im really loving the chinese dub the more i played Genshin. especially this quote Zhongli says every few seconds whenever I'm afk lmao. i mean not to discredit the other voice actor but this lines is very deep if you understand the meaning behind it but the eng and chn dub win this deliverance for me. the way Keith Silverstein and especially Bo Peng delivers it, they sound lonely and longing for the memory of past. the way Keith tilt his voice and drag it at the end as if he's Zhongli and he's reminiscing is just so good. Especially Bo Peng way of delivering this omfg, theres sadness, loneliness, longing and fondness. and he say it slowly, as if savoring the memory, its just so dang perfect. the japanese and korean in my opinion is too fast, too flat. idk if its the translation or what but japanese is too long imho and the way he pause, i thought he stopped talking but he's actually not. and the korean sounds like he stating a fact, they do try to drag the words at end as if they feel sadness and longing but its just feel flat for me because of the rushed start, theres no build up or ambience feeling to it for such an important-lore-wise lines. it could be that i am too doesn't understand the emotional feeling from Jp and Kr because of lack understanding from their ambience of words/tone. im so satisfied and happy that Zhongli is voiced by Bo Peng the voice director of Genshin Impact, the way he delivers his line for Zhongli is just beyond perfection. I'm a bit biased towards english but chinese objectively sounds the most appropriate for zhongli. It captures his elegance and melancholy so well. Japanese doesn't capture these qualities (he sounds a bit too assertive and enthusiastic), while korean kind of gets it but isn't quite there.

After going through these a few times, here are my rankings 1. English 2. Chinese 3. Japanese 4. Korean Japanese and Korean just sound like lines being said, there’s not really any substance so they can be swapped in and out of 3 and 4. Chinese had this feeling of accepted despair, which while it has Way more substance, feels both wrong and right for the line. English has that small subtle touch on it, at the end of the second half of the line, the sigh of great sadness. Like he wants to make himself sound professional, but can’t hold it much longer. It really pulls at your heartstrings
