      Kratos is far from soft lol. We just see him as a father now, as a man with only one thing left and he'll do anything for him.
      Kratos was never made of stone. Kratos sold his soul to save his men, not to save himself , but to save his men who were dieing and he felt he failed, then he waged war on the gods themselves for his family's death! That's a man who feels deeply and loves true, he may not show it to everyone, but even in flashbacks from the original, he was loving and soft to his wife and child, and when they were taken, he broke the very heavins open to avenge them, tool pain and agony to accomplish that goal, and even then was begging for the pain to be taken as it was to much for him to carry, he wish for death because them being gone, blaming himself, and not being cold hearted enough to not care. Kratos has always had a heart.

      @@fernald2201it’s kinda weird that’s what he didn’t like about the Norse saga when he made him a family man. His love for family is why he was so vengeful in the first place and it was because of Dave

      Thing is about Ascension Kratos is that he wasn't all mad or vengeful. He was a warrior with a troubled soul and mind, caught in the snare of the furies, tormenting him with hallucinations and Orkos helps Kratos see Truth beyond the lies. It's basically the reason why Kratos's theme is called Warrior's Truth and not The Vengeful Spartan.
      Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

      @@Dookieman1975 honestly i think hes just mad hes not getting the money from the norse games. Because they didnt change anything. The entire point of his rage was avenging his family. It stands to reason that if he can settle down and start another family, he would. Im positive that was always the end goal.

    It's really painful for kratos at 4:10 especially if you remember during the greek era, he wanted to d!e so much because of his nightmares and the guilt of losing his entire family and sparta, he had nothing else to live for but revenge.
    But now that he has a son, Atreus, Kratos' death arrived all too late after it was prophesized that he'd (permanently) die in ragnarok after killing Heimdall, knowing he'd lose someone he loves again - leaving his own son behind - which made it all the more painful for him

    • @BlueSpams
      @BlueSpams 7 месяцев назад +5

      Yeah, thats also why he seemed to have a very taken back reaction to Atreus asking him to finish the story later. Because even still at this point part of Kratos still believed he was going to die the next day. I honestly think this is one of the few times Kratos was actually scared of the idea of dying.

    • @angkhoao1731
      @angkhoao1731 7 месяцев назад +6

      If you think of Death here as Thanatos himself, it's likely Kratos remembered his failure for the inability to save his own brother Deimos, despite being able to defeat the god of death.

      Like It's not even remotely in character for Kratos to care that much wether he's a beloved God or not, let alone to the point that he cries over it. It's something that's just made up in that moment.

      @@fatos342 this shows that he is no longer a monster and a destroyer who only causes pain and suffering for people, but someone who is loved. Literally the essence of change, which ran as the main motif throughout the entire saga. How should you play to not understand this? And since when do emotions make a person weak?

    • @drnafari0us962
      @drnafari0us962 8 месяцев назад +3

      @@Ilya_LyubarskiyNot to mention, the most demanding thing Kratos had to do was let Calliope go. It's the only time you as the player have to mash that button 3 separate times. I'd say he's definitely as emotional as he is now, especially when it comes to his family (brother, wife, mother, daughter and son and Pandora and plenty more I haven't mentioned)

      1: Tragedy, loss and trauma has ALWAYS been part of Kratos. Literally the first thing he does in GoW2005 is attempting to end his life because the gods betrayed him in his quest to seek redemption and relief. In every cutscene when he's not fighting, he already seemed so fucking done with the world.
      2: The writers still make Norse Kratos one of the strongest, most badass characters in the mythology. Hulking demigod flipping temples with his bare hands, slaying monsters and even still killing GODS.
      1: How is almost crying out of character and 2: in what kind of world is Kratos a wuss at any point.
