and claim “i met the criteria I should’ve been there” that’s way easier than say “I had beef with some of them and that’s why they didn’t want to play with me” right?
I’ll hear him say “I met the criteria I should’ve made the team” but what you’ll never hear him say I “I GOT ALONG WITH MOST OF THEM and still got left out” 🤷🏻♂️
Chuck is the realest dude in basketball. Need more people like him on TV.
Chuck’s laugh when Jalen talked about Web going behind his back cracked me up. Good feels
“If I’m being honest, it was the first time I felt like I was not the best player in the world” - Charles Barkley 1993 (after MJ beat the MVP best player Charles Barkley in the NBA finals)
84 Olympic Basketball tryouts. When Barkley gets cut he says "I was the 2nd best player out there by far." They ask well who was the best. Barkley says, " I just saw the best player I've ever seen, Michael Jordan from North Carolina".
Barkley is forgetting about fans reacting to Mike Tyson the same way Jordan and Woods have....Mike Tyson might have been the biggest draw ever!
"Real sick, brawl nights, I perform like Mike
Anyone - Tyson, Jordan, Jackson
Action, pack guns, ridiculous
And I'm, quick to bust, if my ends you touch" - the legend Christopher Wallace
Good point and people always debate MJ/Lebronna which isn’t debatable it’s FOOLERY MJ 👅 the b-ball 🐐 but what is debatable who was more dominant in their prime Michael Jordan or Mike Tyson???
