    Im so glad they are keeping the spirit of the original one, I was worried they would cut out the Bald Knobbers and water splash down like they did with Blazing Fury at Dollywood. Also cool to hear they are adding the old scenes back in!

    • @Porcf81
      @Porcf81 Год назад +5

      There were never baldnobbers at Dollywood. They are part of Ozark history, and Marmaros is the town that predated silver dollar city. Dollywood isn’t at all connected to them so blazing fury has a different story. Also, water in the valley at Dollywood was far more troublesome than water on the hilltop at SDC, so it has managed to live on in Branson, while Dollywood was forced to make a choice. The water leaves or the entire ride would deteriorate to a point of no return.
      I’m thrilled they have kept that as part of the ride in Branson!

    All of my concerns about this project have been thoroughly laid to rest. When I saw the massive new building for the ride, my first thought was “no way they will be fleshing out scenes on that scale. That building is way too big to be filled with scenery.” I suspected a few scenes on a more typical coaster system, with a big gravity driven finale in the dark with maybe some special fire effects. I feared the bulk of the space would just be “coaster in the dark”. The fact that they are doing what are doing shows me that they truly understand the ride, why it is special, how much people love it, what needed to be done to rebuild the experience, and their commitment to fully invest in it. This is just so exciting!!

    I’m so glad they basically just revamping it and bringing back old scenes we probably forgot about I’ve been riding going to the park since I was a toddler in the late 80s and riding fire in the hole since I was tall enough. It’s always been my favorite bases off nostalgia. I’m excited and nervous for all the expansion and changes to the park I hope it doesn’t lose the theme and hospitality it’s always been known for.

    it’s awesome that sdc did this especially since this probably won’t make them as much money as a brand new coaster would. This is awesome for everyone that went to silver dollar city while they were growing up FITH was everyone’s first “Big Kid Ride” my hats off to Herschend for keeping this ride alive.

    I was one of those you spoke of that was kind of leery of how they were going to do this. This ride was 'part of my Childhood' and more, as it has been passed down to my son, and nephews. Was worried about a toned down, renamed version of Fire In The Hole. But wow, I am not sure if I could be anymore pleased and happy about this than I am. So impressed with this so far, sounds like they are keeping everything we loved about it, modernizing it, improving it and adding some new twists. So very excited about this! Cannot wait to ride it, may not make it next season but hoping for the season after. Sill hoping to make it down there in late October/Early November for one last ride on the Classic Fire In The Hole. Giving this a preliminary A++++.

    I'm glad to see they're keeping what appears to be a very similar design and ride with all the familiar sights, sounds, track paths and hills. I'm also excited to hear they are bringing back some of the original parts that were eliminated back in the '80's. I'm hoping for the "tracks out ahead" effect it once had. I'm very glad they are keeping the Baldknobbers, my fear being they would be completely eliminated due to misunderstandings about who they represented. But I'm not crazy about the new look. I wish they had just gone with the historical look of full black masks with horns.

    • @SirWillow
      @SirWillow  Год назад

    The overhead shot of Fire District at (13.56) mark shows an empty pad near the water that looks like where they would move the Fire Spotter balloon ride. If they do they would probably expand the food stand across from Boatworks Theatre. It would be great to build a resort at the far end of the Train tracks behind Outlaw run with a train station to bring guests into the park. Would not be surprised if they move the White Water Waterpark onto the expanded property and retheme it with an indoor/outdoor section also.

    You would think in the five times I rode FIRE 🔥 IN THE HOLE on December 30th that I would have heard THE ORIGINAL THEME SONG at least once. I just wanted the first trains going out in 1972. December 30 2023 I was on the second to the last public train ride. On one of my rides there was a man that was probably in his mid-sixties and he was telling the woman with him that if anybody took his picture they would have to destroy it. I was right behind him I should have taken the picture but did not. On the very last public train there was a 7 year old boy riding it for his first and last time. I found a special interesting cuz that was approximately the age I was when I rode it for my first time. I found interesting that both the boy and the older gentlemen were the first time riders on the same day. The last day of the coaster. If I knew there was giving away souvenirs such as part of the track I would have registered. But I was okay with writing it on the last day. And I got to ride it four more bonus times on top of that so 5 total. On the 3rd to last ride that I took they closed it for maintenance. Some people left but I said well that's fitting because how many times has fire in the hole been closed for breaking down 👇?? No I'm sure they're going to make it more modern now that's what I was told. I asked if they were going to trade in the sock hats for the white Hood? After all this is what the ride was about a bunch of thieving White supremacist. It provided a fun look but a great historical view of our past. The past we never should have had and we should never want again. But it's still around supremacy. Nowadays you got black supremacist Latina supremacists and more. You think we would learn by now. Well I'll be interested I made this trip of several hours just to be in silver Dollar City on the final ride day. Thank you all who didn't think they want to wait in line and it would be really long. Because it made the line shorter for the rest of us who did show up. Anybody else remembers when they would take a momentarily pause and we would hear an explanation or story of what was going on? A few of us remember that. The sad thing is that many of us have memories of people who are no longer with us. They rode that ride. Regardless of how good the replacement turns out to be or not. It will never be the same. Can it be better? Of course it could be but we'll have to wait and see. Remember they don't have to do everything as nice as they do. But they do it. For example all the Christmas lights that they put out they really don't have to put out that many. If they just put out 1/4 of the lights it would still be almost everybody else. My belief is that the family be it the immediate family or the extending operating family the employees all want to be over the top with the final product

    My only tiny concern is that they're making a huge investment in a ride that may not necessarily feel new, especially beyond hardcore SDC fans. Sounds like the casual park goer might think it's the same ride, just refurbished. Will that temper some of the "new ride" excitement that drives park attendance? Hopefully they've taken this into account when they're evaluating this investment.
    Personally, I was expecting more of a sequel to FitH, paying homage to the old but also bringing a new adventure. Something closer to Shanghai Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm really pleased that they're essentially preserving the ride for the next fifty years, but I definitely worry about how they'll value this investment moving forward.

      It'll be obvious it's not the same ride since it's on the other side of the park. :-) I think those that are wondering about it though may not have a real feel for SDC and the passion that the area has for it's history. While this wouldn't work at many parks, I honestly believe it's the absolute right thing to do here.

      no. Blazing Fury just had a major overhaul a few years ago. It's not in need of being rebuilt like Fire in the Hole did

    I said right away it was just a big money grub by silver Dollar City to announce that this was the last year of the ride. I told my grandkids right away their refurbishing it and trying to draw more people into the park. It's all about money money money these days

      It's not a refurbishment. It is a completely new ride. The old one is closed and gone now.

    I'm hoping this is a shift for Herschend to start doing more modern themed experiences. I think especially Dollywood could use a dark ride, flying theater or whatever else. Herschend has proven again and again their skill in theming and storytelling, but it feels like recently with a lot of the recent additions being coasters for the past decade that they can't fully showcase that talent. Really, the only thing I'm worried about is RMC's questionable track record for reliability and operations, but the fact that this is so much less intense than anything else they've done does make me think that it could turn out to be fine. They already have some RMC track on Blazing Fury so they probably know what they're working with, so I feel like it'll most likely be okay

      You do realize that this is an 1880s themed park. Why would they go with modern themed anything. If you want modern themed Disney world is in Orlando Florida. We are Silver dollar city and we are proud to be what we are
