The Surrogate is one of her best. There is trauma, grief, and desperation. It’s going to be on my top reads. I also loved Things We Leave Unfinished, but I read that when it came out. One of my top reads for 2023 is going to Come Sundown by Nora Roberts. 🍩
I've had about 10 five-star books this year. Most of them are fairly popular and you may have even recommended them. So, I'm going to recommend three that I'm pretty sure aren't on your list. "Running Barefoot" by Amy Harmon is about a 13-year old girl and an 18-year old Navajo boy she befriends. It's a really sweet story, but it has one of the most beautiful scenes where the hero watches the heroine's hair when they get older. "Simple Jess" by Pamela Morsi about a young woman that is being pressured by her community to remarry after the death of her husband. One of the men volunteers to help her with her farm until she selects a new husband. Jess doesn't think he's in the running because everyone thinks of him as being simple-minded. I don't usually go for romance books that are sweet, but these two just really touched me. And, of course, you could read "Night in Eden" by Candice Proctor - I'm going to die on this sword!!! 🍩
Hey Jess here's some of my favorites of 2024 but not all 1. Not in Love by Allie Hazelwood 2. Bride by Allie Hazelwood 3. Curvy Girl Summer by Danielle Allen 4. King of sloth by ana hang 5. The partner plot by Kristina Forest 6. The woman in Me by Britney Spears 7. Wild Love by Elise silver 8. Our little secret by QB Tyler 9. Serpentine Valentine by Giana darling😊
When Gracie Met the Grump by Mariana Zapata is really good (that's the superhero book you mentioned). You should read it, I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's her typical slow burn and funny as well.
I would do the Aristocrat over the Surrogate for sure. Lights Out, is a must read, the audio is amazing!! Also for all the single mom tropes there is a great song by Brad Paisley "He didn't have to be" great song for those books.🍩
I am going to have to go back and check your Nora Roberts reads...I love all her books. Have you ever read any J.R. Ward...The Black Dagger Brotherhood is my favorite series.
I've heard so many good things about Loving The Legend! I have to read it! My Top 3 of this year would be: • Honeytrap by Aster Glenn Gray • The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer • Surviving Love by S. C. Wynne (Honorable mention The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun. If some of you liked this one, you should read Surviving Love and The Fake Dating Game by Timothy Janovsky) 🍩
Man this past year I haven’t been able to read any romance for personal reasons. I’m hoping 2025 will be MY year for romance books. I got the new Ruby Dixon book for myself for Christmas and I am ready. 🎉
Keeping 13 is probably my top book of the year (it’s between that and Just for the Summer), so I highly recommend you read Keeping before the end of the year. I don’t think you’ll need to reread Binding 13 before starting Keeping 13.
Keep me by Sara cate is my favorite of the year! It blew me away!! Yes it’s spicy as we would expect from Sara but it was so much more than that. It’s Scottish grumpy/grumpy. Marriage of convenience, past trauma bonding. Just read it!! The audiobook is on Libby. Jess!!!! Just read it!!!!
The Frozen River is so good, but not sure you would like it. It’s historical fiction and while there’s a little bit of a romance, it’s not a romance book (imo).
The frozen river was a 2 star for me. But I read it for the mystery which sucked. Sorry not a good one for me. It was also too long. But I'm glad others like it
I just finished P.S. I hate you & really liked it. It is sad, the heroine is unlikable, but that makes it better imo. If you pick it up, I hope you like it too
I DNF city of gods and monsters. Its not heavy fantasy but gives more urban fantasy vibes since they speak of modern technology.. but I was honestly bored. I DNF at 70% because I just didn't enjoy where the story was going. Like I had high expectations and was so excited.
I just read city of gods and monsters and loved it!!! So much romance, you're going to love the hero.

The Frozen River is by Ariel Lawhon. It's a historical fiction novel about a midwife solving a murder. It has some romance components. Great book!

🍩 Love the list of books!
City of Gods and monsters is very romance focused! Slow burn but very good! Also gives crescent city vibes. Currently reading book 2 and it’s so good!

🍩. The Inheritance Nora Roberts, my 2024 favorite
I'm currently listening to Keep Me on audio through Hoopla. It's pretty good so far, but I'm a sucker for most anything Scottish!
Happily Never After by Lynn Painter. 5 stars, to me. Listen to the audio, the banter is great.
❤😊❤
Maybe they meant The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon? It’s a historical mystery I believe and was a Goodreads awards nominee.

I rec’d The Surrogate! It is sad and angsty and I know you’d love it!!

I really enjoy your videos Jess ☺️🍩
You can’t go wrong with N.R. Walker or Jay Hogan!
I really enjoyed the audiobook for P.S. I Hate You! Definitely sad but really good! 🍩
Keep me by Sara Cate. It' s number 1 on my list.
Loved the things we leave unfinished. It’s not new. Check it out!
No fantasy books this year beats Spark of the Everflame books.. 🎉Amazing! Can’t wait for the 4th book! 😢
I submitted a failure to Match by Kyra Parsi but you didn't mention it 😮
Lights Out, Play Along, and Keep Me you need to read soon! Also Glow of the Everflame but you need to read book 1 first 🤣🍩🍩
A thousand cuts sounds good 👀

There is romance in the sword of Kaigen there’s a marriage in trouble in it🍩
🍩🍩🍩 Some great suggestions!
Enjoy your donut, Jess! 🍩🍩🍩
Heartless Hunter and The Secret LIfe of Addie LaRue, Lights Out
